New to One X flashing - HTC One X

Recently upgraded to One X from Desire HD which was very easy to unlock, s-off & root, & to flash custom ROMS etc. Just reading various topics here it seems that it's not so easy on the HOX and I'm struggling to understand the basics - fastboot, firmwares, boot.img, TWRP etc.
Are there any top level guides to get me started?
FAQs very helpful but start at a higher level to where I'm at. Keen to get going but realise that I need to go carefully!

General section has tons of guides. Just do a search.

Thanks - I genuinely did search, but I've been looking in the wrong place in the Q&A. The guide [HOW TO] Unlock bootloader, Root, Flash Custom ROM, Flash Kernel And More! looks like it fits the bill.

How to get Stock India ROM.

I am currently using CM 7.0.2, since i'm planning to buy Nexus S. I need to revert the phone to stock to sell it. It would be great if someone could post the links for stock rom (India).
Can you amend your thread title please to reflect that you are looking for a stock India ROM.
Your thread title question is answered several times in the development forum and I guess you know how to make the phone stock, you just need the RUU.
Many thanks.
I remember switching off the radio using a utility but i can't recall the name. Where do i find a step by step guide to revert to stock? What is RUU ?
btw, I have edited the post.
Search the forums, use the link in my sig or just browse the development forum. All your questions have already been answered.
RUU is what the stock ROM's are referred to. My mistake, I shouldn't have used the term.
Thanks.. will search the forum..

I know exactly what you mean.. i miss the benchmarking scores and overclocking to 1.8ghz.. It's because of the battery i'm selling the phone.
Secondly, The custom roms are an addiction . I had a galaxy s earlier and man i was always addicted to flash the latest darkky's rom. I don't think i'll even root my nexus s .

There's plenty of "How to Root" threads in the Development section. I suggest doing some research on what/how to do it. You'll need to used Unrevoked to root, and Android SDK to use commands like ADB to do various things as well.
You'll need to install a custom recovery as well, ClockworkMod.
You'll need to download the CyanogenMod 7 ROM, and the theme you're talking about is in the Market. You'll need to install that, but again you'll need to do research.
If you don't know what you're doing, you can brick your phone, which is why I suggest to browse the Development forums and read up on what is needed to root a phone first.
EDIT: Also, this should go in the Q&A section.

[Q] Please help me

My phone is already S-off........it needs to be rooted, run clockwork mod and run custom rom..........plsss help as you know my problem.........I want to flash a custom ROM!!!!! I am new and would be grateful 2 u.
Best bet is to check out the development forum - I used the Advanced Hack Kit to root mine
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259821
You can also check for custom roms in the development forum, which one you use is down to personal preference and there are a lot of good choices available
HTH
If your phone is already s off then there is no need to root sincebit's already rooted. Simply grab a ROM from the development section, follow the instruction and enjoy.

How to Flash Custom ROM?

Hi,
Does anybody know any easy to follow guides or steps to installing custom roms on the Galaxy W. I have upgraded from an Xperia X8 and it seems more complex than that.
Any assistance is appreciated

Please read the threads in development section.
Hi,
Yeah i did check that forum but i couldnt realy find anything which is relatively easy enough to follow in order to install CWM.
I havent as yet rooted the device or done anything else. However it is running the latest Samsung firmware and isnt carrier locked.
Arco68 has posted a cwm recovery in the galaxy w hacking and development section. You can use Odin (simple way) or adb (complex way) to flash cwm. Then once this is done you can go into recovery. You will notice many things are different to standard recovery. Go into install rom rom sdcard (hint that you need a rom on ur SD) and it will flash the rom you choose. Simplez. PS. If your gonna choose a rom I'd recommend cyanogenmod (currently in alpha but not many bugs and still good)

[Q] How do I relock my bootloader and install stock over my custom rom?

As the thread title suggests, I want to relock my Xperia S and install a stock rom so I can use SUS and PCC again to keep my phone up to date.
I searched around and found different ways to relock the phone and how to return to the stock rom, but it's just not clear to me yet what steps I need to follow or where I can find the roms/kernels to flash. To make it clear, I want to:
1. Remove my custom rom and custom kernel and return to stock rom and kernel.
2. Relock my bootloader.
There's just so many threads with so many different stock kernels/roms and it's making me so confused. If someone could tell me what steps I need to follow and link the threads I should be using, that'd be great!

I'm also asking me what to do if I want to keep my current installation. Remove CWM (how?), flash original kernel and then relock would be the steps to do, or? I tried this once by just flashing the original kernel and then locking the bootloader with flashtool but i had to do a repair installation with SEUS because my phone (LT26i) was constantly rebooting...

I was with CM10 and I reverted it to Stock ~ 1 month ago like this:
1. Relocked the BL following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159 (Many thanks, DooMLoRD!)
2. The phone sopped booting anymore. I believe it was because I was using version that requires unlocked BL and I relocked mine.
3. I flashed a stock .55 ROM
That's all ... after that it was working fine.
PS: be sure that you have a good stock ROM. I downloaded this one from somewhere: LT26i_6.1.A.2.55_SG_Generic_(1257-6921).ftf
Good luck!
