My phone is already S-off........it needs to be rooted, run clockwork mod and run custom rom..........plsss help as you know my problem.........I want to flash a custom ROM!!!!! I am new and would be grateful 2 u.
Best bet is to check out the development forum - I used the Advanced Hack Kit to root mine
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259821
You can also check for custom roms in the development forum, which one you use is down to personal preference and there are a lot of good choices available
HTH
If your phone is already s off then there is no need to root sincebit's already rooted. Simply grab a ROM from the development section, follow the instruction and enjoy.

There's plenty of "How to Root" threads in the Development section. I suggest doing some research on what/how to do it. You'll need to used Unrevoked to root, and Android SDK to use commands like ADB to do various things as well.
You'll need to install a custom recovery as well, ClockworkMod.
You'll need to download the CyanogenMod 7 ROM, and the theme you're talking about is in the Market. You'll need to install that, but again you'll need to do research.
If you don't know what you're doing, you can brick your phone, which is why I suggest to browse the Development forums and read up on what is needed to root a phone first.
EDIT: Also, this should go in the Q&A section.

SuperoneClick is compatible with wildfire S? I think that this is wrong...
As much as I know it's mostly os depending and not hardware, but could be wrong, can someone confirm that it's not working anyways which process you tried, then I will delete it!

Phew, sry I just compiled this together, unfortunately I have no such link^^ But there is already a ruu collection, within the stock ROM section -> shipped roms, ask there, they sure can give you a hint or maybe a link where you can get the ruu.

Would you consider adding the rom I put up to the Stock Rom section?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Consider changing "falshable" to flashable. Otherwise, all's great!
Added the the rom of insink71, some other links and corrected the typo.

EDIT : all the links are broken (wtf!??) They all go to 'http:\' when on the xda premium app. Is it just me?
new stock rom and updated desciptions
Love love love this index; such a timesaver. Added another stock rom for US Cellular and updated descriptions to reflect this and VM USA [marvelc roms] are cross-flashable. Even verified to be safe [even got my bud on US Cellular to flash VM rom and test as well]. That's it for stock roms. Both are vanilla with only Darktremor's Apps2sd added [to make memory issues bearable]... Could add stuff to VM one, but then again stock is stock ... Now on to custom rom for marvelc

before you start the process of removing your OS (i.e. rooting your phone) you must read about what you are going to and learn about the process. And follow every guide to the finest detail - you will only go wrong if you dont understand what something is or means or if you cant follow a guide.
Happy rooting
Be sure to take a backup (after u install recovery) before you install any other ROM (or OS in your language )

Hi,
Does anybody know any easy to follow guides or steps to installing custom roms on the Galaxy W. I have upgraded from an Xperia X8 and it seems more complex than that.
Any assistance is appreciated

Hi,
Yeah i did check that forum but i couldnt realy find anything which is relatively easy enough to follow in order to install CWM.
I havent as yet rooted the device or done anything else. However it is running the latest Samsung firmware and isnt carrier locked.
Arco68 has posted a cwm recovery in the galaxy w hacking and development section. You can use Odin (simple way) or adb (complex way) to flash cwm. Then once this is done you can go into recovery. You will notice many things are different to standard recovery. Go into install rom rom sdcard (hint that you need a rom on ur SD) and it will flash the rom you choose. Simplez. PS. If your gonna choose a rom I'd recommend cyanogenmod (currently in alpha but not many bugs and still good)
