I have searched the forums and couldn't find a solid answer, but does the blinkfeed app from the play store actually work with GPE? Do any of the HTC apps work on GPE? I love GPE and love blinkfeed but wanted to make sure before I change from my Dev Edition conversion.
BlinkFeed is Sense only. Relies on the sense framework.

Blinkfeed and sense launcher. Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735764 install like a regular app, I run it a lot on AOSP when I miss blinkfeed.

I wood really like a rom which is just plain android (no htc sense ui). As I would like to use launcher pro beta as my home. Or even better a method of removing sense ui from stock rom.
Thanks
Dion
I would suggest you try one of the Froyo roms if you are wanting a rom without sense ui.

why would you want a nexus one :s its an ugly desire with less ram
In retrospect, i would probably have chosen the nexus too, just for the quicker release of OTA updates from Google. But with this in mind, and when the Desire officially receives the Froyo update, wouldn't updates be released quicker through HTC if they get rid of sense ui?...

I hate sense to. Its the stupiest of all home screen. But installing anything else means rooting which I dont like just now.
It is impossible to use any ROM except the stock ROM on a non-rooted desire.

Wow, why get a phone with Sense if you're going to complain?
Try out adw launcher or the stock Nexus One launcher us available for download as well. You do lose all things Sense if you use it though.

I found the stock launcher here and installed it on my Desire and used it with no problems, you can also find the really cool gallery app from the Nexus One here which has some really cool features that I wish HTC hadn't taken out ie date/location grouping.

I don't hate sense. I do hate the sense homescreen which i have replaced by launcherpro. But the facebook integration and the interface changes do make an addition imo! It could be smoother though ,hope that changes in 2.2
I recently just started doing a bit with my GN. I currently have rooted and installed Revolutions HD 2.1.2 and messed around with some soft key/notification bar mods, but my main goal is to make my phone look far from stock ICS.
-What can I do to gain larger icons, similar to that of the iPhone =/. I like many of the icon packs, but I would just like to be able to re-size them. Does this have to do specifically with the ROM, or with themes?
- Some examples I have seen have been on the Android Themes forums, and MIUI.
- Any help would be appreciated, I've been poking around searching google and the forum for a bit but I haven't seen questions like these answered clearly.
Buy a Galaxy S II
Right. Any other ideas? or is it just something that the phone needs more time?

More times I think. Themes will pop up soon.
Once Cyanogenmod 9 comes out there are hundreds of CM themes that will make it look FAR from stock ICS.
Also you can try using an alternate launcher, like GoLauncher EX, ad using a theme for GoLauncher, like a HTC Sense theme
Check out all the GO Launcher Themes HERE for a bunch of ways to make it look not like stock ICS
People with htc sense are trying to make it look like stock Android. And people with stock Android are trying to make it look like sense. It's funny

haha its true, but lets admit it were never 100% happy.
I wish the Nexus had a better camera and a metal unibody, but ill settle for it the way it is.
Considering the pros and cons its the best phone available for me right now, that doesn't mean im 100% satisfied...

Is this possible? Been running cyanogenmod for a few months as I was stuck on a Vodafone UK cid, have recently been able to flash 1.36 hboot and am currently running mike1986's jb Rom, its a hood fast Rom but after using stock android for a few months I think I no longer like sense.. in fact I think I no longer like what HTC have done to jb,.. I'm going to switch back to stock in but one thing HTC have done right is the burst camera.. is it possible to have it on a non sense rom?
No, the camera from Sense ROMs can only run on Sense framework. I would love to have it too, but it's just not possible.

Just use third party apps camera.
There's plenty of them on the market.
Some of it almost like sense's camera.
Just keep trying..
Cheers!!
Hello everybody,
I have may be stupid question. Is it possible to put htc apps such as messanger or dialer into cm 7.2. I´d like to get rid of sence, but I am used to those htc application. Or do you know about stable (working) android 2.3 with Sense (I would replace sence with other launcher)? I didnt find any stable working rom.
Thank in advance,
Pavlos.

You can maybe find Sense themed apps like dialers but the pure sense apps need Sense framework in most cases

I thought so. Thank you much for your information.
Not sure if this has been asked already, but HTC Apps won't install on my GPE m8. Specifically the gallery and music app, but I have Sense TV installed that works perfectly fine. Is there any reason why or does it have to do something with the Sense framework that won't let it install?

Not exactly. Sense is not AOSP compatible. Just like you wouldn't try flashing a Samsung TouchWiz app on your M8.

Gpe is not an aosp ROM like cm etc. Gpe Roms by HTC do have s bit of sense framework otherwise boomsound and sense TV etc wouldn't work. Also they could get us all other apps, maybe they do it with the time
