I have connected the Fire TV to my projector using a HDFury HDMI to VGA converter and the Fire TV outputs a 1080p signal. In theory it can handle 1080p, but the picture shows some artifacts. All other devices I have connected this way (DVB-S receiver, WDTV Live) I have set to output 720p and everything works fine.
Now in the Fire TV I cannot set any other resolution option than "Auto", for everything else I get an error "Unsupported Resolution". Any hints? Any way to force 720p on the Fire TV?

Hey guys,
Every time I mirror my laptop screen (Windows 10) to my TV its just a little box in the top left corner of the TV screen. The mirroring works otherwise, but I can't figure out how to make it fullscreen on my TV. It's got to be a setting on the stick or something because when I exit the mirroring portion everything else displays fullscreen.
Anyone know of a solution?
Try adjusting your display to a 720p or 1080p resolution (which ever you TV has) in your display properties before initiating the the miracast connection.

I tried to watch a video from my Fire Phone on a TV with Fire TV Stick and the video quality was terrible. Are they any settings or what am I missing here?
I guess I was naiv to think that Miracast is the Android version of AirPlay.
Hi Guys,
I have a new Fire TV 4k. I learnt about the resolution switch via 'rewind and up' however when its in 1080p24 my TV displays an output but its 60Hz. I cannot seem to get it to switch to 24Hz.
Does anyone have any idea's why?
Thanks,
I have a Fire TV hooked up via Ethernet to a Samsung 4K UHD capable TV. About 70% of the time when starting a 4K video, the unit shuts down. It won't start again until I pull the power plug and reboot. Regular programming is fine. Anyone seen this before?
Does anyone have any idea why my fire tv 2 Sloane always does 4k in the downloader app, but switches to 1080p on everything else?? Also, even though it switches to 4k in the downloader app I cannot choose a 4k resolution in the settings.
I'm looking for any suggestions or solutions, but please, it is NOT A TV ISSUE. it happens on both my 4k tvs and my fire stick does 4k without issues on both of the TV's.
