It works for me (4.4.2).
I am on 4.4.4 (XT1058- Bootloader unlocked). I have to use Stickmount and SELinusModeChanger (to change SELinux Mode to Permissive) from the playstore, but my 64 GB Sandisk dual drive works.
Both my Kingston and Silicon Power OTG drives work with my stock AT&T Moto X (OTA 4.4.4). Nothing else needed.

Let's hope it's does.

Yes, it support it via software.
But you need a female-USB to male-microUSB adapter.
I am very interested in this. Have you read somewhere where this is confirmed?

There's a samsung product called "USB Connector", model: ET-R205UBEGSTD and install an app called Stickmount (now only for USB with FAT partition) for automount.

I'm using standard micro usb to usb otg cable and usb devices like mouse/kb, external hd and pendrives working fine.
Your pendrive dir should be in "/mnt/usb" folder.
If it's not there:
1. Your rom/kernel may not support usb-otg.
2. Your pendrive may need more power than your phone can give (unlikely).
3. Your pendrive has not supported partition type. Try format your pendrive to fat32.
Has anyone tried to download and upload to an external HHD using a micro USB to usb ? Any type any size
I use my other cable with my 16 gig flash drive. I'm sure it will work with any size as long as it's fat 32.

External hdd
Hi.
Has anyone tried external hard drives, do you recognize?
Thank you!
OK so I got a micro USB to USB female and plugged in my 3gig external HD and it read as unsupported I the reformatted the drive to fat and it works well the only problem is you can't play back on your TV so now the question is how to get NTSF on my tablet?
Hello,
I'm facing an issue when I mount an external flash drive to my nexus 7 using a simple USB OTG adapter. When i plug the external memory in, the flash drive's LED indicator lights up, which means that it's powered by the tablet, but the device itself doesn't react whatsoever and when browsing with ES I don't see any external drive. What am i supposed to do? My nexus 7 is entirely stock and no root, so i don't void the warranty.

ES won't see the drive - you need to use a 3rd party app like Nexus Media Importer to access it.
Yeah, I got total commander plus a paid usb otg plugin for it and now I can use it normally. Turns out Nexus devices can't boot external flash drives on their own.

When my USB port wasn't broken I didn't need any additional apps, I just plugged my USB drive into my OTG cable then into my device and it was instantly recognized. If that doesn't work for you try usinh Chainfire's Stickmount.
You could try OTG helper but that requires root access...
If the light is coming on you should be able to use it. You are just going to need a 3rd party app such as "file explorer".
I can understand the worries of voiding your warranty but you may need root access if you are going to trouble shoot. If things go bad you can always unroot your tablet and take it back to factory settings. WuGFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit has a nice feature on his windows program that does that automatically for you!

Hello guys,
This note 3 neo seems to be a good value for money...so I'm interested in...
I'm just wondering if the usb OTG is working well... I know it's usb2 and not 3...
I was so disappointed when I realized OTG doesn't work on S4 Mini I've bought to a friend of mine...

I can confirm this, not working with NTFS file system. Format drives as FAT32 only
So this feature is quasi-useless. How many people have drives still using FAT32?
Just use the Stickmount app by Chainfire and your ntfs drives should get detected fine

All you need is:
- OTG cable.
- Total Commander file manager (free)
- Paragon NTFS Plugin for Total Commander (free)
I put my old 250Gb IDE hard drive (formatted as NTFS) inside an USB enclosure and copied several files from the old drive to my Neo. I had to move the jumper on the HD from Master to Cable Select, though.
