CWM is no more there after installing a new rom and new rom won't load. Then i have to flash the stock rom again > root it > install CWM. Again when i install any rom it would install normally but nothing gives a blank screen after reboot and the stock rom is not even there.
The situation is occurring with the following;
Phone: Sony Xperia ARC S (LT18i)
Bootloader: unlocked
Android version 2.3.4 (Build 4.0.2.A.42) -
I have made multiple attempts on installing new roms but nothing works. Every time i reboot after installation im left with a blank screen. Can anyone advise what the problem could be ?
Thanks
Did u flash the kernel for the ROM u flashed ? The ROM will not boot without its kernel.

you must be installing CWM into the system through one touch command prompt program.. as such as soon as the ROM changes and you wipe out data and cache, CWM disappears..try flashing a custom recovery kernel which are available even for stock roms.
Also follow these steps for a custom ROM (eg CM9):
download the ROM, extracted it into a folder, copy the boot.img where you can remember, then copy the original cm9 ZIP - not the extracted folder- into the root of SD..use fastboot mode of flashtools to flash the kernel boot.img which you had copied..its a recovery kernel so CWM should open..wipe out SD data..then cache..and then go into advanced option and clear dalvik..and then proceed to install zip from sd..then gapps.zip if u want..it should install fine..and then reboot.
Press Thanks if you think i was of help to you..:good:

Got it - Yes i was installing CWM within stock rom via market. though i tried to install it through adb/windows but still i guess the problem was all about not installing a custom recovery kernel.
Thanks a lot !

Hello all
On my Note 2/N7100 I'm using Hawkish Extreme Serie v3 (4.3) based on a leaked firmware XXUEMI6.
I'm not able to install any kernal , if I do my phone stucks in a bootloop that too lags .
I've tried cleaning the cache and dalvik cache before and after the installation but upto no avail :/
I've tried to install the Agni kernal and the Perseus kernel .
I've tried them both back when i had omega rom installed .
Please help
And SElinux status is : Permissive
If that does help
I had the same problem.(4.4.2).
For me only 1 thing worked : flash stock firmware via odin, reboot 1 time, flash custom recovery, and root again.

I was trying to install CWM recovery on this phone , I used Odin to flash recovery . I flashed recovery then removed battery and then booted to recovery then CWM loaded but as soon as I restarted the phone and again tried opening recovery phone took me to stock recovery , how can I solve this? I am running 4.2.2 firmware . And also I tried flashing CM11 with this temporary CWM but package installation stopped because of a error (status 7) saying some problem with partition , I was not rooted at the time . Is root needed to flash CM11 ?

1. Once u boot into CWM recovery flash SuperSU (If u don't have get it from here). This will ensure that the recovery doesn't revert back to stock.
2. Status 7 error has various reasons. Ensure that u r using most latest recovery and perform clean install.

emmc is a partition i believe, if you see such errors, recheck if you are using the correct recovery... I flashed my tablet with wrong recovery and it wiped out all my partitions. It's as good as a brick now if not worse.
Hi , guys,I have a question , I flashed the AOSP6.0 & cm12.1 or based ROMs ,but all of them can't enter system , always stuck at bootanimaitons , and I did double swip before flash , I can't find the reason , so hope you guys who can help me or give me some advices , thanks so much .
Recovery: TWRP 2.8.7
my device: E975
Is your Recoverymenu working?
yup , recovery is working well , and it can install the ROM successfully
try flashing a kdz, maybe is a partition problem, and for the 6.0 of kevinjoa u have to mount system to flash
so when your recovery is workeing then flash another rom... if this rom is working well then your old rom has some issues...
I flashed aosp 6.0, liquid 5.1.1&mokee 51.1 , all of the ROMs booted up and stuck at bootanimations , only my old ROM can boot into system .
I installed 20b kdz , then root & unlock, flash my current ROM , I don't think the ROM will change the partitions , so I can't understand why the problem happened , maybe I should flash another ROM which can boot into system, then try the new ROMs .
try to flash a stockrom (with download mode)
after that all should be normal and you can unlock your bootloader again and flash custom roms...
yup , I will do it when I have time .
I did this like you said before , the ROM I flashed is based stock's , and I don't think the ROM which will change the important parts of phone . I have flashed a ROM which is based on HongKong's 20b KDZ, and it was edited very little , I flash the custom ROMs later , if it won't work either, I will reinstall the KDZ again.
same issue here...can't boot any custom roms( LP/M)
Maybe you have to re install into a new sistem, can you get into the recovery mode?

I said Stock ROM not STock Based ROM...
In my oppinion he should flash a Stock Rom with LG FlashTool and Downloadmode or whatever...
Important: STOCK ROM not STOCK BASED...
this should help u http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-install-stock-firmware-on-lg-optimus-g/
Every thing i tried.....flash stock rom using flashtool and did freegee.....still same issue always...none of the LP rom boots up...
hey, guys, I flashed official KDZ , and root , unlock it again , then I installed AOSP ROMs and CM or based on it , my phone can't boot into system either.
then I want to get a log to analysis what caused this , but I don't know which log will be right or better , who knows this , pls help me , I want to taste the MM ROMs .
yes, I get into recovery mode, and I installed several ROMs , but it can't get into system .
Only the ROMs which are based on official KDZ , my phone can boot successfully.
Same on my phone
I flashed official E97520b_00.kdz, root the phone , unlock it too , then I installed various ROMs (5.1.1 /6.01) and CM or based on it with various recoveries, made a full wipe or factory reset with and without system, the result is every time the same ----> phone can't boot in any of this systems and shows only the animated bootlogo. It seems to be a problem of ram size - the system is not correct installed. BUT WHY??????
The recovery log shows in the end "unmount of /system failed; no such volume", the catlog from boot "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"
HELP NEEDED
The recovery log shows in the end "unmount of /system failed; no such volume", the catlog from boot "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"
System is by default unmounted in TRWP 2.8.7.0 on my E975.
Try to Mount it manually and check if its working.
Maybe Mount/Unmount and install the Rom again, in case manually Mounting/Unmounting works.
Or reboot into Recovery and follow Kevinjoa's instruction http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-intl/orig-development/romgeehrcaosp6-009-10-15-t3221743 if you use his Rom.
And sounds clear that "unmount of /system failed; no such volume" if system is not mounted, you cant unmount a non-mounted partition
I flashed the AOSP and followed kevinjoa's step, it still stuck at bootanimation , and the recovery notice" unmount of /system failed; no such volume" still there . So bad
hey , guys , I have a good news for you , I have flashed the current RR 6.0.1 ROM on my devices successfully , the only thing I changed is the official kdz--NEU/EUROPE OPEN 20A kdz , here is the site : http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW108106432109876543213/E97520A_00.kdz
the system section is 2G after flash this kdz , so maybe you should have a try , hope this will help you .
thanks M.M.K give the kdz again

plz help me to flash the stock rom
my cid is : htc_j15
Get the latest Firmware RUU.... Flash that and you should be able to flash any ROM. Make sure it has ALL of the firmware updates for your phone.
The errors you are getting are indicative of a Bad downloaded ROM or a corrupt ROM file.
Oh and when you install a new ROM wipe Dalvic Cache, Cache, System and Data.....
Don't forget to hit thanks!!
