[Q] Emails on LG G3 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have recently upgraded from the iPhone 5 to an LG G3 and today noticed that I can only see my emails from today and yesterday and not sure where the others have gone. Is this something to do with the server? I need to be able to see more emails than just the past 24 hours. I've checked in archive and trash and they aren't in there either.
Many thanks
Liz

In settings and account settings there is an option to download all mail or just over a time period. Somewhere in the account settings menu.

Tilt 2 IMAP issues

Hey all, I just recently got the Tilt 2 after upgrading from the HTC Fuze and I'm very happy with it. I flashed over EnergyROM "Leo" with 2.5 and have been having a great time with it.
I did notice one little nagging issue that's driving me crazy. I added my work IMAP account and set it from downloading the last three days to download all messages. I did the intial Send/Receive and it got alot of my emails, but I noticed that there were some at my office inbox that didn't make it to the phone as well as no emails in any of the IMAP folders even though I know that they should be there.
I tried looking through all the settings I could think of, messaging, email accounts, options, everywhere I could think of. I know there must be a way to do it because I flashed my Fuze all the time and it always downloaded all of my emails once I set it up.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Just an update. I flashed a different ROM today just incase that was the issue but I'm still having the problem. I haven't tried it on the stock ROM yet, but I really don't want to go back and need the emails for work.
Anyone have any ideas?
You might need to select each sub-folder in "Manage Folders" under "Tools". Press each folder for a moment or two until the menu pops up. Try this for your inbox as well. The per-folder settings supersede the global one AFAIK.

[Q] Facebook notifications not working LGG3 D855

Hello All,
Got my G3 2 days ago and I noticed that I dont receive notifications for comments, events, likes, friend requests.
My notifications in FB are already enabled. I have already soft restarted by removing battery. I already HARD reset the phone and nothing has changed.
I guess the small red bubble that appeared on all apps when having a notification is not applicable to LG G3? (I used to be a GS4 owner before)
Does anyone else experience this?
Any workarounds?
Please note that I am on V10h-EUR-XX
anyone please? my friends are getting them except me!;/
Anyone please?
basically my notifications are ENABLED under App Settings in facebook app.
The strange thing is that in the facebook app under account settings --> Notifications --> Mobile Push ...Those notifications I receive them successfully.
the notifications under App Settings I do not receive them.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Hi
Facebook notifications are working (now) without problems on my LG G3. But the strange thing is, after an update in august of my LG G3 I had the same issue like you.
What I have to do was....
-- Settings
-- Applications
-- Find the Facebook app
-- In it, the "Show notification" check was unchecked!
After I checked it, I received the notificatoin like before
Maybe it helps....
Thanks.
I fixed them with a different way.
I have followed this guide.

[Q] Weird stock email app behaviour..

All my email is pushed to my G3. I've noticed over the past few days that my iPad and my wife's iPad and her Lumia will always get emails first, followed a few minutes later by my G3. Sometimes the emails just don't arrive on the G3 at all (I've waited 20 minutes!). I have no idea what happens to them but they won't appear on the device unless I start the email app manually.
Today I realised that if the email app is running in the background, i.e. appearing in the task switcher (or whatever it's called) it almost certainly, will not receive email. If I manually shut the app from the switcher, the emails will arrive immediately and continue to arrive as long as the email app is not open in the background!
I've restored the phone to factory settings and it still does it, albeit intermittently. I've called LG support and they don't seem to have a clue and suggest that it's an android problem as opposed to a LG problem. No surprise there!
Can anyone help please?
Hi,
I also have push email configured in my phone, and i haven't noted the behavior you comment.
Do you have any battery saver installed? Or any restriction to the background data?
Regards
Sent from my phone
No battery saver, background data on as normal. Wifi is on also.
Just tried to ping the device and no pings coming back. Looks like the wifi is going to sleep despite it being set to stay awake..
This is really strange!
Can anyone help please? My G3 is the very last device in the house to get email and many times, it's just not getting them at all.
It seems to just go to sleep and not receive pushed email!
Is android just slow at getting email?

Gmail Syncing

Is there anyone else having problems with Gmail not syncing? I have searched and saw issues with the Nexus 6p but it keeps happening on my 5x. Is there a known workaround for this?
-Thankx
I'm not having issues on my 5X, but I use Inbox instead of gmail. However, read the following article. There are issues being reported.

Gmail struggles to sync on my phone as well. I don't know of a way to fix it yet.

Same here. I don't get notified of new emails until I open the app. Haven't found a fix yet
Glad to see it's not just me. I've cleared data/uninstalled about 10 times and couldn't get it to work. Seems to sync fine on my Samsung Note 8.0
Maybe the Gmail update today fixed it. I actually just received 3 emails in a row without opening the app and manually syncing.

disabling battery optimization for gmail can help with the problem, but even that doesn't get rid of it. however i as well noticed gmail notifications being more reliable with th update currently being rolled out.
I just sent a test email and i got it immediately. Maybe it's working...
Its been better for me today. Its still spotty though.
Mine is spotty also. I often miss gmail for hours so today I updated the gmail app. Now my gear 2 no longer gets gmail notifications! It gets the others but gmail is most important. Really pisses me off. I checked settings and gmail is still checked under gear notifications and gear still allowed under security and gmail notifications and sync still checked and working.
I just installed inbox and that is working perfectly. I have updated my Gmail and it still isn't working for me.
I am using an unread counter that only supports gmail (novalauncher/teslaunread), i read the email in Inbox but Gmail still thinks there is an unread mail HOURS later. Annoying.
Also spotty. The one that I tested worked fine, but a different account didn't update until many hours later.
Wow, glad it's not just me. Been driving me crazy today trying all sorts of things to fix this. Will keep an eye on this here for updates.
I have an LG G3.
No improvement here on my LG G3 running Marshmallow. Is this fixed for the rest of you?
My moto and sammy both still have the problem.
This has been a recognized issue for a couple months now. Google announced on 10-Feb that they were rolling out a fix server-side (i.e. not a system update or app update) that should be reached globally within a week. Since then, however, there has not been one single report of consistent Gmail/Inbox notifications. It's gotten quite ridiculous.

Did some more testing and found what's causing me the issue, but it's very strange.
I cleared data and cache in gmail and started fresh. Everything works fine. As soon as I change days to sync globally to more than the default 60 or if I got into manage labels and change the inbox specific sync to ALL (which is what I want, I only have about 70 messages in there), gmail stops syncing completely. If i go into accounts->gmail, the last sync time never updates again after I change the days to sync in gmail.
Anyone else want to test this?
My sync is only 30 days but I still have the problem

If I change to to something else and then back to 30, it doesn't fix it. Have you cleared gmail data and cache and confirmed it doesn't sync without touching any gmail settings?

Cannot connect to server exchange LG G3

Ok I have a issue i've been trying to fix for the past few hours. Hope some one can help.
I wanted to change the settings on one of my email accounts that i set up through microsoft exchange on my LG G3 and accidentaly deleted the account. So i thought not to bad i wil just add it again...nope that's not so easy. It keeps sayong cannot connect to server when i try to add a new account. What can I do?
It's especially frustrating as I just did a factory reset, got MM on there and just made the email account yesterday without a problem....and now it won't allow me to do that again.
Thanks for the help.
Mariska
What rom are you using?

I'm having a similar issue along with 4 others with LG phones in our work environment. All of needed to just change our AD passwords because of policy, and when we updated our phones with our new AD password... we ALL get "Cannot Connect to Server". The workaround we are using for right now is the Outlook app on the play store. We were all using the native app before. I've tried clearing data/cache on the app, completely setting up my email account again all with no luck. We are using Office 365 and Exchange 2013. All of us are stock rom. Mine is the only one stock but rooted phone.

Any resolve with this?
FIXED!
Thanks to this post: http://www.droidforums.net/threads/...-connect-to-server-to-change-password.288741/
It is an update for Android System Webview, basically I went into play store, uninstalled the update and went and set email up fine on the native app. Then went back in and ran the update. No need to reboot.
