Stock clean rom - LG Optimus G Pro

I was wondering how hard it would be to make a ROM from stock? On my old HTC one x, there was a dev who took HTC latest update, debloated, took a lot of script out and it was blazing fast. It was so fast, it felt like cm, but using HTC sense framework. Would it be hard to make something like that for the og pro?

You can debloat stock here as well... Our device is fast...
2SHAYNEZ

Yeah it is. I love this device. CM drains the battery a little faster than stock, but not too bad.

I hate Sense but I love SRS enhancement. Sense ROMS always drain fast for me and are memory consuming. Anyone suffering the same pain as me?

I came over from a Galaxy S 4G and I knew what I was getting when I switched. I must say now that I have it I really hate sense!! I knew there was an MIUI available so the sense only lasted about 20 minutes after un-boxing.
Really? I'm the exact opposite. AOSP is quick with good battery life but I can't stand it. It feels incomplete to me. Sense is the best to me, even though it might be a little slower and use more battery.
On a side note why would you want a HTC phone if you dislike Sense?
I am in agreement with you on this, the sense are a little flashy out of all the roms. They also have a lot of extra mods and different settings, which to me gives it a heavy feeling. The asop and akop aren't heavy at all, and they still have the same customization options that I want, yet very easy to use. I love my ICS, I loved CM7, i always find myself using an asop over sense

I did the exact same thing although I had to wait for the alpha rev for windows back in July. Anyone remember that?? Don't get me wrong HTC makes beast phones. But STOCK sense is garbage. If devs didn't put their custom tweaks into their roms I think a lot of people wouldn't use them.
I dunno about stock sense being garbage. I came from a Droid Eris though which is why I probably like sense now. Sense 2.1 ran at a crawl on that phone so AOSP Rom were the o ly way to make that phone run good. With the dinc2 though, I've noticed that sense ROMS just run better than aosp. The AOSP ROMS seem to lag after being on without a reboot. The sense ROMS don't seem to do that.

Sense has some amazing widgets and I like most of the interface, but CM7 and MIUI roms are so much quicker. Luckliy I have Boot manager, so I can use on rom for a week, till I get bored, then switch it up. I no longer have to make backups and reflash. I always come back to sense though, mainly becuase of the widgets
Well the thing with Sense is if you come from a history of using it your going to like it no matter what. I mean I got the Droid Incredible 2 because it was free for me. I tried handling sense but replaced it after a week. This phone was the first HTC phone I ever had. (First Android for me was the Motorola Cliq XT since my intro to the smartphone world was through the iPhone). Just Sense is not like ICS where I just recently came from. And ICS was my baby.
I LOVE Sense!! And, for me at least, it has better battery life than AOSP ROMs although it is a little slower.

Sense better battery life than aosp? No way.
I came to the dinc2 from an og droid, and I have to say I would take sense over aosp any day. And yes, I also get better battery life on sense. Then again, I bought an htc phone because I wanted sense.

I came over from the OG Droid, so Sense was completely new to me when I got my Incredible 2 last summer. I tried it for about a month before I finally decided I just wasn't a fan, so I went to Go Launcher. A bit later, I decided to root the phone and try out some fancy new ROMs. I've been through a bunch of different selections since then. Generally anytime a new Sense ROM comes out, I see all the people that rave about it, so I wind up giving it a try. But it never fails, within a week or two, I wind up going back to an AOSP choice.
As far as battery life, I haven't personally noticed a huge different between the two. I've run Sense flashes that are good and battery, and others that are not as good. Same for AOSP. It the end, it basically comes down to me just not personally loving the Sense UI.
Sense:
. much better camera (especially in low light conditions)
. Better phone and contacts apk s . Better phone and speaker in call volumes
. Slightly better battery life
. More polished UI
. Feels like it's made for the phone
Aosp:
. Quicker, lighter, snappier
. Power toggles are awesome
. Feels incomplete
. In call volumes are questionable. They're either too low or too high.
Conclusion: can't go wrong with either one, but the edge goes to sense (until aosp ICS is fully functional)

I thought I'd really like Sense, but once I used it, I just didn't care for it. Can't Stand the launcher - the enormous phone button, the dedicated "customize" button, etc... So I use ADW, which means I loose all the Sense widgets, which leaves little else of value.
The camera on Sense did seem to be better than AOSP, not sure why that would be. But I use either MIUI or CM7 as they're so much faster and, in my experience, do get better battery life.

Yep, the launcher kills Sense for me. Why on earth do they do that? That stupid customize button is one of the worst UI design decisions I've ever seen.
Ultimately, too, I'd rather have my phone run well than look pretty, so while I mess around with Sense ROMs when they come out, I always end up back on AOSP. I like HTC hardware, but Sense is more trouble than it's worth.

Yea I have to agree with that much about sense. The launcher does blow pretty bad. The paginated app drawer is pretty sad too. I use go launcher pretty much because the HTC launcher is so bad.

well certain versions of rosie are better than others....i like the mt4g slide version a lot (in tsm bullet, cheap plug) and its a lot different than normal rosie
bliss sense 3.5 rosie is barely recognizable as a sense launcher in its layout
and from what ive seen of ics sense 3.5/3.6/4.0 they completely redid the layout
I like bliss alright but i haven't tried any of the 3.5 ROMs on the dinc2 so I don't know how well they run.

[Q] Custom or Stock ROM

Once I am certain that my One X is fault free I want to Root and install a custom ROM on it. But I heard some feedback on another Thread that the custom ROM they were on was actually worse than the Stock ROM and they were going back to Stock.
What I would like is some feedback from current users of custom ROM's on the One X.
Whether you think it has improved your experience of using the One X?
What ROM you are on?
Is battery life improved?
What's not working?
Any other thoughts?
This is NOT a "What Custom ROM is best" thread, because that is down to individual preference. I just want to gauge whether I am gaining anything by Unlocking (voiding my warranty) and flashing custom.
Any thoughts apreciated....
I'm on Coredroid 2.0 for the last week and so far all is great, battery either better or the same, no issues, looks better than stock so I keep it.
I do have stock backup just in case but looks like I won't need it.
I'v been using Coredroid ROMs on my previous phones and always liked it so it was easy choice for me.
just to add i have flashed first Android Revolution and it blew me away. But now i am using LeeDroid and i highly recommend it due to the fact how well the Leedroid tweaks blend with the rom and how lite and fast it is for me that is.. Stock rom is good as well but with all the bloatware removed i am more than happy.
Battery life best always to judge over a few cycles but so far not bad my friend. I would go for Leedroid for now. and you have few nice mods in themes and apps to play with to.
Honestly many Roms are similar so bloatware removed, mods available. Just choose one you visually like

have to admit CoreDroid looks nice and visually eye candy material...looking forward when we get some good themes going as well
Took the plunge and have flashed Android Revolution HD, as I used that on my Sensation.
Hope my phone doesn't break now!!
not too impressed with arhd battery life. tried insertcoin tht wasnt very good either for battery but both emntioned roms very speedy. i think the three stock rom is optimized for our network 3g consumption and the reason three didnt release the 1.28 update like the rest is because of the radio [posibly and the network handling protocols within the rom.
hmmm im back on stock for now removed bloatware with titanium much much better just want a theme.
ics browser is better and and so it the phone app in my opnion would love them to be flashable like on my sensation but still keep sense!

Viper or Jellybean?

Until the two come together, which one would you pick for now and why?
I would say viper because it's highly customizable. I have used cm10. It's preety damn fast but you can always install a custom kernel ( faux or nix) to make it buttery smooth.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I used cm10 for a few weeks to test it out, but then realised how much I missed sense's superior camera and sound (with mods of course). Also, sense is what makes the phone unique. Hard choice.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Have to agree with above posts, the Jellybean roms run super smooth and quick, and look nice etc, but the camera is basic.
So if you don't use your camera i would say go with a JB rom, but if you like the features of the Sense camera then stick with Viper for now.
Any sense based rom I quite rely on sense for its camera, better email client, Facebook integration, widgets, and such.
I've tried the jelly bean roms and miui but always come break to sense.
It depends on your usage and such try them both out and find which you prefer to use.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Tried 4.1 for few days, but had to come back to sense. This makes HTC phones unique and there are so many features that lack in CM roms. Also, Viper is so highly custoimzable and smooth you will not regret not having 4.1 at all.
I was in rd miui jelly bean for two days and was great, using stock kernel but I think it needs a custom kernel for better battery.
Viperx is amazing. But Now I m on ordroidx, I dont know tomorrow. Love flashing and modding.

I used Ice Cold Jelly and stick to it since then ^^
I love the stock android feeling since ICS and Jellybean just makes it even better.
I asked myself the same question many times, the pro's for viper being the fact it could be modded to have the least possible sense (which I just find annoying, there is too much of everything...) the battery life and te camera.
But I stay on ICJ, it has great support from both the kernel dev (ncx) and LordClockan which is allways helping. You can't theme Sense suc perfectly back to stock as stock allready is, the AOKP toggles are just awesome for me and having a Nexus 7 I am not having two different panoramas.
Thanks to the ncx kernel it's fast and stable but also with minimal battery drain.
I would tell you to try both, and stick with the one you prefer.
Another point I keep in mind is that I will never again buy from HTC (the S-ON fact and sense of course) So stock is the best way to have the most chances to keep your references... (that's why I searched stock, coming from a Galaxy Nexus).
Good luck !
Said it before, Footballs maximus rom owns. It just works. I used to jump around Ice Cold and allsorts on DHD, always trying to find the perfect rom... i really have nothing to fix on this. Stock kernel too. it just works. Admittedly, some games are VERY slightly juddery, but I have a Nexus 7 too, so I game much less on the One X now. I tried Viper..... Really wasnt for me. Its like the non-bloat version of bloat.....
yes,the same by me,i like to test rom but mydaily rom is the great viper;its fast shure,Viper is so highly custoimzable and smooth you will not regret not having 4.1 at all.maby one day it comes the version from htc with sense4.? and JellyBean,i love sense sinse i have had this touch diamond2,over the touch hd and the wonderful desire.
Its like religion or ähh politic ore somethink i dont know
Jellybean or Renovate or ARHD....simple as that mate...and if you like to customize then go with MIUI
@ edge3uk
Its like the non-bloat version of bloat.....
thats silly,blödsinn, quatsch, man you boring or what?
For me ..Domination ROM is the best..but battery not good as Sense ROMs and other ROMs
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I used CM10 for few weeks but like few before me have mentioned, battery life is not that great and camera is really awful, so now I'm back on Viper X. JB is nice, smoother and quicker, but for me personally that marginal performance difference is not worth sacrificing battery, camera or stability (and then there are few other nifty little features of sense that I like , such as beats audio profiles, FM radio, weather and clock animations etc).

Favorite ROM for the VZW HTC One

So, which custom ROM are you rocking, if any?
I'm very happy with Slim.
Using Bonestock right now, tried a few out in between and went back, Battery life is the best I've seen out of any ROM I've tried. I'd love to use the Google Edition 4.4 thats there and I did try it for a little bit but it cut my battery life in half almost, its a great ROM otherwise, smooth, quick and simple but I rely a lot on lasting through the day with my phone and Bonestock does it and usually way into the night as well
Inverted EclipticONE 4.4/5.5
Inverted EclipticONE 4.4/5.5 as well and loving sense again.
Viper ROM
Was on CM10 for quite sometime but went back to Bonestock. CM10 was not good enough to give up Zoe and HTC TV.

Big fan of TiKTaK here. Getting great battery life with the latest update.
I like em all, except sense based roms. I'm just not a fan of sense. Tiktak and Joelz gpe are two amazing roms (especially tiktak because Santod posted a inverted mms for me when I requested it) but to be quite honest my daily driver has remained Nitro's inverted eclipse gpe, no matter what I've flashed so far (and Ive tried most) I always go back to old faithful for me lol
i've been using NOS 2.0 and have been very happy with it.
I have tried out a few and so far EclipticOne-Inverted 4.3/Sense 5.5 has been my favorite. I am going to flash the 4.4 version soon.

[Q] Sense 7 ROM With Best Battery Life / Improve Sense 7 Battery Life?

Either Its just me or we can all agree that Sense 7 on the VZW One has.. not so good Battery Life. For me, Only Sense 5 and 5.5 Have had truly "good" battery life, Sense 6 was eh, but for me, Sense 7 has not so good battery life, Its probably better or worse on the OTA Sense 7 (I haven't gotten it yet, and I lost my Sense 6 Backup.) But nevertheless;
I am running NuSenSeven and The battery life is not that great. I am using the kernel provided with the ROM, the stock kernel doesn't let me use the tapping gestures to turn on the screen and things of that nature. But the stock kernel doesn't let me.
If anyone knows some good Sense 7 ROMs or Kernels that work on sense 7, Feel free to help out by replying to this with some Kernels or ROMs.
Thanks!

There is no OTA of Sense 7 for the m7.
The m7 OTA is Lollipop with Sense 6.
All Sense 7 roms for the m7 are ported from the all new HTC One m9.
So, being that the base they are ported from, is made for a much more powerful device, I don't think you can expect the exact same battery life as a stock m7 intended rom.
However, Lollipop in general is more power hungry then Kitkat.
So of course Sense 5 and Sense 5.5 are more battery friendly.
That is a pretty well known thing...since Lollipop is still less mature then Kitkat was.
If you are on Verizon, your options for roms are fairly limited anymore...you know what rom and kernel I suggest, but you're already using them.
If you want, you can flash the stock rooted Sense 6 rom that I posted, which is a rooted flashable version of the Official Verizon m7 Lollipop update that just recently released.
But that will also come with a stock kernel and the same Lollipop 5.0.2 base that the Sense 7 roms are also based on just with a newer Sense UI.
So I don't think you'd find much change in power consumption to be honest.

Santods right, n I'm one of the few ppl here that always said I preferred stock rooted roms instead of custom, and I've tried both roms Santods speaking of , and there's very little difference in power. N as I say this, I run NuSense as my daily driver, because in my eyes it's more solid then stock even.
but in all honesty that's always been my biggest gripe with this phone... The horrible battery life
Can you link to the Rom you're talking about? It sounds like a dream. At least the way I read it, which was a 4.4 Rom with Sense 7?
I'm gonna try sense 5.5 and Sense 5 as of now. Now note that this is not urgent, as my HTC is used as a media speaker since my mic is broken
(I use a Droid Ultra. By the way, never buy another droid phone for as long as the Moto X exists. Android M was announced today and we're still running 4.4.4 even though the X, G, and E. "Pending partner support" my ass.)
So I just need a rom that will last awhile on airplane mode and WiFi. Off to try sense 5/5.5.
I am running the same rom and for awhile I have used this phone as a Wi-Fi player and below is the battery stats. I highly suggest using programs like greenify to extend your battery life. I greenify pretty much everything as you really don't need any background apps running (message app, phone, sim toolbox, etc since you wouldn't be using them). I even greenify Google apps and services. I listen to my podcasts on my hour drive to and from work and play some games on this phone with barely any battery drain.
A nice hint is keep battery saver on unless you are doing something that needs every ounce of power the phone has.

Sadly, no. Our mount points are different and flashing a rom for a different model will cause bootloops. I suggest viperone 7.0.2 or the 4.4.3 gpe rom.
