Clock crashing - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just went to check my alarm and the lg alarm clock keeps crashing when trying to add or edit an alarm...
Have tried clearing data etc but no change. Have had to download an alternative one for tomorrow. Was fine thus morning... Ideas?

Strange...
I defrosted all the apps I froze to see if something was conflicting... rebooted and all the apps reinitialized (Android is Upgrading)
Then it started working again... froze each app again one by one, rebooting each time and now it's still fine...
Ah well...

[Q] G2 Apps Start Force Closing

On my G2, I've noticed that previously perfectly working apps will suddenly stop working, giving me a force close error whenever I try to launch them after being installed for a period of time. The only way I've been able to fix it is by uninstalling and then reinstalling the application.
Has this occurred to anyone else? And what should I do to fix this problem?
yes, i had this problem a few days ago...i did a factory reset and everything works fine as of now.
are there any solutions that don't require a wipe?
i had to wipe, and i lost all my mileage records i had entered into the mileage app, and my text messages before i backed them up...
its not too bad when its 2 weeks worth of information... but if this is going to occur often, its not going to be pretty
The two times that happened to me a simple power off/power on worked and they stopped Force Closing. I'm taking it that it didn't work in your situation and the uninstall/reinstall was the only fix?
yea i tried rebooting it several times, but after my latest wipe, nothing bad has happened...
still an issue that should be raised if its been replicated more than once
Ive had this problem with the stock browser and twitter, rebooting seemed to fix it.
Ah, one of those times where fix_permissions would be nice.
I've had to uninstall and re-install several of my apps because they've been force closing.

I've had this happen and it was acting really weird before it did it. It did like a vicious reboot and just about any app other than stock got a force close upon opening. It's gotta be software issues, god I hate stock roms. Damn TMobile and trying to restricting our joy of root.

This is starting to happen to me on my G2 as well now. I have uninstalled the Apps I could (except the preinstalled ones) and still they are force closing on me. I also have Factory Reset the phone several times and it still is happening. I have already exchanged my G2 once at Walmart for a flickering screen but im pretty sure the 14 days are up now with them. At this point I'm sure I have to call Tmobile.
Anyone have any ideas before I call T-Mobile?
I'm not rooted at all just plain stock.
Thanks

[Q] Beautiful Widgets force closing

Hey guys, title pretty much says it all. I have had problems with Beautiful Widgets. It keeps randomly force closing. It usually happens after I wake the phone up. It will say beautiful widget has stopped worked then force close. The widget keeps working and everything. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried uninstalling and installing it. Any other tricks you guys have. I know it says that it is supported. I am running Revolution HD. Stock Kernel.

Have you tried a different rom? Im on aokp and haven't had any force close issues
No, I haven't tried a different rom. I will eventually be making my way to CM9, but wanted to wait another week or so. Nobody else on Rev HD is having issues with beautiful widgets. Which makes me think that it might be something with the application itself?
I haven't had any problems on gummy or CNA with multiple kernels. Clear cache and app data if that doesn't work; try to Uninstall/re install
I uninstalled, then installed again still had issues. I then cleared app data and it worked. I noticed that when i created a new widget the weather animation was disabled. The secondi turned it on. The force closes started again. any ideas on why the animation would cause this
did you get it from the market or somewhere else?

Weired. I used beautiful widgets on stock, aokp and apex with not problems whatsoever. Try wiping app data with titanium.
aahhh, finally got it. I ended up uninstalling the animation add on lol.. then re installing it. Beautiful widgets was using almost 100 megs of memory, now it's using 7 haha.... hope this helps someone if anyone else is having issues!

[Q] marketplace issues

I rooted my r800x almost 2 months ago. Used Doomlords one-click zerg rush. Still have locked bootloader. Anyways, things were just fine for awhile. Even used rom toolbox to change the theme and some notification icons. Other than that my rom is stock. Well randomly whenever I go to the market if would say "device not compatible with this app." Only thing that seemed to fix it was restoring a nandroid backup. That was 2 weeks ago. Now it's doing it again and I haven't made any changes to my system since. Not sure why its doing it again. Even says it on apps that I already had and have been using for ages so i know they are compatible.
Any ideas what's going on or how to fix it?
No one has any ideas? Has this happened before? I can't figure out how to fix it now, shy of factory resetting and re-rooting.
Did you change your screen's density?
I changed it to 230 from 240. So i just tried changing it back to 240 and rebooting upon prompt, still issues. Did another reboot just to see, still issues. Could it be something else I changed? Did a theme change so lockscreen, notifications, volume, etc are blue. Also changed system font and boot animation. I think that's it. Oh wifi scan interval.
When you change screen density, a reboot won't be enough. You need to go into settings, specifically the manage applications section. Select Market, force stop it, then clear data. Load up your market again, and you should be fine.
I tried the force closing and data clearing twice and no luck. Made sure the density is at 240 which is what it normally was. Even changed the system font back to stock. I wish I knew why it's doing this and not resolving itself. Frustrating.
Have you cleared the dalvik cache as well?

Ok well I did the market force close again and wiped data, turned off device for a half hour, turned it on and left it in standby with screen off for a half hour, then opened market and now its fine. Very weird. Should I wipe the dalvik cache anyways?

Nope, (when I change the screen density, I have to force stop market/clear market data, reboot into recovery/clear dalvik cache/reboot before market works again (it's a pain in the butt, so I normally don't do it))
If it works, it's good.

Apps not installing correctly

My wife and I both have OP3 and this morning we are seeing the same issue of apps installing but unable to open. Just get the app splash screen and then it closes again. Tried on a number of apps and even using data or WiFi. Still does the same.
We both updated to 3.2.2 the other day and that is the only thing I can think that has changed.
Any ideas?
