I rooted my r800x almost 2 months ago. Used Doomlords one-click zerg rush. Still have locked bootloader. Anyways, things were just fine for awhile. Even used rom toolbox to change the theme and some notification icons. Other than that my rom is stock. Well randomly whenever I go to the market if would say "device not compatible with this app." Only thing that seemed to fix it was restoring a nandroid backup. That was 2 weeks ago. Now it's doing it again and I haven't made any changes to my system since. Not sure why its doing it again. Even says it on apps that I already had and have been using for ages so i know they are compatible.
Any ideas what's going on or how to fix it?
No one has any ideas? Has this happened before? I can't figure out how to fix it now, shy of factory resetting and re-rooting.
Did you change your screen's density?
I changed it to 230 from 240. So i just tried changing it back to 240 and rebooting upon prompt, still issues. Did another reboot just to see, still issues. Could it be something else I changed? Did a theme change so lockscreen, notifications, volume, etc are blue. Also changed system font and boot animation. I think that's it. Oh wifi scan interval.
When you change screen density, a reboot won't be enough. You need to go into settings, specifically the manage applications section. Select Market, force stop it, then clear data. Load up your market again, and you should be fine.
I tried the force closing and data clearing twice and no luck. Made sure the density is at 240 which is what it normally was. Even changed the system font back to stock. I wish I knew why it's doing this and not resolving itself. Frustrating.
Have you cleared the dalvik cache as well?

Ok well I did the market force close again and wiped data, turned off device for a half hour, turned it on and left it in standby with screen off for a half hour, then opened market and now its fine. Very weird. Should I wipe the dalvik cache anyways?

Nope, (when I change the screen density, I have to force stop market/clear market data, reboot into recovery/clear dalvik cache/reboot before market works again (it's a pain in the butt, so I normally don't do it))
If it works, it's good.

On my G2, I've noticed that previously perfectly working apps will suddenly stop working, giving me a force close error whenever I try to launch them after being installed for a period of time. The only way I've been able to fix it is by uninstalling and then reinstalling the application.
Has this occurred to anyone else? And what should I do to fix this problem?
yes, i had this problem a few days ago...i did a factory reset and everything works fine as of now.
are there any solutions that don't require a wipe?
i had to wipe, and i lost all my mileage records i had entered into the mileage app, and my text messages before i backed them up...
its not too bad when its 2 weeks worth of information... but if this is going to occur often, its not going to be pretty
The two times that happened to me a simple power off/power on worked and they stopped Force Closing. I'm taking it that it didn't work in your situation and the uninstall/reinstall was the only fix?
yea i tried rebooting it several times, but after my latest wipe, nothing bad has happened...
still an issue that should be raised if its been replicated more than once
Ive had this problem with the stock browser and twitter, rebooting seemed to fix it.
Ah, one of those times where fix_permissions would be nice.
I've had to uninstall and re-install several of my apps because they've been force closing.

I've had this happen and it was acting really weird before it did it. It did like a vicious reboot and just about any app other than stock got a force close upon opening. It's gotta be software issues, god I hate stock roms. Damn TMobile and trying to restricting our joy of root.

This is starting to happen to me on my G2 as well now. I have uninstalled the Apps I could (except the preinstalled ones) and still they are force closing on me. I also have Factory Reset the phone several times and it still is happening. I have already exchanged my G2 once at Walmart for a flickering screen but im pretty sure the 14 days are up now with them. At this point I'm sure I have to call Tmobile.
Anyone have any ideas before I call T-Mobile?
I'm not rooted at all just plain stock.
Thanks
So I just got this phone brand new in the box from insurance company and the camera started off working and now all it does is stay on a black screen when loading into the app. It doesn't load at all. This is making me and really don't want to send to get a nnew phone again

Pull the battery.
Or try a factory reset.
Settings>SD & phone storage>Factory data reset
Try clearing the cache in the camera app and if that doesn't work then do a factory reset. Sometimes certain programs can mess up the stock camera so clearing the cache could resolve this. I had this occur before when fring was installed and I would have to task kill and restart few times to get the camera to work. Uninstalled fring and stock camera booted up fine again. Good luck.
I have been running the Petes nightly rom for a couple months now and have been loving it. However last night something really strange happened. I was watching tv and turned my screen on to unlock the phone and when I did I noticed about 3 force close messages and I never get fc. I tried to open other apps and almost all of them force closed. I rebooted the phone and same thing. I rebooted into recovery and chose the fix permissions option and when I rebooted it seemed better at first besides a few apps still fc. Then I noticed that all my homescreens were deleted except my default one which still had my app folders on it. I am running francos kernel with the updater. I have been on milestone 2 for about a week now and hadnt had any issues. It's almost like I did a wipe data on the phone because I had to sign back in to certain apps as well. Any idea for what could have happened? The only changes I made to the phone yesterday was updating 3 apps and I used the settings in francos updater to drop all the voltages down 25mv but I don't see how either could have done anything.
Sometime after upgrading to 4.1.1 my Galaxy Nexus began to have trouble viewing Youtube. At first I blamed the network, but trying to view a video in the gallery has begun to produce the same result, causing the app to hang and crash, as well as causing Face Unlock to stop working, requiring a restart. Clearing the app's Data and Cache have no effect. This was only a minor inconvenience until I installed 4.1.2; Since the update having a Youtube or Gallery video fail causes the Clock app to stop working when my alarm is supposed to be triggered in the morning. Google Play Music still works fine.
The problem occurs at totally random intervals after startup, usually after a full day of being turned on, and I'm not entirely sure if it was initially caused by the JB update. I have enabled "Show all ANRs" in the developers options to no avail. When upgrading to 4.1.2 the OTA failed, as did trying to install the OTA files through CWM. I was forced to re-flash the device without wiping. I have a GSM Nexus running Stock 4.1.2 takju JB, rooted and unlocked with Clockwork Mod Touch custom recovery. I've tried searching the internet for people in the same situation as me, and although I've found several similar, I haven't been able to find the same problem, or a way to fix it. I have already tried using Fix Permissions in CWM, closing and uninstalling other unrelated apps, and Clearing the Data and Cache for all the affected apps.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

wipe data/factory reset
I realize that will almost definitely fix the problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what could be done short of wiping or re-flashing the device. I'd like to keep a factory reset as a last resort, but thanks for the quick reply.

Not entirely sure if this is the same but my camera, gallery, music and a few others wouldn't work, giving a no storage error. I flashed a different kernel and now all is good, maybe worth a try before a full reset!

I've heard of a few problems like that, but my phone gives me no error dialogs at all, it just stops working. All the apps are fine until I try to view a video. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't, but if the video does fail and I have to mash home to to get out of the app then anything media related stops working with the exception of Play Music. Sometimes I don't even get an ANR.
I might try to flash a new kernel. Could you tell me which on you used?

Have you tried reflashing the gapps?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I haven't tried Reflashing Gapps yet. I've attached a logcat file from when Youtube, Gallery and Camera stopped working. Only Face Unlock displayed an ANR. I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly when the services stop working, but it doesn't seem to be when I do something specific to the phone.
Backing up, reflashing the phone and the restoring all my apps and data fixed the problem. Thank you all for the sugestions.

Hi guys, I never posted here but am trying to find some help. I've had my S4 for quite a while now, and I just factory reset everything because I kept getting a "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." message that wouldn't go away or let me use my phone without an interruption literally every 2 seconds. But before I even had that problem, there were worse problems as well. There are two things that occur frequently:
1. Sometimes, when I tap on an icon, the indicator light shows up (a glow around the icon), but the app itself does not open. Then, if i tap on it repeatedly, nothing happens. I can temporarily fix this problem by opening up the recent/opened apps list (holding home button) and clearing everything (or clicking on that app if it had been opened). Once cleared, I can tap it again and it would open. As you might see, this can get very annoying and troublesome after doing it so many times. Is there anyway I can permanently fix this so that I don't need to keep clearing the open apps list?
2. Sometimes, when I unlock my screen, exit an app, press the home button, or clear the opened app list (as mentioned above), my wallpaper changes to an app. The app is usually random and sometimes is not one that I had opened. For example, the background of my messaging app or Astro File Manager would show up even if I had not recently opened it at all. I can also temporarily fix this by clearing the recent/opened apps list (as mentioned in #1). After clearing this, the wallpaper resets. Is there any way I can fix this permanently as well?
3. Snapchat and VSCO Cam constantly "stop unexpectedly". I don't know if this is a firmware or incompatibility issue, but it usually works fine. This message pops up once in a while and isn't too burdensome, but is still quite annoying.
Thank you for all the help in advance. I am trying to get the most out of my phone and appreciate any help.
Are you running stock or custom and has anything changed since you factory reset?

It's stock right now. Not rooted or anything at all. I didn't really change much of the device internally, only downloaded a couple of apps, but those have been working fine since the beginning. It is running Kit Kat, 4.4.2. I am currently using Nova Launcher as my home screen replacement.
