[Q] MTP USb device failed to install

running motorolla defy with cyanogen mod 7
any idea how to get around the problem

I think you should go to Hardware Devices & manually select driver for your phone,
as it is showing MTP, you should manually select USB Transfer Device Or similar driver.

I have the same issue with my Defy on cyanogenMod 7

I have this problem after upgrade my windows 7 from 32bit to hp 64 version.

I changed to usb mass storage yesterday. And I tried again with usb debugging enabled, it's worked. Thanks.

Where did you find the USB mass storage driver?

no luck finding any here.. on winodws 7

I am using win7 standard driver. Try to install Motorola Media Link if your windows doesn't have it. Click Update driver in Device Manager, and use advance, in pick driver, there're 2 compatible drivers, you can select it from there.

I tried that, but non of the drivers work. Thanks anyway.

Assuming you're using Windows 7,
-Right click on your [My Computer]
-Click [Device Manager]
-Check for MTP Devices, open it & Click on Update Software Driver
-Browse my computer for Driver Software, then Let me pick from List of drivers
-Choose USB & then Generic USB driver
It's gonna work perfectly fine then hopefully

Thanks but no go I guess it's a Win7 X64 problem. It doesn’t matter if it works or not. I never use the portal USB state anyway.
I'm just "anal" about stuff not working on my PC Usually I’m the guy who friends ask about Win problems . I guess it's time to step down from the throne. I didn’t think it would happened in my lifetime :=)

Works fine on w7 x64 enterprise.

have tried it all,
no help, doesn't show my device as MTP device, even my nokia phone is recognized as MTP, but not defy with CM7

This could help you. For me it worked.
I have 'SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse.Drivers.rar' on my computer. I've extracted the Motorola folder with drivers. Went to Device Manager, right click on MTP device and update driver - select manualy - browse to the previously extracted Motorola folder with drivers - select update. After few seconds the drivers were installed.

did that, now I can see that the MTP device shows no problems but when I connect my defy it doesn.t show up on windows as a MTP,
under devices and printers thought it shows all the motorola drivers installed fine

ox not detected by pc

hi guis have one problem, my ox not detected by the pc(xp) sees him only as a camera . i'm on Insert coin 10.1.1 jellybean, rom working ,clocworckmode worcking ,connect to pc not working.can you help me, drivers problem?

thanks for your reply,the problem is MTP (media transfer protocol) my pc is windows xp , and now after installed the jb rom my phone not detected on my pc(only camera yes) any idea?

Seems like you are missing the HTC drivers. Did you install them?

Download HTC sync, and install it. Connect the phone in fast boot mode. On your computer, go to "c: programs /HTC and take the driver that HTC sync installed and copy the folder on the desktop. Then go to device manager, there will be an unknown device (like Android 1.0),right click on it, do proprieties, update driver and locate the driver folder on your desktop. Done :thumbup:

With a recovery booting but with framebuffer troubles (have to check it again with the new kernel..)
Im gonna release a new way to Root our device.
A few weeks ago i found something really weird in my device so i reported it to Nokia security team...now its fixed but Im a little disappointed about that.. but this is another story.
So, lets go with this little guide.
First i must to say, why i should research and wasting my non-time trying or writing new exploits when we have something that still works.

1- Install Nokia Composite ADB Interface (using it from Nokia Usb Drivers folder)

-Plug your phone to your computer
-Go to device manager and find your phone on the list(it should have a punctuation mark for windows 7 users)
-Right click on your phone and install the nokia drivers

Does the 32 bit computer choose the folder of i386 and the 64 bit computer choose the folder of amd64 while installing the nokia drivers?

When I was prompted to choose the location of the driver, I just chose the main nokia folder. Your computer should automatically choose and install whatever driver is needed.

With rooted device:
1. Download update OTA file
2. Copy to SDcard and rename to update.zip
3. Power off phone (press power butom about 15s)
4. Press and Hold Power_Butom & Volume+ Butom until show Nokia text on screen, then the phone will go to recovery mode
5. Choose install zip and brower to update.zip on SDcard
6. Wait the setup complete
7. Reboot phone
8. Done

read somewhere Root Master 1.3.6 works on rooting 11.1.1 can anyone confirm?

It does takes time. No need to worry. Just don't go mad and re-boot your device because manually re-booting the device in process of rooting can brick your device.

it's normal im waiting until 30 minutes? i can't wait n disconnect my phone while rooting process.n my phone not brick.i try to uninstall the driver n reset my phone.n install again nokia usb driver folder n blablabla.doing the root again n still take long time when fetching scripts aaaargh what happen with kingroot :crying:

I fixed it, just download another version Kingo Root from Google

Guys, is there a version of Kingroot available for linux ? I tried to get the ADB working on a Windows7 VM but could not. ADB works fine on Ubuntu .

problem of detecting during kingo root
Answer is just
1) download the attachment:good::good:
2) unzip it by winrar.
3) copy it to sd0(Internal memory) by connecting your nokia x.
4) just restart you device.
5) now connect ur nokia x by selecting usb mode
6) open kingo root
7) remove n then again plug in the usb from nokia x.
8) it will get detected

Need help with my Nokia X drivers

I have rooted my Nokia Xl previously and everything was working fine, while I was trying to install Gapps on my phone with the Nokia X manager on Windows 10, I mistakenly clicked on install insecure kernel, then my phone rebooted and my home button and my camera stopped working and the previously installed Nokia adb usb driver was deleted, I think it deleted some device drivers in my phone....please help I'll be very grateful

Well you should try to fix it with universal toolkit for nokia x and xl. You will get it on XDA. Just search it and connect ur phone with
USB debugging on. then update drivers and fix the camera error too.
