Quick question: Which system app is responsible for "Account & Sync" in settings, at it keeps fc'ing for me?
Eventually i will try to adb push it from another ROM...
/system/app/AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk.
Cyanogenmod wiki for barbones gives a good overview about the most apps which come with android and what they do:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Barebones
To fix the force close, I suggest to wipe cache and dalvik-cache in recovery. This mostly solves it.
Dalvik & cache wipe didnt helped, and looks like this app is not there (atleast not /system/app) are you sure thats the correct app?
I'm not using AOSP ROM.

One hundred percent sure. I guess you get the force close because the apk is not on your phone any more.
Which rom do you use (according to your sig you use oxygen, which is an aosp rom)? I would say, download the rom's corresponding zip file, extract the AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk and move it with adb to place where it is in the zip file (which should be /system/app).
CoolSensation 3d v9, i extracted it from v7 (it's not here in v9) and moved it to the /system/app/ with Root Explorer, but still fc's.

You should update your signature.
Did you reboot after moving it? Otherwise the system does not recognize this move.
Yeah i restarted, no joy. This is really confusing, is it possible coolexe forgot to include it?
I'm too lazy to change signature.

I assume you flashed cm7 version. There one can find "AccountsAndSyncManager.apk" in /sd-ext/app_s (just checked the zip file for v9). Check if it's there. If it's not, download v9 zip file, extract the apk, move it 'back' to /sd-ext/app_s and reboot.
Fixed it with adb pushing .app from v7, thanks

Hello, I've been using this rom for a weeks now, and its works very well and the oc daemon is set to 1,1 GHz (the default value). For security (or fear) I set the frequency to 998MHz and everytime I boot up my phone, it returns to the default value!!
So I was wondering, is it possible to lock the default clockspeed to 998MHz, so I dont have to change the clockspeed everytime I boot?
can someone help me???
Using set cpu it's possible to choose "set on boot" for the clockspeed and the governor ...
Sent from my HTC Desire
the problem is that the demon is inside the ROM, I would not, and there were problems between SetCPU and demon

Then as I manage the demon? I saw that you use the same rom, can I uninstall the application and use SetCPU?
You need to remove both the script and app. Then you can use SetCPU.

Thanks for your time, how do I remove the script?
You need to enable root explorer in File Expert first. After that go to system/etc and you will see folder andrev_oc. Through menu mount File Expert as read/write and delete that folder. Then go to system/app and delete DaemonController.apk and DaemonController.odex
Done.

Thanks! After doing this I can install and configure SetCPU or is it better a reboot before the installation? Little curiosity, if i not install SetCPU or i don't configure it with the check "set on boot" Which clock will use the processor?
Thank you very much for your time
Reboot, just in case.
Default clock. I believe HTC is using ondemand governor.

only these things?
Looking in the thread about the app say they control three positions:
1. navigate to /system/xbin/ and see if there is a 'andrev_oc' file,
2. next navigate to /etc/init.d/ and see if there is '83oc' or 'aroc' file located there (in this position i have "00aroc" file)
3. and finally navigate to /etc/andrev_oc and check if the folder exists and the 6 files for sleep and wake are there.
Thanks Thanks a lot for your patience

I'm trying stock.zip that I found in the thread of the Rom who are using.......
yeah it works!

998400 MHz is default maximum frequency, so even if you do damage to your phone, it certainly won't be because of CPU speed.
I know it's a bit too late to point this out, but before you do any changes to system, do nandroid backup just in case your poking inside Android won't go well. I also advise to backing up ROM regularly in case of emergency, which tends to occur in custom ROMs from time to time. Keep last two backups. You can more, but one of them is 500+ MiB huge, so it's up to you to decide if you have that much of free space on your SD card.
I haven't seen this being used by any dev's(as of yet anyways) and I've been running it for about a week now and its been great!!! Don't feel that it should be kept secret so just click on link and download script!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145
Its pretty basic, here are the instructions from the link:
1) Download attached file (Juwe_Update-19092011_RAM_Script.zip) unzip S97ramscript and put it to /system/etc/init.d with Root Explorer (if you don't have init.d folder, so create new folder and name it to init.d) and set perms of S97ramscript to 777 (rwxrwxrwx)
2) If you have in your init.d folder other script for RAM management (for example Darky's rambooster), so delete it
3) Reboot your phone

Yippers, as mentioned in OP, been running for about a week and its been great man, highly recommend it! Let me know if you need any help! Just need basic knowledge of Root Explorer...
for any Root Explorer noobies who try this: to set perms to 777, just long press the script and wait for the menu to pop up. hit permissions and check everything
its in the linked thread, just thought it would save some digging for those who need the info

not very noob at all. hopefully you are aware of your overall performance in terms of battery life, smoothness, speed prior to running the script. let it run for a day or two and see if there are any differences. of course, with the dual core exynos it might be hard to see any differences in anything besides battery life because its already buttery smooth, but you get the point.

You know, you could simply use Autostarts and prevent most of installed apps from loading automatically on reboot. Not only will you get about 500megs of free ram on boot, the devices will boot faster and smoother.
I think I prefer that method over using dodgy settings which may not be optimized for this particular rom and 1GB of ram that we have.
I am having trouble installing the new Prime Boot annimation..
i flashed the zip but nothing happens .. the same boot annimation that came with the rom is still there.. ?
Unless specified...you don't flash a the bootanimation.zip. Using a program like Root Explorer navigate to the System-Media folder and rename the stock bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bak. That way if you ever want to go back to stock just change the end to .zip.
Then, copy the bootani you want to change to into that same folder. If you're using Root Explorer...long press on the file and change permissions to RW-R-R. Reboot and enjoy your new boot animation.
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/10/08/download-nexus-prime-boot-animation/
The boot animation from the Nexus Prime aka Galaxy Nexus that was teased to us earlier in the week is now available for everyone to play with. The instructions we have are for flashing in Clockwork Recovery, but if you aren’t rooted, you will have to do it the old fashioned way by extracting and moving the bootanimation.zip into /data/local or wherever your particular phone pulls media from.
Sexy, isn’t it?
Download: Nexus_Prime_Boot.zip
Instructions:
1. Download the file from above an drop it on your SD card.
2. Reboot your phone into recovery.
3. Choose “install zip from sd card.”
4. ”Choose zip from sd card.”
5. Select the file you downloaded from above.
6. Once it finishes running choose “Go Back” and then reboot!

Boot animations that are appropriately formatted will work with your phone. The boot animation is not dependent on your kernel, so yes it will.

Try system/customize/resource then. You might have to rename it VZW_bootanimation. Whatever it is rename it that. Just installed it. Its actually pretty cool. Theyre getting better at not sucking when it comes to bootanimations.

Hello
I rooted my HTC Desire 820. But something must have gone wrong, because whenever i use" es explorer" to copy musicfx.apk to the system/app folder the phone just reboots.
The app has root explorer on so as an un-experienced user I am running into a dead end.
Can someone please help me to get this solved so i can install in the system folder.
Or does someone have a solution to get an working equalizer on the phone?
=> the normal equalizer apps from the store don't always work as they sometimes just don't seem to change sound.
As for the build in "boomsound", well it is pretty **** on my phone, bass turns into cracking noise and the highs are to damm high. (Working with sennheiser urbanites and sennheiser 300 CX II so I think its not the hardware)
Thanks in advance
If ur device on s-on, u can't make system app from es file manager.. if u want make musicfx.apk or any app as a system app then copy apps in system app folder and give the permission (rw-r-r) in twrp recovery mode.
In recovery mode first mount system,
Then file manager..

I did that but now when i reboot from recovery (any of the 4 modes) I get rebooted into the recovery part again. There is no way out.
Needed a Factory reset(restore didn't work either)
This bug in the recovery...
Power off ur device from the reboot option and leave it for 1or 2 minutes..then plug the chrger then power on ur device
If this is not worked..
Press volume+and volume-and power button after some time screen goes black and then release the both volumes button nd keep pressing the power button try this mant time..

Try this, download aroma file manager zip file.
save apk files in sd card
now flash aroma zip file in recovery mode and it'll open a file manager. now just locate and copy the apk file from your sd card and paste it to system apps folder in root dictionary. Now reboot your phone and check app list. :fingers-crossed:

Thank you for the reply!
I tried for several hours but I just can't get the specific app to work. Might be a wrong app for my phone. I don't know. So I tried to get the beats audio, which I was used to, and loved with the sennheiser urbanite, from my HTC one x+ on to the HTC 820. This worked (altought it can't be turned off).
Sound is good now but once every reboot the OS tells me " MusicFX(the first apk) has stopped working". I can't seem to find any app through play store, app manager, file manager, that carries this name.
I will make a new post of this problem.

I tried that to. But when i came at a step that said, "open viper and it will ask for update, run update" it just said it could not find one. Then it said the phone doesn't have BUSYBOX yet(wich it had).
Anyway,I had connection and followed all the steps of the guide(link below).
But when the step using busy box came up, pressing the instal button in the app made the phone reboot instantly.
Could this have anything to do with s-on/off?
