problem with the speaker on my Z1C, I installed MIUI and after a few days I noticed that the audio was not working anymore , I went back to stock FW but nothing my speaker not work, headphone and earpiece work properly, please i need help
now the sound does not work even in the earpiece, I have noticed that sometimes comes out headphones plugged in , I try to clean with a cloth inside the audio jack but does not seem to solve anything
No one can help me to understand what kind of problem is ?
When its not working on stock FW I would recommend a check through warranty.

yes l put my z1 in water days before , I have already done and sent in for servicecare , thank you anyway for your help.
Well the water could have been the problem then...
Sadly some Z1Cs are not as water proof as we wish.
I hope you get a fixed device soon

Hello,
i hope someone can help me.
Since 3 days my speaker on the back side of my DHD has a acoustics problem.
It sounds very metal and a bit like rasping sound.
Perhaps you should know, that i opened the back case some days before, but i don´t know if it started after this or some days later -.-
Do you think it´s a problem with the hardware or perhaps can it also be a software problem? at the moment i have Runny mede 3D version 3.3 . ( i also did a restore in the last 2 days with clockwork manager, perhaps this is also from interest )
hopefully someone can help me
Sounds like a hardware problem. I've never opened it before but did you properly reconnect the speaker cable? If it has one.

Now i didn´t tryed, perhaps i have a look, but i think i didn´t changed or touched anything of the electronic. I only took of the back case to change the color.
But i will try to reconnect the speaker. thanks
i tried searching the forum but couldnt find any info on it.
the external speaker on the htc one x stopped working but if you tap the back casing the speaker works for few hours and then the problem comes back again. i tried flashing a new rom it works for a bit and and then had the same problem again. is there any suggestions what could be done to solve this issue?

found the fix. it was the contacts that connects the speaker module to the board, may be the contacts( the same type of pins that caused the wifi issue) on my HOX got pressed too much i guess, probably going to solder the pins when i get home as of now have it taped up for the testing
i had the same problem when i openned my HOX, after closing, back button led and speaker didn't work, i disassembled and reassembled again and it works, so watch out if you'll open it!
I see ... Hope you get it fixed then
soldered all four connection, did a test didnt work so i played with the speaker connection a bit and it worked. i guess the speaker had a loose connection or something as of now placed a bit of masking tape and closed the housing. working so far now. i guess the problem is with the chip where speaker is plugged
Had the exact same problem, although it degraded to the point that tapping the grille only brought sound back for a second in the end.
Got HTC to repair it along with the wifi.

I don't have warranty Canada is nt covered for global warranty. For now I will just leave it like this. If sadly problem came back then I will take it to HTC.
Hello,
I have noticed whenever i play any sort of audio from my phone at max or one or two levels below the max it is very crackly and it really annoys me. I never had this problem before so what I suspect is that it's CM12 as it does not have an option for BoomSound under Sound. Is it possible to port it over from GPE? or is this a hardware issue not software?
Got this problem too on with Xenon HD.

I also now have a permanently damaged speaker from flashing a cm12 based Rom. Yes, speaker distortion was one of the known bugs for m8 cm12 based roms, but, I do not feel that it was made clear that by flashing it, could cause permanent hardware damage to the speaker(s). I flashed straight back to sense and the speaker, as you say, at max volume and two steps below, kind of "rattles". I can put up with it as it isn't that bad, but it is annoying. I can't get rid of this rattle now, so I am presuming that it is permanent hardware damaged.

Well I guess I will need to get the speakers replaced and let you know how I get on. At first I thought it would be my HK firmware but it didn't fix it by flashing stock firmware.

Hey man, I didn't do the repair for a while as I didn't want to open up my phone just to replace the speaker but today I had to replace my battery and charging port so I ordered the speaker too. I have to say the repair was very easy and it works perfect now
Hey,
I recently got my phone back from an RMA and my the phone's ear speaker doesn't work at all. This prevents me from using my phone as a phone unless I use speaker phone which is not ideal in most situations. I really don't want to send the phone away on another RMA for what is probably a small hardware misconfiguration, does anyone know of how to fix this a resource for doing so? I am having no luck on google.
Thanks,
E. Lensherr.

I had encountered the same problem with my old HTC ONE X. When I searched on net I found that many people like me were there facing this problem. I adopted one suggestion from there and installed a third party app 'SOUNDABOUT'. Now with the help of this third party app sound can be routed via desired channel (Speaker, Head Phone, ear piece or blue tooth devices).
Hope this solves the issue.
Thanks.

Sent my phone in for an RMA (Repair) last week, still waiting on getting it back.
I opened mine up today to replace a cracked screen and kind of looked where the earpiece speaker is behind the mounting frame and kind of push the contacts out a little. Im thinking maybe it wasn't making a good connection. But nonetheless it works now. I dont know if it was because of that or just my luck at taking it apart and putting it back together.
Recently I found that my headphones were cutting out I tired other ones and still the same thing. They cut out every time the inserted jack moves a little. There also seems to be some screen flex in the middle right edge of my screen every time I move the jack around inside the phone. I've contacted Sony and my phone is being sent in for repairs. I don't know if it's my fault of a defect. I'll post again soon give and update on the situation if they'll fix it of I'll have to pay them to fix it.

On my xperia the headphone sound cuts out when i twist it in a circular motion in the headphone jack. Its really weird. I hope the problem doesn't get worse for me.

Oh crap, have you gotten your Z5p wet in the water? I did that with mine and it usually takes a full day for it to fully dry before the ports start working well again.

No. Even tho i know that the Z5P is water-proof mine never had any contact with water but I took my Z2 with me into the bath lots of time and never had any problem like that.
