Sorry if this is yet another return to stock question.
I'm currently running a custom 4.4.2 ROM but am having some data issues. I'm wanting to return to stock to get OTA to 4.4.4 so I can get the updated LTE radio. Here's my question: If I flash the stock firmware, is it going to prevent OTA updates since I still have the MDL bootloader? My phone's out of warranty so I could care less about knox. Should I flash stock 4.4.2 or go all the way back to 4.3 (if that's possible/won't brick my phone)?
Current setup:
ROM: 4.4.2 - Insane KitKat V11 (Really like this ROM btw)
Kernel: 3.4.0 talexop
Baseband: NB4
Bootloader: MDL
Thanks
Nandroid, flash 4.4.4 NH7 firmware, flash recovery, then restore nandroid

When i enter download mode i have the Knox status of 0x0. So my question is can i downgrade to 4.1.2 using stock firmware? I ask because i heard only MK3 and above cannot downgrade back, so since mine is MK1 i can downgrade?
And will the knox indicator remain there? Or i'll get the old status without the knox indicator in download mode?
Since I'm not rooted, I don't have EFS backup.
Basically if i go Flash 4.1.2 firmware will I lost IMEI?
Thanks, i'll appreciated any help!
Didn't try to go back to stock 4.1.2, however I used miui (4.1.2) after I was using stock 4.3.
I think it should work using Odin.
And You won't have knox on 4.1.2.
(just don't forget to wipe data).

So I was running Danvdh's 4.4.2 Google Edition ROM, and the hybrid MK2/MDL modem from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544612.
I flashed back to MDL stock (downloaded the MDL firmware from SamMobile, and found stock MDL baseband (without MK2) to go back to complete 4.2.2 stock. Then I updated via Kies to 4.3 with the MK2 baseband and bootloader (obtaining Knox). I then updated to 4.4 via the OTA because Kies 3 said that MK2 was the latest firmware for my device.
After all that, I was on stock 4.4 NB4, and used CF-AutoRoot to root. I odin'd TWRP so I could put a custom kernel on (I remember 4.2.2 had a root-checker to prevent root from staying in the /system folder). After making a backup with onandroid, I was playing around with my GP ROM to see if the backup still worked. It did so I went back to the NB4 backup and I no longer had service, and wifi didn't work. I've tried flashing via odin the MDL modem, MK2 modem, NB4 modem; nothing works. Menu states that the baseband is "Unknown." However, when I reflashed the GP ROM, everything works again.
So...TL;DR I made a backup of stock rooted 4.4, but it was corrupted and now I can't go back to stock until someone uploads the full firmware or a backup.
Hi first of all I want to ask that I had stock 4.1.2 when I bought the phone, rooted it, flashed mj5 bootloader and successfully flashed the xperia z-ized rom based on 4.3 on my N7100. Then I wished to switch to dn3 rom but I still did not like it so I reverted back to stock 4.1.2 and updated to stock 4.4.2 via OTA updates. My question is, while updating via OTA to stock 4.4.2, can it be possible that I lost my mj5 bootloader and it was replaced by samsung's proprietary bootloader?
After using stock 4.4.2 I thought to check out the LS rom so I rooted, flashed philz recovery but the ROM does not boot at all and while trying to revert back to stock 4.1.2, ODIN displays the fail message. What did I do wrong and what should I do to overcome this? Thanks.
You've locked your bootloader because you upgraded to latest official which also comes with Knoxx.
My SGH-T999 currently has slimkat 4.4.4 I have searched through this thread to see if it possible to go back down to back down to 4.3, however it appears that the because 4.4.4 has new bootloader this cannot be done and could brick the phone due to knox? Can anyone confirm this for me?
Are you looking to flashing the stock full firmware or a custom rom? You only flashed a 4.4.4 ROM not firmware, and there is no official 4.4.4 for any of our S3 variants, only 4.4.2. T999 doesn't even have a 4.4.2 update as of now, so you can go back to 4.3 firmware if you would like

Yes, I'm trying to flash back to the 4.3 stock image. Basically I have rooted, and flashed a custom Rom (slimkat) and I would like to back to the stock experience.

Then yes, you can flash the stock firmware
Just making sure I can downgrade from my 4.4.4 Slimkat Rom without bricking my phone, using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2363882
Baseband: I747UCDLK3
Build: slim_d2lte-userdebug 4.4.4 KTU84P 5242 test-keys
Thanks for the help, I want to make sure before I go into bricking my phone trying to revert back to stock.
As long as you do not have the 4.3 or 4.4.2 bootloader, you should be fine to flash the stock LK3 firmware from sammobile.com too.
