roughmouth, I have the same problem on three lg Optimus f3 (android 4.1.2 ) phones. We just switched from t-mobile to att. I didn't realize it was happening when the phone switched from wifi to the cell network (4g lte), but that makes sense. As you probably know 122 is the number that is being messaged, and the long # is the content of the message. This started happening when I unlocked the phone from t-mobile, switched to ATT and reset the APN because I was not getting data over the att cell network. I called att support and the rep, who was very knowledgable, checked the mms setup - no problems there. she could not identify the problem and my version of android does not have a way to block text numbers. The other thing that occurs to me is that in changing the APN info I used setup data I got off an android forum, because the setup info I got from att support did not work. So it is possible that data in one of the fields I entered, which included MMSC, MMS proxy, etc. is the cause of the outgoing message that then gets kicked back because 122 is not a valid text address. I am not knowledgeable about this stuff.

Harrier, Sprint -> Verizon switch OK, ghosts lurk in roam

After switching my PPC6600 to Verizon, it mostly works, but a couple issues remain.
First of all, here is what I have done:
1. Loaded Verizon's firmware, which changed the radio and Ext ROM.
2. Switched SID/NID to a Verizon number.
3. Loaded a Verizon PRL.
4. Entered proper MDN and MSID.
Here is where the ghost remains:
Under Roaming, there are Home Only, Sprint(!), and AB.
Why doesn't that say Verizon now? Also, if I tap the Antenna symbol on the header, it says Sprint PCS!
If I set roaming to Home Only, I can make and receive calls & txt messages.
If I set roaming to Sprint, I can place calls, but incoming go direct to voicemail.
Also, my data connection does not work (CDMA wireless) and I have a hunch it's related. It dials, but then says "The answering modem has disconnected".
Any ideas? Thanks!
Got data working!!!!!!!!
Under 3G Data1 I switched from "MIP Pref" to "No IP" and now my CDMA data connection works! I am getting only 1X speeds (100-120 kbps), so now I need to find why EVDO isn't working (I'm pretty sure we have it here).
Still can't figure how the Sprint labels show up after I flashed all the ROM's though!
I love this idea; please consider making a HOWTO for this.
I love this idea; please consider making a HOWTO for this.
I am weary of Sprint and envious of EVDO for the BlueAngel.
Could you document what you've done so far?
EVDO different carrier
Same problem, trying to make work verizon on mexican Iusacell. 1x works, but when trying setting MIP Only or MIP Preferd, i get "No modem at abothe number" I tryed all the roms I found on the net, nothing works. There MAY! be some aditional ROM storing phone settings like number, passwords, SID, MIN and all the settings refered to the data & Phone.
With Samsung i730 i Tryed QPST, but it doesn't recognize 6600, any 1 Know about som software capable to conect to the phone???
you are using a HA01 "EVDO" radio rom correct? latest version i've found is HA01-156

My HTC Evo is reading Verizon wireless when y dial *228 to set up the device.

Sometimes get some american blabla network.
Phone is rooted and with metrodroid 1.2
The cyanogen doesnt give me option to go to ##3424# or ##3282#
And not getting into ##775# at all.
Some help would be appreciated
the ESN is added to metropcs inventory and with a working phone number.
Need it really bad.

Double check to make sure the Metro PCS PRL sticks. Go to Settings > About Phone > Status and look under PRL.
Also, check to see if your number shows up under "My phone number."

Settings as follow,,,
Phone number - Correct XXX-XXX-XXXX
Current username - [email protected]
Android 2.2 version
Baseband 2.15.00.07.28
Build Number - MetroDroid 1.2
PRI Version 1.77_003
PRL 02004
if more info is needed, let me know
That's strange. How about under MIN? There should be a number that looks like a phone number there.
You could also try going to the Sprint OTA and *228 from there

Metro has a roaming agreement with verizon. When in one of these roaming zones or sometimes when metro is doing some system maintenance this scenario you describe will occur. When you leave that roaming zone or metro finishes with their system maintenance, whatever the case. Your phone should then just go back to working as before.

I've been trying to set it up for 4 days in a roll and its given me only headaches ..lol...
that's why I really need help here.... I have tried few ROM's but it seens to not help at all,,,
Let me ask, is that normal when I go back to QPST -> PPP Config
the Password field be empty? or should there be something that was set before?
Is the prl file to be uploaded to ROAM tab right?
what prl have anybody up running on evo metro?
The EVO will not work on NY. Since there is not PCS band in NY
NY,NJ and some others states only use AWS band which is a new frecuency band not supported by the EVO,
thats why you're on roaming, your EVO can't see any metro network even if you have the latest metro PRL

Help using S3 overseas

I just received my unlocked ATT S3, rooted it, cut my sim card down and setup all my apps etc. Problem is that I am having really sporadic network access issues. I am currently in Afghanistan and using AWCC. I had the same sim card in a Skyrocket and didn't have any issues. I have setup the APN (I pay for unlimited edge internet) and randomly get internet access and network access.
Right now I show 3 bars
Info shows
Network: AF AWCC
Signal Strength -89dBm 12 asu
Mobile Network type: Edge:2
Service State: In Service
When I try to check my balance (*123# dial) It says connection problem or invalid MMI code EDIT: sometimes it goes through and I get my balance.
When I try to make a call it just says dialing then goes to Call Ended after about 30 seconds. Same thing happens when I try to call AWCC customer service at 151 (actually I just got through on the 151 number once)
When I go to Settings/More Settings, Network Operators and try manual settings, about half the time I see the awcc network but it always fails to connect. If I leave it is automatic, it will eventually connect. Right now it is showing AWCC in the top menu bar. Other times it says not registered on the network. FYI AWCC doesn't register the sim card to a specific phone. You just buy the sim card without giving any info about your phone.
Every once in awhile it connects as I received emails on the phone over night. As I am typing this I just got edge connectivity and am online.
So, anyone have any suggestions? Maybe I should try flashing another modem?
Thanks

AT&T Incoming Call to Voicemail. AT&T users I need you help

I need AT&T users to test this for me. On my wife's 5X on AT&T it seems like every call goes to voicemail first but if you call back it will ring. Could someone test and see if they are getting this? If not do you know how to fix? Thanks
I'm receiving calls just fine on mine. I'm on att trough net10 though so I'm not sure if that's different.
I'm on AT&T and no trouble receiving calls for me.
So odd, spent some time with att on the phone. My suspicion is that when a call is coming in since we do not have volte it drops to h+ which has a weak signal and goes to vm... When will att allow volte for not att phones?! Thanks all
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
if you haven't yet, I would reset/flash as new without sim and then reinsert sim and go through setup as stock. No google voice or hangouts or forwarding and see what happens.
my 5x hadoffs between lte and h+ happen a bit depending where I am at my house, and I don't have any problems. MY last thought is check airplane and do not dusturb, but still. I would start at the beginning.
maybe you've already done this.

I also have AT&T, and no problems receiving phone calls. I had to get a new SIM card when I got the phone (nano SIM to replace the micro SIM that I had used in my old Nexus 5). I noticed that the APN that was the default on this phone is "ATT Nextgenphone", instead of the "ATT Phone" APN that my old Nexus 5 used. The old "ATT Phone" still shows up as an option, but I figured that I'd just leave it as is (on the "ATT Nextgenphone" APN. I don't know much about it, but from googling around, I believe that this APN is for VoLTE. (http://developer.att.com/technical-library/apns/apn-descriptions-and-characteristics). Might want to check APN settings and see if you can change it to Nextgenphone.

Thanks but hers is also on that apn. I'm going to send it back to google and try a different unit. According to everything I have read VOLTE is only available on AT&T if you have their specific phones. I hope that changes soon but if I'm wrong and you are getting VOLTE please tell me. Of course the easiest way to test is to turn off wifi and while you are on LTE have someone call you and see if it drops to H or H+ or if it stays on LTE. Thanks!
I am am also having this same issue. People trying to call me are getting call failed messages and they have to dial 5 or 6 times before the call actually connects. I did you get a solution?

Unlocked Sprint Note 5 on AT&T

So I recently move service over to AT&T. I have an unlocked Note 5 from Sprint (SM-N920P). It activated fine, but it did not have Data. I created the new APN and now I have 3G data.
I can not get 4g coverage anywhere... I should be able to use bands 2 and 4 with ATT&T. I have made sure LTE is enabled in ##3282#
Also, (this just started happening) when someone calls me, their number shows up as +86 5237-1234 instead of (865)237-1234
Oh, and update profile and update PRL seem to call sprint servers still because they wil not connect and error out.
Any ideas?
