Which G-App should I use with Maclaw Cyanogen 11 ROM ? - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

[EDIT] Fix in the post below for the flashing problem. I explained my G-App problem on the post below.
Hello,
recently I flashed CWM 5.0.2.7 "ext4+rfs" on my Galaxy Gio and made a Nandroid backup. After having made a Wipe data/Factory reset, then wiping cache and Dalvik-cache, I installed this ROM (Cyanogenmod 10.2 for Gio) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448578
Now my problem is that the phone won't get past the Cyanogenmod loading screen, and I can't restore the Nandroid backup because of a "E:format_volume: format_rfs_device failed on /dev/block/stl12 Error while formatting /system!" message.
If it is possible, I woud really like to either have a solution to get my phone working with the factory ROM that is contained within the Nandroid backup or to fix the loading screen.
Thank you.

I fixed the problem by using a .zip which had empty /system and /data partitions then updated the phone with it.
Now, I installed the Maclaw Cyanogen 11 ROM and have another problem, I can't get any GAPP working with that ROM.
When I flash the G-APPS zip, it tells me the update was succesful, but the apps never appear.
Any leads ?
Thanks.

[Q] defy help can't restore backup or install new rom

hello everyone i am new but i have read many posts and none of them have helped me, ok i can't seem to restore any of my backups or install a new rom
i have installed cm 10 before this
(mb525 red lenses)
i have tried doing this many times:
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/t-1412358.html (were i got the firmware.sbf Fixed SBF file from)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818520
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618718
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054447
(and lots more)
so i restore from an sbf file the ones i have tried:
JORDN_U3_6.36.0_SIGNED_USAJRDNTMOB1B4B5DE1028.0R_JORDANTMO_P022_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf
JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf
when i restore from them i use SuperOneClick v2.3.1 to root then i install the SndInitDefy_2.3.apk
when i do that i can't boot into boot menu unless i flash firmware.sbf after installing it and when i do that i can't go back into stock
or if i use defy_recovery-1218-0326-signed.apk to get into a old clockwork that wont restore back ups and it installs the rom way to fast so it isn't installing at all it just says it is and then if i reboot it boot loops i have tried wiping in every way before and after but what i can do is install
touchbootmenuV2.0beta_multibootV0.8-20120829-signed.zip that gives me a newer clockwork mod but half the time the sd card or the cashe won't mount but when they do system and data can not be restored to and when i install a rom it boot loops but it installs slower than before but still to fast
and when ever i get a boot loop i have to start this all over again i have been looking everywhere but i cant find a way to fix this i have also tried flashing different kernels before and after flashing the rom and using defy_fullwipe_ext3.zip and defy_fullwipe_ext4.zip but i think the problem is that i can't restore system or data
anything would be very help full
thanks.

ok, i was able to get cm 7 on my phone today by doing this:
Flash this SBF file: JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf
Root my phone with super one click
Install 2nd Init 1.4.2
Flash Fixed SBF: firmware.sbf
Reboot to CMW recovery, and wipe Data/Cache.
Restore this Nandroid Backup: 2011-06-11.14.14.27
Install CM7 then install Google Apps.
but when i do this and try to install:
CM10-20120924-NIGHTLY-mb525.zip
CM10-20121205-NIGHTLY-mb526.zip
CM10-20121204-NIGHTLY-mb526.zip
after it flashes the blue led it flashes red then reboots
another update i was able to get cm 7 on my phone but now i only have 128mb i have tried:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162464
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/35640-internal-space-only-128mb-language-resets-at-reboot/
they did not help me i'm starting to hate this phone
and if i do a stock wipe before installing cm7 it does nothing but with miui it doesnt boot at all
i fixed it
i flashed
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-137_ND_SIGN_SIGNED_UCADEFYEMARAB1B80AA004.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNGIBRRTNORD_P009_A011_HWp3_Service1FF
then stock factory wipe in stock recovery then rooted with SuperOneClick Installed 2ndinitDefy 1.4.2
then i got the error: E:Can't make /tmp/update_binary
fixed it with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540372
Then a CWM factory wipe
Then flashed CM10 and gapps
now it works with full sized data partition and everything

[Q] unable to wipe cache or restore to it

Long story short, I've spend the better part of 2 days trying to get my phone to working order.
I tried to flash the stock 4.0.4 rom into my phone. After I did that, the radio stopped working so i wanted to go back to my previous All-star-v7 rom that i had backup in the external sdcard.
When I was installing 4.0.4 i had to switch from CWM to TWRP to get it to install. I switched back to CWM using ODIN but now when i try to wipe the phone so i can restore a backup, it hangs up on wiping /cache and if i try to restore it hangs up on restoring cache....
What do i do? I had used the infamous super wipe and cache wipe to get the phone into 4.0.4 I think i messed up something because of using those...
update: Strangely, I can restore a backup of 2.3.6 and even though it hangs on restoring /cache. I restart the phone and it boots up to it. I also find that google play is unable to update any of my apps, it looks like it's because of the corrupted /cache. how would i fix it?
update2: i used odin to flash into TWRP 2.6.3.1 and did a cache wipe and it's stuck at "unable to open '/cache/recovery/.version'. anyone know how to fix that?

[SOLVED] Unable to install custom rom after modem upgrade

Hello,
I have a unique issue. I'm having a problem installing any custom rom on my t999 (tmobile). I have been using a custom rom for over a year. Always used TWRP. Started with Paranoid Android and for the last few months I've been using PAC-Man (nightly) roms. I was having gps lock issues, I decided to upgrade the modem to a leaked UVUEMJC, this fixed the gps lock issue. But after the reboot, I was stuck on bootloader screen. The only way I could get the rom to work was to backup the rom, flash the system and data, and after that, the rom would work until reboot. I did this a few times until it stopped working. My efs was corrupted, IMEI missing, To recover it, I went into download mode, and noticed in red Warranty bit =1. I used odin to flashed a rooted cf 4.3 samsung touchwiz rom (root66_TMO_T999UVUEMJC). All imei/efs issues were fixed. I decided to try installing a custom rom again, PAC-Man rom, it installed just fine, all EFS/IMEI info was intact, but at reboot, I got stuck on the CM bootlogo. This happens everytime. IF I recover a backup, it gets stuck on the boot logo. I'm using TWRP v2.6.3.
Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Thanks!
Install TWRP 2.6.3.1. Then take a Nandroid.
Next wipe /Data. Then flash your Custom Rom. Wipe Dalvik + Cache after the Flash. Reboot and report.

Thanks for the help!
I'm also having trouble flashing PAC-man.
SGH-T999LUVUBMK4
Factory reset everything, wiped SD card.
Tried latest TWRP and CWM.
Suggestions?

[Q] Primou Omega Stuck at inital boot.

I have downloaded and installed Primou Omega ROM. I have followed the instructions in the thread. Every thing went very well untill first boot. Now the phone is stuck at CyanogenMod Logo. I have waited for almost for one hour hoping that it will complete. But noting is happening. I tried twice but same result. Here are the steps that i followed.
Unlocked bootloader.
Rooted device.
Installed ClockworkMod.
Download Primou Omega.
Download Google Apps.
Booted into ClockworkMod.
Done a Data wipe.
Wiped dalvik cache.
Done Format system (From Mounts and storage).
Installed Primou Omega ROM (Install zip from SD card).
Installed Gapps.
Rebooted the system.
Before doing these steps i took a backup of the stock ROM so i was able to restore it.
Now, i'm i missing something. I'm new to flashing new ROM etc... Is there a error log of the installation process so that i can post it in the forum.
Please help.
EDIT: Issue Resolved I had to use a different Kernel (CM 10).And it booted with out any issue. Didn't find any issue till now....

Wiped Internal Storage; now phone reboots on loading ROMs

Hey guys,
So last night I accidentally wiped internal storage in TWRP. I guess that messed up my partitions or something, I don't know. Anyway, I can still access recovery, and I've tried to do a restore (one that I made back when I was on stock 4.4.2 I think) but after that it tries to boot, gets to "Android is upgrading... Optimizing app Y of X." and once that operation completes it shows the lockscreen for about a tenth of a second, and the phone reboots.
I'm stumped. Anyone know what can I do?
Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times. For some reason the search function in the forums isn't working for me. And I've been looking for a solution all morning.
EDIT: FYI when I tried the restore I did only System and Data and not Boot, because I was afraid that'd cause more problems.
Did you try restoring and performing a factory wipe before booting the newly-restored ROM?
It seems that Marshmallow based roms aren't working, but Lollipop ones will boot. Not sure why as I didn't have any problem with the same MM roms in the past.
More info:
MM roms wont flash in TWRP; after the failed attempt, TWRP says system cannot be mounted until I either wipe or install a 12.1 rom.
Tried to install a stock rom (4.4.2) and it failed in TWRP. Just says "Error Flashing"
Are you performing a full wipe (system, Dalvik, cache, data) before installing or restoring a ROM? Is the phone running the latest version of TWRP?

Yes to full wipe. TWRP is 2.8.7.0, so yeah I think it's the newest? Not 100% sure.
Wiping internal storage should not affect the partitions. I'm not sure that TWRP even has the ability to change partitions.
Yes, 2.8.7.0 is the latester version of TWRP.
If you are on the nj2 bootloader, try flashing this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/general/rooted-ucufnj1-stock-rom-t2985006
Welp, seems to be all good now. Not sure if I really did anything to fix it or not. I tried to install a stock ROM but it wouldn't boot (stuck on Samsung logo) but after that my CM13 ROM installed properly again. The one CM13 ROM I have still wont install at all - maybe that file became corrupt or something? Not sure if that's even possible.
Either way I'm all fixed up. Thanks for all your help.
Cheers
Glad you got it sorted out. If you do figure out what you did to get it working, post your answer as it may help others that are in a similar situation.
