Hello, my dumb ass decided to root using CFRoot, then it said it failed so I tried to flash the CFAutoRoot in Odin. Well, I tried booting my phone, after saying f*** it, and now I'm greeted with 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.' what can I do? I just bought this phone, so if I screwed it up, I'm in trouble.
What phone and what rom is it running?

SGH-I747(AT&T Samsung Galaxy 3), and the stock 4.3 rom
Unfortunately, there is no way to flash a stock AT&T 4.3 ROM to this phone as AT&T never released a full ROM, only an update.
Did you try reconnecting it to Kies to try and re-flash?

Does Kies detect your phone at all? Is there a recover option? Sorry, I haven't used Kies for a long time so I don't remember what options are available.
Maybe this will help: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/faq/FAQ00052703/61329

I went to tools -> Firmware upgrade and initialization, entered my model # & S/N, and it's 'Downloading file for firmware emergency recovery of 'GALAXY S III '(SGH-I747)' from the server...' so it says, which I got to from Kies. Should I let it run its course?

I'm not sure as I have never used this Kies option. I have always re-flashed via Odin. Your case is different because there is no full 4.3 AT&T Rom that can be flashed via Odin.
Is there any warranty on your phone?

Looks like you tripped the Knox counter when you tried to root the phone. Did you get it from AT&T? Maybe you could take it back and get it exchanged for another one since it got pooched while running Kies?

I got it from Walmart because AT&T was going to take two hours, lol. And, how would I go about doing that? I'm not a good liar, and I don't know how I pooched it lol

Well, if you take it to an AT&T or Walmart store, they may not care that you tripped the counter. If they send it in to Samsung for repair, they may not care either. However, there's always the chance that AT&T/Walmart/Samsung would allow repairing the phone at no charge.

You would need to install a custom recovery in order to flash a custom ROM. A custom recovery can be installed via Odin if you find the right file.
Do not flash any stock Samsung 4.3 ROM or a custom rom unless Knox has been removed.

Are you running the latest version of CWM? If you can't boot into your OS, how do you know you are rooted?
Flashing another ROM will remove knox.
Copy a custom rom to a microSD card (do not unzip the ROM which is a single zip file), boot into recovery mode, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe Dalvik, and install the ROM from SDcard1.
I have the latest experimental Cyanfox on my i747m from here: http://cyanfox-rom.com/downloads/?folder=d2att/

For recovery, are you holding the home button, volume up, and then pressing and holding power? You need to hold all 3 until you see some blue text appear on the screen, then let go of the power button.
I'm trying to downgrade my i747 from CM11 back to stock AT&T firmware but I'm unable to. I've done hours of searching and reading posts, coming up with dead ends.. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I can't seem to find an official original AT&T image, I did find a "rooted leaked" image.. but when I try to flash it with Oden it fails and the phone says "SW New Check Fail: Fused 2 > binary 0"
I ran the triangle away, tried a few different roms... I can re-image CM but not anything older. Is there a thread that explains where I can find the proper AT&T stock rom and roll back from CM11?
If you have the stock 4.3 bootloader, you cannot use Odin to flash a stock AT&T 4.3 ROM because AT&T never made a flashable 4.3 ROM available. AT&T only made 4.3 available as an OTA update to an existing ROM.
Thanks, so what are my options if any? I installed the CM11 through their http://get.cm site so I'm not sure what exactly they're doing but the end result is I have CM11, ODIN for the updater, and CWM. Can I downgrade to an older version then and just perform carrier updates to 4.3? If not is it safe to flash some other third party ROM? Or am I stuck on CM11?
-Keith
Boot into download mode and let us know what it says on the screen. This will help us determine if you have the 4.3 bootloader on your phone.
Download mode says:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-I747
Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 Counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Official
Qualcom Secureboot: Enable
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader AP SWREV: 2

I'm thinking of trying the approach that I found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
Unless any reason's why I shouldn't, it seems people have been successful with that pseudo 'stock' build.
Based on your download info screen, you have the 4.3 bootloader and the link you provided would be a good choice.
If you didn't have the 4.3 bootloader, you could have flashed a stock 4.1.1 ROM via Odin. With a 4.3 bootloader, you cannot use Odin.
I tried that link but the flash failed..
format() expects 3 args, got 5
E:Error in /external_sd/ATT_i747_UCUEMJB_StockRestore_CWM_2282014.zip
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted.
Ugh..
Status 7 errors can be caused by using an outdated recovery.
I have 6.0.4.7 installed and downloaded the ZIP that says it's for that version but I keep getting the same error.
Maybe the ROM download is corrupt?

Did you verify the MD5 of the zip you downloaded? I haven't seen any other report of this not working as it is the definitive solution for returning to stock 4.3.It's possible your download wasn't complete or, as Audit suggested, the zip was corrupted in some way.
I downloaded a different recovery as suggested and was able to flash that way. I'm finally back on the pseudo-stock AT&T firmware and aside from one strange popup everything seems to be working great. Thanks for the help everyone,

Are you flashing via Odin or from CWM? Philz Touch can be flashed from either (i.e. the zip for flashing from an SD card and tar for Odin).

I assume you can boot into download mode so use the latest tar version of Philz to flash recovery. Philz is based off the latest CWM.
https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/
Place the file in the PDA box, don't check anything except F.reset. Flash the file, once you see reset in the status window, remove USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, boot into recovery.

No it's cwm 6.0.3.6, I tried every possible way, I think, of flashing a new recovery but it keeps loading back to this.
I have a big problem with my Note 2.
It is completely frozen at the Galaxy Note screen when it very first turns on. It also freezes at the rotating circle when I plug it in to the charger.
I can access Download/ODIN Mode. I have tried flashing 4.3 again, Odin succeeded but it changed nothing.
I have tried and can not access recovery mode before/after the 4.3 flash.
I have a feeling I'm completely screwed, buy maybe not? What can I do?
Thanks!

Yes, I tried this too. Did not work.
Also, (I bought this off a friend btw), in download mode it says Knox Warranty Void: 1

It means Knox security that was implemented detected something it did not like. Like maybe rooting.
Really not to much of a deal since warranty is probably not an option for you since you got it from someone else.
On my phone and not a lot of time. In this forum find a thread by me about getting to MK6 OTA via 4.1.1 stock.
I think it's post #2 that talks about param/tz file. Download that and flash via ODIN
That should work

My Samsung note 2 won't move from the boot screen. It does boot into recovery when I press the buttons but it won't mount any files. Sideloading works through ADB but then that's just about it as it gives me errors. Tried to use Odin to unbrick it but it keeps giving me errors. What do I do? How do I unbrick my phone? I have posted a screenshot of the errors I am getting. Can someone please advise on what I should do?

I have almost a same situation here with my brothers phone. I don't know why, but every time he manages to brick it like that. When booting into recovery from rom (power menu), it crashes the phone and it gets in a bootloop trying to get into the recovery.
What I did:
- Reflash recovery through odin (odin succes, phone fail)
- Reflash recovery through odin and erase nand (same...)
The only fix I found was to flash the stock rom and nand erase through odin, then flash the recovery (twrp 2.8.6.0), erase almost everything (sys, data, cache) and flash custom rom.
Looking at your pic, after nand write it fails, it could be that your nand chip is dead, and if it is like that, move to an other phone, it isn't worth to get a new mobo for your phone, those things cost more than 100 euro and a great new phone would get about 250 from you (like that asus zenfone, I think that is the one you should aim for if you want mid class to high class phones)

IMEI is the same as the one on the phone. I believe I must have installed the wrong ROM. I installed the N7100XXUFNL1 one which said Pakistan but then now that I checked it again, I found out it was for Nigeria, UAE, etc (which share the same CSC). Now I am downloading the N7100XXUFND4 one. Hope it makes a difference. I did backup my IMEI etc incase there is an issue.

Samsung had made efs partition update when released 4.3 if I remember well. This update was making by the kernel when was flashing the fw was updating the efs too. If you haven't flash original firmware via odin 4.3 or later probably your efs is not updated. Try to flash original fw via odin, I think it will work.

So I pretty muched messed up while trying to flash my phone and was going to factory reset it to start back over. I was using KingoRoot on pc to establish root then unlock the bootloader etc. After running the adb commands to unlock the bootloader the phone reset, ran again to finish commands and lucky me once it went to reboot it started bootlooping. The bootloader unlock procedure essentially corrupts your sd card. You need to reformat the whole thing since it becomes riddled with insane partitions during the process. You didn't do anything wrong, you just need to remove the card after you unlock and then reformat it later.
lmfao u stated u had 5.1.1 .....
