When I try to send messages it tells me that an error occurred and that it couldn't send the message. I don't know how this can be, because it retrieves my mail, it just won't send it. ???
You mean with Pocket Outlook using SMTP? (You must be a yahoo plus subscriber)
I have the same problem and managed to trace it down to the following:
The built in SMTP program does not authenticate itself 100% by the book. Can't tell exactly but I saw in the server log that it did something funny after HELO.
This causes some mail servers (on the receiving end) to ignore the mail entirely or think it's spam.
I only have this issue with my yahoo account though. Others (e.g. gmail) work fine from Outlook.
Hope it gets fixed in WM6...
T-mobile has a work around.
1) Go to T-Mobile and setup a email forwarding account (Set your phone as a MDA NOT A Dash
2) Turn off email forarding for incoming
3) ON Dash - Change outgoing SMTP to: myemail.t-mobile.com
4) Change user name (Use different than login - because you will still login to Yahoo using the pop or IMAP server to your10digitphonenumber:1
5) password is your yahoo password
Also change NO SSL on outgoing, and outgoing requires authentican checked.
This is also required if you use the dash as a modem on your laptop. I could not sent SMTP Trough T-mobile connectiosnt o laptop, but could if connected via a wifi connection that was not t-mobile.

I have wm6, it used to work. I will try that, but i don't see why it just stopped working all the sudden when it used to....
I had a couple of questions about my phone I was hoping you smart fellows could help me with.
1: I have a phantom SMS message. I deleted every message in every mail box, but the mail icon still says I have 1 unread message. My inbox shows no messages, but if I look at the folder tree, it has a (1) next to it.
2: I occasionally get an SMS error saying a message couldn't be sent. This message notification wont go away no matter how many times I click dismiss. The only way to get rid of it is to reset the phone.
3: I created mailboxes for my work account and gmail account on my phone. I then wanted to sync my phone to my PC. I set up outlook so it had both email accounts. I synced them and now I have 3 accounts on my phone. My work account is in there twice; once as "work" and once as "Outlook". This wouldn't be a big deal, except the "Outlook" copy only sends and receives when I sync it to my PC... which is really useless. Is there any way to make the "Outlook" box actually work with the phone's internet connection?
4: My work uses an LDAP online address book for contacts. It requires specifying a port, a login, and using SSL. Is this possible to configure the port and ssl? I found where to enter the server address and directory, but there seems to be no SSL/port options.
5: What's the deal with groups? You can set groups in the contact settings, but I haven't found out how to actually just contact a whole group. How do you send an email or text to a whole group?
Thanks.
Does anyone know a way to automatically capture an address from an incoming e-mail on to google maps? I have done that in iphone, where the phone pretty much recognizes an address or a phone no. in any incoming e-mail, highlights them, and gives u an option to directly select them to either search them on the google maps or dial the no.
So far, i have had to select the addresses as text from my incoming e-mails and then manually paste them in the search column of google maps....rather annoying and time consuming method, esp. when one's driving.
It would be great to have an app or a method to recognize and capture these incoming phone nos and addresses. anyoone know how?
HELP!! Technophobe.....
Hi, I am useless at problem solving. I have recently changed the password to my email account on my home computer and now my tablet will not receive emails. When I click the email icon it goes automatically to my email account but has not updated them and I'm assuming it's because I've changed my password to the Yahoo account and the same needs doing on my tablet? However, I've tried (I think I've tried) to change it on the tablet to match the incoming server server settings i.e. typed in my email address and new password but it just says 'authentication failed? Someone help please?
Make sure when putting in the details that a capital isn't automatically being added.
Dear all
I have an urgent request , currently have a s9, I key in a new number and tried to save it to contact, but for some reason it did not save into contact, and I also deleted the number record from the dialer menu, is there anyway to access the dialer app and retrieve all the logs for numbers that was entered?
