hey all, I know there is quite a few threads about the broken headphone jack issue, my left earbud wouldn't work in my phone but worked in my laptop, iPod etc.. so I ordered the replacement part and replaced it... yet the left earbud still doesn't work.. Anyone know what the issue could be or do I just have a loose wire maybe?
Thank you for any help.
This is something that just started happening. A week ago, my headphones got jerked out of the headphone jack. When I plugged my headphones in, it didn't recognize the headphones.
After borrowing some that worked, I bought a new pair (JVC Marshmallows off Amazon that I have used forever). They didn't work.
After borrowing two more pairs, I realized that my phone is playing headphones with a mic (three lines on the jack) fine but headphones without mics (with two lines) are not being recognized at all.
I'd really like to get this fixed because I have 5 pairs of the JVC marshmallow headphones (I got free) and I want to be able to use them.
The only thing I can think of is that you might have striped the headphone port

Hi all,
So for the last 6 months I've been trying to use my brothers old pair of Trittons with the mic removed to listen to audio since they were the best headphones I could use at the time. They worked fine for about a month, until suddenly they weren't being recognised anymore. For the last 6 months I've been trying all the fixes I've seen on Google. Use compressed air to clean the port, wipe the cache partition etc. I no longer use the headphones so it wasn't a major issue until today, when my HyperX Cloud IIs arrived, and again the problem exists.
The phone won't even detect they are plugged in. It just plays music through the speakers. I've tested the headphones in my brothers iPhone as well as my PC and they 100% work, it is literally just a problem with the phone.
Other headphones I've used that work perfectly: Takstar HI2050s, Panasonic in-ear, Sony in-ear, Beyerdynamic Custom Ones. All of these have the common trait of not having a mic built in (3-pin 3.5mm connector as oppose to 4). It must be something in the software rejecting 4 pin and it's beyond annoying now.
Any help would be massively appreciated
Still not found a solution to this, if anyone knows a fix I'd be grateful
Hey guys, had my HTC One M9 a month and a half now and have been using the earphones that came with it a lot. Yesterday on my evening jog the music randomly stopped and i realised that the earphones were no longer being recognised. I tried plugging them into a laptop and a galaxy tab and they were working fine but on my dads old HTC One M7 they also were not recognised. Old apple earphones and earphones for samsung galaxy both worked with the phone. After testing the the jack piece with a voltmeter my brother found that the mic ring was faulty and I came to the conclusion that the phone recognises earphone connection based on the mic sleeve ring.
I was wondering if there was anyway to bypass this detection so that i can get my earphones to work again, I have no need for the mic anyway so it's not such a big deal.
another question is whether or not standard non microphone earphones will work with the phone as I'm considering purchasing RP-HJE120K from Amazon and they don't have a microphone. I've also read that HTC's support CTIA, does anyone know if the OMTP standard is supported?
Thanks in Advance,
Jas
I have a pair of skullcandy headphones w/mic and they work great so i presume any will do.. Tbh there are better earphones out there at a reasonable price compared to the htc ones..
