hey all, I know there is quite a few threads about the broken headphone jack issue, my left earbud wouldn't work in my phone but worked in my laptop, iPod etc.. so I ordered the replacement part and replaced it... yet the left earbud still doesn't work.. Anyone know what the issue could be or do I just have a loose wire maybe?
Thank you for any help.

Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could help me out some? A few days ago, out of nowhere seemingly, the right channel of my headphone jack on my GNex stopped working. I've checked it, and it's entirely clean, and I've cleaned the contact with rubbing alcohol. I can get the right ear to work again if I push the headphones to the right. I know for sure it's not the headphones I'm using either, as they work on other devices, and I have the same issue if I use other headphones too.
The phone is out of warranty, so I can't send it back.
I was wondering if there is a micro usb work around for this. I know you can get Micro USB to 3.5mm adapters, but I don't know if they work on android phones, or even the Galaxy Nexus specifically.
If anybody could give me a hand, your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Did you try a different rom/kernel? Some kernels have broken the headphone jack for me in the past so its worth consideration since you don't have a lot of options.
It's stock, and nothing about the device has changed since it was working. I think it may have been the earphones being yanked out of the phone when they got caught.
My previous phone (droid x2) had a failing headphone jack, so I bought this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005OW4AZK/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1357612799&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
Even though my new galaxy nexus has a perfectly working headphone jack, I still use the jabra street 2 about 90% of the time. It's great at the gym also. I can just leave my phone in my bag and only have to carry around a device the size of an ipod nano.
Cheers. That'll work if I can't use a microUSB to 3.5mm adapter.
Does anyone know there are any of those that work with the GNex?
My headphone jack on my tablet is shorting out. I can only get audio if I wiggle my headphone cable. Is there a way to fix this? Or does anyone know if it's possible to change the jack all together? I was wondering where I can find a part.

I had this problem on my phone, and it was the same with my old walkman headphones, yet they worked fine on the PC. I bought new headphones and they work perfectly. So not quite sure exactly, maybe the socket on my phone is a little loose, and on my old headphones the metal on the jack plug had worn down enough to cause problems. So maybe different headphones might be your answer.
My headphones pull out of my audio jack very easily, too easily. I also tried cleaning out my audio jack too, but it didn't help very much. Any suggestions on what to do about this problem. Anybody else experiencing this?
Are you using a case or does it also happen when you don't use one?
It happens even when I don't use one.
This happened to me too quite recently, was really bummed since the phone was going really well for almost 2yrs, turns out it was just lint from my pocket building up in the jack and getting mashed in by the 3.5mm plug. Got a toothpick and pulled it out in a clump, hasn`t missed a beat since. Of course the other problem could be the headphones themselves, try to replicate the issue with another set if you can and if they`re an expensive headphone you can re-terminate them or have an electronics store do it for you!
Hi all,
My headphone socked stopped working properly and was only coming out of one ear so I went online and ordered another one, fitted it and then after a month or so it stopped working too. I complained to them and they sent me a replacement one but this one didn't work from the start. It doesn't even make the kind of 'click' noise that the headphones usually make when clicking into place.
I am thinking to order a new one but I am just wondering, is there anything actually wrong with the headphone sockets or is it just a case of it sliding out of place somewhat or the little spring type connectors being bent down or something.
Has anyone actually just repaired theirs and not ordered a new socket? If so, what did you do?
Thanks

First of all don't buy any other headphones try to lend headphones from friend or family that are working and they can confirm they're work...
next try to clean headphone jack with isopropylealcohol like in this video (before cleaning just pull out battery just for safety, after cleaning give it some time to dry out, it's really important)

and test it and you'll see, if there will be still same problem your jack connector is gone and need repair
Hello everybody,
I have a problem with the jack.. ( OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 5.0.1 )
Earlier functioned jack normally, but now when I plug my headphones, it only plays left earpiece
And when i plug stereo jack from my home theather , jack working NOT. I tried more stereo jacks and headsets and same issue.
Solution ?
1/ Other ROM
2/ Jack is broken - buy new jack flex board from ebay, ali and replace it
3/ Phone is in warranty, write on support.
4/ Someone reduction
Do you have any solutions ?
Thank you.
Either every cable in your home is faulty or your jack is broken. First check if there is something stuck in there somewhere (dirt? a little pocket dirt thingy the ones that look like tiny balls I don't know what they're called) then if there is nothing you should consider sending the device to OnePlus to get a replacement or a repair (probably a repair). You could try to do it yourself and it's very easy to do but I wouldn't recommend it because it's very easy to damage other things while trying to fix a thing.

As the other member pointed out, it may be a simple matter of lint inside the jack. Blow air forcefully and try to remove it. If it doesn't solve the problem, I would not advice opening it since the phone is under warranty. Contact OP3 for RMA.
