unfortunate for me, my device can't seem to install the update. i can manage to download it but during installation it was aborted.
i'm on stock 4.19.707.4 , rooted, with unlocked bootloader S-ON. so i think it might because of my unlocked bootloader, so I RE-LOCKED and started the update. still no luck. so I nandroid my backup. what do you guys think might be the solution?

No need to relock your bootloader..you just need stock recovery and stock rom only.
i see. didnt revert back recovery to stock. thanks alot, will try that

Thanks a lot. Reverting to stock recovery did work. However, going to stock recovery did make my HOX auto factory reset.
Did manage for the update to successfully installed. Lets monitor now on how things are after the update

Is it only for unbranded firmwares?

Hi Guys
Its been a while since I've been on here so here goes.
I had my Nexus 4 stolen yesterday so I am having to go back to my One X. When I was using my One X I was using Android Revolution ROM. I have since re-flashed it back to the original ROM that it came with on Vodafone however I seem to be unable to apply OTA updates.
I get told one is available but it fails to go through on Clockwork mod. - Signature failure.
Turn the verification for that off and i get an assert about the cid.
Not 100% sure what my original CID was and fastboot unfortunately doesnt tell me:

Can you guys offer any advice on how I can either get OTA updates working or get onto the latest Vodafone UK rom for my phone?
(Note, this phone has been powered off for almost a year)
Thanks
If the rom is stock you only need to flash back the stock recovery.
Or relock the bootloader and install this ruu

Thanks for the fast reply there - Just so I can cover all bases - do you know where I can get a copy of stock recovery?
Don't see the 1.26 stock recovery this fast maybe because it's rather old. Try the 1.29

If it fails you can always use the full ruu

Cool, now don't forget to make a stock backup when you decide to install a custom rom again !
Hi guys!
few days ago I got this new update (3.32.771.3) on my device but as I'm running TWRP I couldn't just update it so I found my stock recovery and tried running the update but it failed at around 30-35% with a red triangle.
I tried doing a factory reset and of course that didn't work either. Tried installing Viper ROM without luck. Everything seems so damn complicated, to run this you need this and that and to install that you need something else.
I'm so lost and frustrated, what do I do?
The device is S-OFF.

You are super CID. Just update your firmware to the newest. The firmware you're using now is 4.4.3 based.
It's super simple. Go here to find out how.
Then load a 4.4.4 custom or stock ROM.
Easy peasy

You are super cid, so it doesn't matter UNLESS you pick firmware that is carrier specific.
I'm going to help you out here.
Download this with your phone.
Rename firmware to 0P6BIMG.zip (the first character is a zero, NOT A LETTER O)
Put renamed firmware.zip on your external_SD
Boot into hboot and let it update its firmware.
No PC, no adb, no fastboot, no terminal is needed, just a root explorer to rename and transfer the renamed firmware file to external_sd
After you have updated your firmware, make sure to remove the 0P6BIMG.zip from your external_sd because it will ask to update your firmware everytime your reboot to your bootloader which it is technically supposed to do but its unnecessary after you have done it once (unless you are planning on flashing firmware again).
Profit!
All credit for this goes to @skulldreamz.
I copied and pasted from his thread, because I didn't feel like typing it all out.
EDIT: And a huge edit buddy!
I just noticed your hboot is 3.19
You already have the newest firmware. LOf*ckingL!!

Yep. You've got the new firmware. Have fun with the 4.4.4 ROMs!
And yes, Viper is an excellent choice.
Hi,
I've using CM 11 for a while on my HOX. I didn't have the backup of my original ROM. I didn't think I'd need to sell the phone but I wanted to and I was told to restore the stock ROM back. I thought I got the correct RUU and when I tried to flash (after relocking bootloader and erasing cache), I was told by RUU GUI that there was a bootloader version problem. Reading about it, I found that my HBOOT version is 1.72.0000 and the RUU showed something like 1.29.
After reading further I found that I was downgrading the HBOOT and for that I need to have S-OFF (I have S-ON).
I then extracted the ROM.zip file from the RUU and tried to flash the system.img and boot_signed.img files and found myself in a situation where the phone goes into a boot loader loop.
The battery has been dead and I'm also plagued by the power management bug in HOX ( doesn't charge at all and had to leave it on for days). Luckily it started charging again but since the phone goes into a bootloader loop, the battery is dying.
I found the fastboot-battery-recharge on this forum where I'm trickle charging it.
Can you help me flash the original ROM back by identifying the correct RUU (android files. org)?
My phone details:

Would this work when the phone is charged?
Please assist as I want to sell the phone.
Thanks in advance guys.
The battery seems to have charged a little bit and I tried the RUU mentioned above, but it doesn't run fully. I get the initial messages to accept about battery being 30% etc, and then I'm shown the current image versoin 4.17.xxx and then the "Update" button. When I click it, the RUU just closes. I'm trying to download another RUU: RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe
In case there was something wrong with the ROM..
The flashing of the second RUU failed this time with error 158. Incorrect RUU. So I went ahead and unlocked bootloader again and CM is back working now thankfully. I still don't know how to flash it with stock ROM correctly. I'm reading about downloading some Nandroid backups 3.20.x versions and restoring it.
I don't want to risk anymore, so please let me know.

You will never succsses to flash RUU no RUU for this high main version restore nandroid or install custom rom on it
Ok thank you. That clarifies about RUU flashing. I have downloaded 3.14 (VODAP0001) Nandroid from one of pages of this site and follow the instructions to flash. Hopefully I'll get stock ROM back then.
Do I need to have the stock recovery also? Is stock recovery required for OTA and when factory reset on the stock ROM it would revert back to factory state (going through setup process again)?

Nandroid Backup 4.17.161.2 CID VODAP001 thanks to alextheg will this be okay its from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Thant, thanks. I guess 4.17.161.3 is for me. I'll see if there's a uk based VODAP001.
I will use this: 4.17.161.2 CID VODAP001. Will follow the steps mentioned where I got the Nand backup itself.
wohoo!! I got the 'stock' ROM back!! Thanks Thant! You're brilliant! I also copied the recovery.img from the Nand backup. Can I flash that with cmd: "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"? Can I erase cache and relock bootloader to see if I get OTA? Is that the correct way forward?

you need stock recovery not this in the backup search for stok recovery for your base or download OTA and choice install later then take the recovery from OTA and flash it
Fixed!! HOX stuck in bootloop and cannot restore ROM
Perfect! I choose install later when the OTA came up on the phone, connected it to my computer and navigated to the download folder on my phone. Found the file : "OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_50_S_Vodafone_UK_4.17.161.3-4.17.161.2_release_369941".
Extracted recovery.img from the firmware.zip file within, copied to my computer, put the phone in fastboot mode and flashed the recovery using command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
That was it. Rebooted the phone and installed the OTA without any issues!!
It back to factory state. Thanks a million Thant!!

Good to hear that
I followed the instructions fine and never hit a snag, upgrading from Android 4.4.4 stock but rooted to the latest ARHD running Android 5.0.1. I'm not sure if the issue is related to the lollipop update or the rom but once my phone screen locks I lose my WiFi connection. I can go into WiFi and see the available networks, select my one and click connect but nothing happens, the only way to get WiFi working again is to restart the phone which is becoming really frustrating. I have tried forgetting the network then re adding it too but the issue remains. Anyone else had this problem or know of a fix?
On a less annoying note when iIstart up it first acts like it's loafing bootloader with the red text at the bottom of the screen then restarts itself and boots fine.

Your HTC is WWE and your bootloader is at 3.19 so i suggest to restore a stock backup from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3086860
Take the 4.16.401.10, that will work. And if you also put back the stock recovery you can also perform official OTA updates.
READ the opening post very carefully as its very good explained !
1.22 radio - firmware 3xxxx
Hboot 3.19 - firmware 3xxx - 4xxxx
Restore backup 3xxx
Flash stock recovery
Ota

Im now back to stock, running the latest firmware - no more updates available and though it was fixed but the wifi has just dropped out and had to restart to get it back (I can see the network it just will not connect). Does this mean it is a Lollipop issue?

Post the current getvar all.
Also, you should delete the serial number from your last getvar all (and the new one, of course) as that is personal info.
You may need to OTA again. I think some OTAs had WiFi broken, even on fully stock devices; and it was fixed on a subsequent OTA.
If you restore a backup 4xx10 and made Ota to 4xx13 he did not update the firmware. Must restore the backup 3xxx and make ota. This will solve the problems with wifi.

I was thinking along those lines (why I asked for updated getvar data) as the radio number indicates 3.xx firmware.
But I am surprised up updated at all, with the improper (old) firmware.
I do not see any other reason malfunction wifi, in addition to hardware failure.
The last ota was not large, so it may be that it could be downloaded. Let's wait author may write off something that already everything is running or not

Sorry havent been able to get online since - I just tried to download the files you linked to and they are no longer available?

Hey guys,
today I flashed the android Revolution 4.4.4 KitKat version on my htc one m8.
It worked great but I can't turn on my wifi.
So I searched the internet for that issue and all I found is that i should update my firmware.
But I cant because my phone is s-on.
Can someone tell me which firmware I have? or how I can figure it out?
This is what the output looks like:

Why cannot ? You can do OTA updates as they will update your firmware.
Restore 1.54.206.10 nandroid and install 1.54.206.10 stock recovery.img then OTA updates.
Read the backup thread linked in my signature.

First you said you can't because the device is S-On, now it's different reason.
Read the backup thread ... use correct TWRP version.
Or you can go the RUU way ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63024353&postcount=6
Option 1 is RUU method
Option 2 - just ignore, won't work for you
