Are we ever going to see anything for us dreaded Sprint users...? At least a custom recovery ported over?? Please!? This LG os is total trash imo.. Laggy as all hell. Running on ART doesn't seem to help me either...

The bootloader isn't unlocked yet. How many times does this same question have to be answered?

As soon as you provide a unlocked bootloader we'll be golden.
Not even a workaround possible? It's just been a while since the release I'm just wondering if anyone's cooking anything up for us..?
People are working on it.
The Sprint version is rootable. Most people find freezing all the bloatware with TiB speeds things up a lot. There are also some other threads here on things you can do to speed it up. Have you looked for them?
Thanks. I will try searching. I am rooted but I want to make a nandroid before tampering any further..

Hello everyone. This is Clockworkmod Recovery v6.0.2.8 v1 for Optimus G Pro.
As you all know, it's 2nd-init recovery. That means if your phone bricks, only lgnpst will revive your phone.
First its how-to is same as the first one with small letters on it
1. Install application that I uploaded
2. Open it and Click 2nd-init recovery
3. Click Reboot recovery to see it worked.
As you know, we cannot change boot image. That will brick your phone.
And if you want to reboot recovery by pressing button, reboot it and you will see button flickering. Than you have to click any button. Fast.
That's all. And of course, you have to have your device rooted.
Thanks to: 985hPaKicK(WHO MADE THIS RECOVERY) and wkpark(who found out the way to increase font size, see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30818456&postcount=8)

Are we supposed to get a couple fc once we press reboot recovery? Seems to work great otherwise. I just wanted to make a quick backup before I start removing bloat.

I'd not remove the bloat if I were you. If your phone boot loops, there is no way into recovery. I'd just freeze the apps using titanium or something instead.
To answer your question, I get the force closes as well.

I dunno who created this recovery but until we get a unlocked bootloader theres no way to use this if your softbrick or bootloop. The dev should look into implementing a timeout feature when you reboot your device. The moto phones have this kind of recovery with bootstrap and safestrap. We could use it until we crack this thing.

Yeah ive noticed that. Im debating exchanging mine for a s4. Not sure yet. I have to have at least some kind of aosp or custom rom - kernel.
I'm going to remain patient, but for sure if I don't see any kernels fixing the phone's ability to render live wallpaper without lag I'll be sselling mine and buying the s4 developer edition. That is, as long as it still supports the remote control feature.

Why not just get a regualr s4? Once the bootloader is unlocked you will have aosp. Thats what ill do if i exchange. To be honest ive gone through the lg forums and aside from the nexus 4 these phones dont get much if any love. Shame as this phone is great and has great potiential. Shame i only have a week and 1/2 left to exchange if i have to. I dont see the bootloader being cracked by then.

I have an LG Nitro and there have been quite a few roms (most importantly official CM support) on our forums. I even installed the ubuntu test thingy on mine. But I'll have to admit I do get jealous of some of the other phones who don't just get occasion roms but regular releases of most of them.
welcome to the lg team guy....lolllll when i bought mine last week, one of my motivation was the fact that i"m not such a "flasholic"...so since for now we can root this thing and flash rom (stock rom) with cwm...a debloated rom will follow for sure, i"m positive!!! but dam, compair to sammy on DEV side...its like running in ferrari and fall in "mini" lollll

I have a T-Mobile LG G3 (D851). Is it possible to flash the ROMs from the international version? It's dead on the T-Mobile G3 development section.
Pretty soon we will be getting all the roms and kernels since the tmobile g3 is the only variant that has an unlocked bootloader. And for the answer, yes as long as you can supply your own kernel and modem. (Some wont work 100%) though.

I used to own an S4 so it sounds like the same rodeo. There's no kernel that I'm aware of that's custom for the T-Mo G3. If there is, please point me in the right direction. Guess there's no flashing yet. I want to get rid of the bloat stock ROM and put something in that's more efficient.

For gods sake man take a chill pill LMAO
The S4 scene took up very quickly since the phone was similar to the S3. Figuring G2 to G3 there'd be a quicker uptake.
So no flashable kernel / modem for the T-mo? Simple yes (and a link or a no will do).

I just purchased a Htc One m8 and it isn't rooted. I'm not used to having a phone that isn't rooted. I usually root them immediately. Question is should I wait for Lollipop ? to com out and upgrade with my stock uprooted m8 or just go ahead and root it anyway? Any advantage or disadvantage?
If you always rooted all your devices then you should already know the advantages vs disadvantages...
Yes I do know the advantages of both I'm just saying that I am running Kitkat 4.4. 4 now and will rooting make the switch to Lollipop more difficult?
In other words if I wait and do it legit, will it be better than somebody's ROM with lollipop? Anyways I don't need any snide remarks. If you don't get what I'm saying don't reply.

If you are rooted, you will have Lollipop before your carrier does.
If you are used to being rooted, you should know that custom ROMs are usually better than the stock ROMs.

Okay i know the answer is somewhere out there already but i looked and could not find.. has anyone tried chainfires auto root for verizon note 4.. there is a link to the verizon model and i have not seen any report on this. IIRC it requires an unlocked bootloader. Thus, no dice.
They're is as yet no root, it'll show up in this forum when it happens. No reason to ask about xyz root method, none work.

Yeah thats what i figured.. i know the boot is on lockdown but i didnt know why they would have a root method if it was still locked down... okay thank you.. i pray to the phone gods for a solution.. i used to have the g2 and that boot was locked down and i think it still is.. they had some loky patch file that walked around the boot.. is this not an option for the note.. i dont know much about this level of information lol. Im just a simple geek that has crack flashed phones into bricks and then saved them from pure persistence!
Wait had anyone actually tried it. LOL 15K bounty but it's been out there for weeks hahahaha.
That's because the is a DEV ed. Of the phone that has an unlocked bootloader that's why it's available if that wasn't the case I am pretty sure chain would have claimed the thousands of dollars just waiting there for him and if he didn't want it he would donate it.

So my turbo just updated to marshmallow, and I'm curious as to whether that opened the door to root and possibly bootloader unlock. BTW the Moto x force thread needs to be moved from this one. Too soon to tell if it opened up any possible exploits, best thing is to keep an eye on this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo-2/general/root-discussionthink-tank-t3239979
The X-Force question came up before, mods said it's basically the same phone so it's not getting it's own section.
If anything, it patched a bunch of exploits and made it that much harder to root the phone. Unless Motorola does the same thing as they did with the one Moto X on Verizon, I doubt the bootloader will ever be unlocked.

I feel like this could happen one of 4 ways.
1. Good ol diggin round code.
2.Motorola employee helps us.
3.someone me (I've tried) but both Motorola reps and Verizon reps are unhelpful but someone might do better. Maybe get it " escalated"
4. Just hope....
Also I just really think it's possible to get past the people who know nothing about it and find someone willing to help.. Then again maybe just simply wishful thinking.

^^^This. Whoever has had success cracking BLs on Verizon Moto devices in the past might help, or at the very least point you in the right direction. You also might be able to get some of the CM devs that have worked on VZW Moto devices in the past.
I know Verizon has been notorious about locking their phones down for a while now, but can it really be completely locked? There has to be something there that can be cracked right? Nothing is impossible right?
Hey, guys, I haven't checked in for awhile, but would someone be willing to work on it for a bounty? I mean if we could pool together somewhere between $500-$1k wouldn't it be worth it for someone who has a ton of knowledge in this comeover and help?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo-2/help/root-droid-turbo-2-bounty-t3339484
I want to change the ugly, unintuitive material design soft buttons.
I know that verizon locks down their phones.
I want to root so that I can get back the old Holo soft buttons (ics, jelly bean, kitkat) and maybe holo blue.
I know from experience that root can make a device much more laggy.
This is my main and only phone that I can use, so I don't want to take many chances.

Who told you root makes a phone lag that is 100% false. Anyway there is no root method at this time.
I have a droid razr that I rooted in jelly bean. Since that, it's more laggy and unresponsive. Probably because of the root processes running in the background
There is no such thing as "root process". Root is just about rights to access particular part of the system, run specific commands or applications.
