I have been looking around, but seem to not be able to run across what I am looking for, or am getting confused by terms/titles, or perhaps it is not out yet.....
My S3 is currently "mostly" stock, rooted, with custom recovery on build 4.1.1
I am looking to move to a fully stock build, with Android Kit Kat, just with root and a custom recovery.
There used to be all in ones that I used with Odin to get to this point, but it seems the process has changed.
Anyone able to help out and point me to a thread that would contain info on loading the latest build for the Sprint S3, that would leave the phone fully stock, but with both root and custom recovery. (not concerned with data backups)
I am pretty familiar with Odin and flashing, just seem to have been out of the loop long enough for the process to be a bit different.
Basically, I am looking for the Kit Kat version of THIS process ( [STOCK ROM] Stock 4.3 MK3 ROM [ROOTED/UNROOTED]), or confirmation that it is not yet available, so I know to just move ahead with the 4.3 build I linked to above.
If u want 4.4.2 (not sure why u would want 4.3) just go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2741413
Read through the first post completely, and u should be good to go....

If you can get into download or recovery you should be ok. Download any NOTE 2 <---! Rom and put it on your external SD Card. Just install it from TWRP/CWM from there. AOKP isn't out for our phone yet, and I haven't seen a stock version rom either.

Closest to KK is going to be Jedi or Clearom. Both are outstanding roms, with awesome support. Check them out in the development section.
I'm trying to find 4.2.1 ROMs to flash, but having a hard time telling which ROMs are 4.2 unless it says it in the thread title. Is that the only way to really tell? I tried Google but I don't want to download something not for sprint. Any advice?

Read the entire op. It will say based on for example LJ7 which is sprints latest official version of 4.1.1.

Like what he said; it's in the title of the thread / OP.
Though if you're looking for 4.2.x, they'll be only AOSP roms as of now. And please only flash sprint roms.

Try the sprint sg3 original development thread. And check out the 4.2.1 slim ROM. You'll like it!

I was just looking at that one and considering it. Think I will! Thanks everyone. To update my prl, radio I need to flash back to stock and unroot right? Not sure if I need to do that or not..
You don't need to unroot, you just need to be on a TW rom for prl and profile update. To update modems(radios) just find a zip you can flash in recovery.
Getting ready to sell my phone.
Currently running the 4.3 modified boot loader and a modified stock rom with KNOX removed.
How can I get it back as close as possible to both completely wiped and 4.1 stock?
That way its easy if the new owner wants to root it but not modified in case the new owner doesn't want that.
edit: looks like I need to find a copy of the I317UCALJ2 ODIN Stock file. So far thats....vexing me.
Here's a copy of the original stock J2 firmware...

Unfortunately thats not what I'm looking for. Thats a modified stock rom.
I'm looking for the odin flashable 4.1.x FULL STOCK ROM.
I cannot seem to find a download for it that works anywhere.

Perfect! Thanks guys!
New Note 2 user here, and I'm looking to get off tghe stock ROM because even after manually debloating.. its still laggy and awful much like my S3 used to be.
Any suggestions is welcome here! I am on 4.3 OTA official so anything that doesn't require too much work until i can get deeper into this would be awesome haha just looking for a simple Download, Flash, and be done!
Thanks guys!
There's plenty of those in the development section. I'm using Skynote AIR 4.3 with zero issues.

Thanks! i was reading on some articles for flashing that if you were on 4.3 there were modem flashing, baseband issues etc that could cause bricking. But thanks for the rom, downlaoding it now!
Hi all, I was hoping someone knew of a way to increase the external speaker volume of the SIII? I found this Link here but looks as if it no longer works with the 4.4.2 update as the default_gain.conf is no longer used. Anyone have any ideas on what else to try that actually works. Buying an app on the Play store is an option if known to work. So, please suggest away if you know for sure things work.
Just ignore my signature for this question, I am asking on behave my wife who is on the stock Virgin Mobile S3 4.4.2 ROM. I can root it if necessary.
This would help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2749607
But you would need to root and have a custom recovery. Love it.
If you use please thank flastnoles for the zip....

Thank you so much for the guidance. This worked perfectly. I didn't realize I needed to search by the firmware code.
