Hello, I could really use some help with this..
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) using an older version of SuperSU (think around like .98). I also
installed the free version of Titanium Backup to uninstall apps... And everything was going fine. I consulated with forums and app lists of the safe apps to uninstall. I kept uninstalling apps and everything was fine, but then I rebooted my phone one day and everything wasn't. The phone boots and the nexus X splash screen appears. I think it usually stays stuck there unless I press buttons, boot in safe mode, or charge it. So then it gets to the lock screen in some of these cases. The notification bar at the top works and the screen will flash on for about 5 seconds before it goes black. And this will keep happening usually. Sometimes just the area where the wallpaper is supposed to be will be black, not everything is - the notification bar, lock symbol, and time all appear as normal on the lock screen.
The touchscreen doesn't appear to take any input really, expect that you can slide the lock symbol to unlock the phone... Only thing is, it doesn't actually do anything like bring you to the home screen like it should. This could be much easier to fix, but I uninstalled about 3 or 4 apps before this happened and off the top of my head I don't remember what they were. If I wrote them down I not don't know where that went. I recall that I uninstalled at least one package that had the word google in it. I also do not recall if I uninstalled the one time init.apk. I have data on this phone so if anyone could give me a direction to recovering the data or something.
My overall technical expertise is decent, but I'm more of a newbie when it comes to smartphone hacking.
One more thing, I forget to mention that the phone doesn't turn off from holding down the power button. I either have to wait until it dies or take out the battery.
Have you had any luck with this. Mine phone is having the same problem.

Since last night my t-mo TP2 has been really slowing loading up (this is AFTER "windows 6.1" green screen and "loading TF3D"....even if i touch the screen nothing moves. touch flow works fine after 5 min but Opera Mobile and other programs open very slow. screen rotation doesn't react and also parts of the screen image from previous pg remain when i go to a new program. By "quick menu", i mean the top right corner where u can get to the task manager (i do have this turned ON in my settings).
Can someone pls help me??
i really don't wanna do a hard reset so do i have any other options? THX.
okay, quick menu finally shows up after 15 min or so? it seems like everything is running smooth.
i hope this isn't normal cuz it happens to me every time i power off and turn it back on.
Eeep, I'll be watching this, I love QuickMenu! If ATT ever releases the TP2, that is..
damn no replies. i'm having the same problem with my sprint touch pro 2. loading where i can actually use and that will respond fairly quickly takes a good 5 min. fortunately, after everything seems to work fine but there are times i soft reset to clear everything and slow load, EVERYTIME.
can someone help? I have S2U2 and have tried EVERY combination of options, don't think it can be any of the other utilities I installed
QuickMenu works just exactly the way it's always worked for me on the Tilt.. I haven't ever seen it run slowly. I ran the older version at first, then installed the new version so I could increase the spacing to make it easier for finger poking, both worked just fine.
Not sure however if I used it with TF3D, I nuked that after a day. I suppose it's easy enough to switch, so I did, and still no trouble. I have it assigned to my Win key, if I want to launch the "honeycomb" I tap the Start Menu text. I use a bit of a combo of both. I don't really use any special settings, about all I set is to auto start, register win key, right arrow to close program, x button long press to close, don't mess with anything else.
Sorry if a similar problem has been posted, but I can't find an answer. After going to the Microsoft Marketplace on my Tilt 2 there was a prompt to install a G-Alarm update. After installing the update, it asked to restart. Since restarting, my phone is no longer working. It also will not let me turn on or off the phone using the power button on top.
After a soft reset it will go to the AT&T World Phone screen, then HTC screen, then the e2ROM screen. After a hard reset, it will go through those screens and then pull up my background and freeze. The clock on the top status bar will work at this time, but everything is frozen. I have been using the e2 Rom (File - e2_ROM_ATT_20091221).
Any suggestions??
I tried to root my tablet, did something horribly wrong, and now it's stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Tab s4 loading screen. I've tried pretty much every combination of buttons (including the ones that SHOULD work) to get into either download or recovery mode and it just keeps coming back to this same screen. The lock image is unlocked at the bottom, and it says 'custom' just underneath the image. At the top left it says in little yellow letters "Set Warranty Bit: Recovery." I can't even turn the thing off now. Any suggestions?
OK well I got it back up and running
I had to leave, came home about 4 hours later and it was still sitting there at the boot screen. I continued to fiddle with the button combinations, and discovered the one I guess I hadn't tried; holding down the power button and volume down at the same time. When the screen went black, while still pressing the aforementioned buttons, I now also quickly pressed volume up. This brought up the 'download' screen and I installed the stock rom and the tablet is now charging and sleeping peacefully. This S4 isn't nearly as easy to root as my old Tab S. I really wish there was an easier way to do this.
Unfortunately this will probably only get harder to do. I wish, as a last hurrah for us users, that the OEM's would release an easy tool to unlock the bootloader and root end of life devices...
Before that ever happens I'm suddenly going to start Sh*&ting gold bricks too....
Greeting,
I have a weird issue where occasionally after I unlock my phone, my screen doesn't respond to touches.
The phone works and responds to physical button presses but not touch.
Not sure exactly when it started happening but I've noticed this since last week.
Any idea what might be causing this?
I'm running Android Pie 52.0.A.3.202.

Got the same issue on 52.0.A.8.50. Usually opening the app drawer then hitting back solves it - otherwise none of the virtual buttons work.
Searching the web it seems touch screen issues are pretty common on this phone. I'm a bit surprised there isn't more being said here about it. Some experience delayed response, dead areas and no response at all. I have all those issues. Yes I am on the latest firmware. I bought the phone used with a cracked screen. I checked it out and everything seemed fine. I didn't use the phone, just set it aside til replacement screen came. I should have used the phone to thoroughly check it out but didn't want to go through the set up process as I was thinking of B/L unlock and root. New screen came, put it on and seemed to be working fine then screen would be unresponsive. I did factory reset, software update, software repair, went into settings and made sure sure everything was good there, nothing helped. The center of the screen (it's low and a bit off center) is pretty much dead. To open launcher I have to touch and hold near the top of the display. Touch and hold apps is tricky. Usually the app just opens. When I do get it to hold, I can't drag it anywhere. Also, icons in the drop down menu cannot be rearranged or edited. I can swipe up/down, side to no problem. Whenever touch goes dead completely, the home, back and minimize buttons go grey. Tapping the power button gets them back functioning again. . Function test fail. Free draw lets me make a few seconds of scribbles then freezes. The x and rectangle block draw does the same. Tapping power button does nothing to unfreeze either. The color test pass even the block one where you toggle on/off sections of the screen in blocks. It's really weird. First impression would lead me to the screen but it really acts like a software issue. From what I've read so far this phone uses two different display drivers. I not seen anything on how to change that and it would more than likely mean B/L unlock and root, which I'm not against doing. I would just like to know definitively if it's hardware or software. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe the Screen Connector wasn't 100% clean.
Or not only the screen is damaged.
I heard that the touch problems are mostly fixed with PIE. The closed source clearpad touch driver is..... Hoping Q gives us an further updated driver.
You still get sometimes ghost touches on higher workload or if the keyboard app is slow, but if you have dead spots the hardware sounds damaged.
Hello. This is my first thread, I have downloaded maybe hundreds of ROM's from this site, have read thousands of threads and of course bricked a few phones lmao. Now I am here with a REALLY confusing problem. Without further ado, let's dive in. sry for my bad english btw.
I bought a second hand S9 today. The guy whom I bought the device told me, when he turns off the screen of the device by pressing the power button, black and green lines appear when he turns on again, and after a few seconds, when he turns the screen back on by pressing the power button, the problem disappears he told. I think he said there is a problem in the part called screen flex. (I ain't sure what that is, I need info about that too.) Sorry if you're confused this far, cuz more is coming thru
I got a very useful APK file named "OLED/AMOLED Saver" and installed it on my device, it worked really well and the lines were almost invisible anymore. After a few hours of use, what I noticed was even more confusing. I activated the AoD (Always on Display) feature, coincidentally, while testing the screen, when I locked the device by pressing the power button and the clock appeared on the AoD screen, when I turned on the screen in that way, I noticed that the screen did not burn in as if it was brand damn new. But if I don't wait for the AoD screen to show up and immediately press the power button again, the screen turns on completely and something really, really terrible appears, a mixture of black and green. Now let's come to my questions, I've blown your mind a lot I think.
1- Can anyone explain what's going on here?
2- Is the problem in the screen flex or is it purely software? (AoD thing)
3-Is there anyone who has experienced this and was able to completely solve the problem?
Thank you for spending your precious time. Hope I get a solution..
Hello, I have same problem with my old S9, it seems that is fully hardware issue, as a workaround you can set full brightness - it causes this issue to appear less frequently and another option is cooling down the phone - when display is black/green just lock the screen and put your phone to the freezer for a while - it will work properly until it heats again
Its something about an update made by Samsung https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5...t-bars-black-screen-issue/td-p/1745470/page/4
