I got an alert that an update for my Samsung Galaxy S2 to the latest firmware is available, the process reached as far as the installation percentage count was completed after that my phone froze/stuck for hours on the welcome screen, the one with the the phone model with a yellow alert icon on it. I've restarted it several times but it goes no further, i took the battery out same thing. Now it is turning on automatically when the battery is in and staying on the screen. Can anyone offer a solution to this. Thanks very much for any help.

u should force recovery mode , by holding vol up + home +power till u see the splash screen with the yellow triangle, as soon as u see it , u must release the buttons immediatley ,
then wipe data/factory reset in recovery and wipe cache
then reboot
if this doesn't work then get Odin3 v1.85 and download siyah kernel from here :http://www.gokhanmoral.com/public/files/siyahkernel/v3.0/Siyah-v3.3.3d.tar
and flash it using Odin3 by putting ur phone in download mode (hold vol down+ home +power ) then connect to pc and start odin3 click on PDA and select the . tar file u downloaded
then download a rom.zip from the android devolopment forum and put it into ur external SD card , then go to recovery and install zip from sdcard and choose the rom u downloaded then flash it via recovery and finally reboot
I updated adaway and know the phone is stuck at the samsung boot logo. Tried going into recovery but phone wont go to recovery mode . Could be because of the sticky power button issues ?
What are my options here reinstall stock rom . I had slim beam installed with TWRP recovery. Tried these steps 2) Hold down home, power, and volume UP , phone vibrates and then its back to the samsung logo.

Hold volume up and down, press power button until it vibrates and let go of power button only. This is for T989. The procedure for T989D is different.
Using Odin and installing stock Rom manually
Hey, it sounds like you have the same problem i had. What i did to fix it is download the stock ROM for my phone and download Odin. The i reinstalled the rom ontu the phone and it worked fine. Just look uo how to do this for you type of phone included moded for example i had a tmobile samsung galaxy s2 t989.
Phone was fine for few days , restored it with odin now same issue. Phone shows samsung loho and nothing happens . Not sure whats causing this or its the not good build quality of of these phones..
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy note 10.1. When i try and boot it will just hang at "Samsung Galaxy note 10.1" bios screen. When i try and get into the Odin menu (power+volume down) it says "Odin Mode" DOWNLOADING Please do not power off.
That is where it get's stuck. I try and connect to Odin launcher, and get write failures.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Boot to recovery (power menu vol up),
Clear cache, if worked it's ok
If not, u have 2 options
Either factory reset from recovery, but you will lose anything in internal sd
Otherway is to flash firmware from odin, then it may boot to save your data from internal sd and then u can factory reset as u like
i had problem with my note 2
after changing the battery to new one the device restart and couldn't log in software just keep showing Samsung logo and restart again
i tried to make hard reset and wipe the memory but i couldn't reach this menu, the devise don't respond to the three buttons
Volume up + power + menu
my device is stock , no one play with the room or something
so i tried to flash the original room maybe there is any damage with the one in the phone
so i tried tow version from sammobile.com the official one and both of them pass on Odin and successfully but the same problem keep giving me the Samsung logo with restart without any response.
any one can help me please???
Thanks
Flash the stock ROM again but do not check anything except f reset time. Flash the ROM. When you see the word "reset"in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove battery for 3 seconds, replace battery, use buttons to boot into recovery, factory wipe, reboot.
Hello all !
I think I just soft bricked my Note 2 !! as it is now the Note 2 stuck on the SAMSUNG Logo.
Download mode still works and I can flash correctly trough Odin, could you please suggest me what file to flash to it to make it work please ?
So heres a short summary of what I did:
So its a N7100 model international version (bought in Italy)
I had a CM 11 Rom , TWRP installed and phone rooted - everything working perfecly.
Now I wanted to get to Samsung stock rom,
- So I downloaded Odin and the official 4.4.2 ROM from SamMobile, I choose UK O2 as I live in the UK,(http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-N7100/) ,
-went into download mode and flashed trough odin 3.11 (what you recon is the best version to use ?)
- Now the phone Starts up, writing Note 2 samsung galaxy, then plays sound, changes to SAMSUNG logo and stays there !!
- If i press the power button the phone shuts off.
- If I press Home + Volume down + power, then phone goes into download mode correctly, so I can still flash with odin again any time. Again could you please suggest what file should I flash to just make it work ? or is it something else that i did wrong ?
Thank you !
You confirmed the model number in download mode?
Did you perform a factory wipe after flashing in Odin?
Did you try other n7100 regional firmware?

oh !!! The factory reset wipe worked !!!! FANTASTIC !! thank you !
for anybody that might have the same problem -- it's home button + volume up + power button to go to the menu and do a factory reset after flashing with odin!
thanks again ! can change this to [SOLVED]
Glad it worked. We're all here to help each other.
Whenever I flash a stock rom in Odin, I uncheck everything except f reset time. I flash the rom. When I see the word reset in the status window, I remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery mode, wipe, and reboot.

Thank you so much mate! you made my day -- if it wasn't for you I would have probably installed 10 other roms without resetting the factory thing and it would still be stuck eheh - thanks!
