Hello everyone,
I'm new to the XDA forum and I hope to find some help here.
I've bought a new Sony Xperia ZL C6503 a few months ago but yesterday it died completely.
This happened when I wanted to transfer files between my laptop and phone.
It has the latest firmware 4.4.4 and always used the original charger and USB cable
Is there a way to reset the device or fix it before I send it back for warranty?
Hope my grammar is understandable.

Only when I press the reset button at the back, it gives a short vibration
That's all it does.

After a couple of hours wrestling trough the forum and by trying different things I finally manage to get the phone back to work.
Still don't understand what happened but probably a corrupted TA partition was the problem.
Thanks for your help

May anyone share the kernel of Pro FusioN v4.5 (720p) for FXP CM10? I want to record 720p video but there is no link in the official thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926299

Here you go!
Download FusioN 4.5 720p
Remember that your ROM's camera must support 720p also.

Of course, I'm using it right now.
Let me advice you, it takes FOREVER to boot, I suggest you to leave it 15 minutes booting or something. If you still can't get a boot, I think you should wipe and reinstall your ROM.
Just remember, be really patient (I know this because same happened to me and when I was about to remove battery, it booted).
Good luck!

Ic. Then in case of my Xperia pro (MK16i) + your kernel file, whether it is normal for the logo of the kernel "fusion" isn't showed in the screen when the screen is turned on? As I have tried to flash Arc Fusion 4.5 (720p) in an Xperia arc S (LT18i) few months ago, and the logo would show up when the screen is turned on. I wonder if there is any difference.
Thanks!
Any updates?

Interesting, I have found and fixed the part which was causing this exact same issue on my previous builds on the xperia z and various other models... That was caused by a bug I personally introduced by implementing a new backlight control. The issue is fixed on the other models now...
I'll have another look for it, maybe some of the device repository flags are making it go haywire...
Cwm works fine, but does Philz Touch work as well?

Possibly, yes. It seems to be coming from a different source here though, probably the driver.
If anyone is willing to help me debug this and has some knowledge of linux commands, you can contact me by PM to arange a Hangouts session or to agree on a time to meet up on freenode IRC. I'm in #TWRP now, I'll be running off for some groceries soon, but will be back shortly.
http://nut.xperia-files.com/tmp/recovery.twrp.cpio.lzma
Put it inside /system/bin and reboot to TWRP. I changed it to turn off the screen for a second and then enable it again. It might not even show, but if my hunch is right, this will make it work OK.

Hi,
Moto E had exactly the same problem in twrp so I asked cybojenix about the solution. It was a problem in the touch screen driver. Here is the commit which fixed it for moto e - https://github.com/cybojenix/kernel_motorola_condor/commit/1687140f4fb6c9f3c4d68e92381253801192f7b3
I tried to implement the same kind of fix in our touch drivers but couldn't figure out how to do it. Also, the kernel source for kitkat isn't out yet.

Well, my latest attempt tries to deal with it from the top down, as it has to work on stock kernels, I'm switching the screen off and on again as if the time went and the device is woken up again.
I still have no idea if it works: I don't own the device to test it.
Can you give it a test and see if it works? https://github.com/xNUTx/android_de...lob/cm-11.0/recovery/twrpgraphics.c#L683-L684

I guess it's not that different. Maybe something on boot.img or build prop

Why Z ROMs? There is no difference
Tapatalk'd from my Xperia™Z (C6602) running Dirty Unicorns ROM!
Not really...
I see more ROM options on Z than ZL device.
One example: MIUI is almost up-to-date on Z and discontinued on ZL

I dont know if it's too different like Samsung devices.
For example: When I had a Samsung Galaxy, I just needed to change some basic information on the build.prop, like device name/product name.
I was wondering what kind of info should I change to get this running.
I used to flash Z ROMS on Locked Bootloader with no problems at all, just remember to flash Brightness Fix and ZL kernel again *BEFORE* restarting system, or else you will enter a bootloop with no recovery option and will have to flash official ZL FTF, root and reinstall recovery again to get another go.
Z ROMS flashed successfully:
eXistenZ 1.5.5 Ultimate
eXistenZ 7.0.0 Ultra
MIUI v5 (official MIUI ROM, though, not the ones posted here in XDA)

That's what I'm talking about, mate.

little more difficult getting the aosp ROMs ported, I think.
I'd tried porting the KMA CM11 build to the ZL. though I managed to have it running, the screen always stayed on and at full brightness. I had done the steps that are part of this "brightness fix" which is known to work on stock based ROMs.
disclaimer: I'm a newbie and it's possible there was something additional to be done (which I wasn't aware of) while porting.
hi all, i have a problem with vibration on my C6503, vibration non working, for example in incoming call or during typing.
i have unchecked/checked all vibration options in sound setting and keyboard setting but nothing happens, vibration doesn't works.
if i turn off the phone, when press power button to turn it on, i feel the normal vibration that indicate phone booting up but when phone is ready
vibration doesn't works. if i press reset button on the bottom of the phone i feel the one vibration (or three vibration if i hold button)
but when the phone restart the problem is here again.
i'm on last fw .283 DE and i tried to flash .230 via flashtool wiping all but it's the same, vibration doesn't works
anyone have some ideas about that?
many thaks
