I'm having that problem now. I followed your instructions and got to the recovery mode or "Odin Mode" and it's been saying it's downloading for about 10 min or so. Any idea on how long it should take ?

Actually I believe it's the download mode that I'm in. It doesn't seem to get to the recovery mode when I press the Volume up key and power button for some reason.. Am I doing something wrong

Follow these instructions implicitly.
Hold POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME.
As soon as it restarts change to VOL UP while still holding the other buttons.
Do NOT let go of any of the buttons until recovery boots.

That's what I've been doing exactly but for some reason it just goes right back to the logo screen. I was able to get into the recovery mode one time out of 100 and I went through the process of factory reset but it didn't solve the problem. Now I can't get back into it. It's weird because I have no problem getting into the download mode pressing the volume down but volume up doesn't seem to work. Not sure why or what to do
I'd try reflashing stock recovery then try booting into it again.
If it flashes then you should be able to boot into it.

How exactly would I do that? I'm not to inclined when it comes to this stuff so any help you can give would be appreciated
Install Samsung usb drivers, put your tab into download mode, connect to pc, run Odin, load the file into the AP slot then click start.

You haven't bricked anything, there could be any number of reasons why it won't boot past the logo.
Easiest way to resolve it would be to reinstall the stock rom.
The second image is download mode.

That's the exact same situation I'm in. Every time I restart it I can't get passed that damn Samsung logo screen. I tried the whole flash with Odin process but I realized that when I connect the tablet to the computer, I get an "MTP Device Driver Failed" message so I'm assuming since the computer doesn't recognize it, even tried with KEIS and it doesn't, that I'm unable to complete the Odin job because that goes until 'Initialization' and stops there. Were you able to fix yours?

No I can't. I've tried a thousand times in all different sequences of holding the three buttons and it just doesn't go. It's SM-T800. They screen shots on the first page is exactly what I get. Either the logo screen when trying to get into recovery or download mode which it has no problem going into.

The two files below should boot you directly into recovery as soon as you start the tablet if you can flash them. Flash with Odin from the AP slot.
Make sure you put the device into DOWNLOAD mode first then connect your usb cable!
You can then do a factory reset and then try and flash the stock rom.
Stock recovery
Twrp recovery
.

Yeah I tried that too but when I connect the tablet to my comp, I get this 'Samsung Mobile MTP Device Failed' message so my comp doesn't even recognize the tablet. I even tried connecting with KEIS but that doesn't see it either because of that error. Idk if that's related to this issue that I'm having but I'm assuming that since the comp doesn't recognize the tablet because of that error, it won't finish the ODIN job. I get up to 'Initialization' and nothing after. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung drivers and that didn't work either. Seems I can't catch a break here

Mtp, kies and anything else is irrelevant, they are OS dependent.
Just put the tablet into download mode. Download mode works in boot loader mode. No need for the os.

Ok we need to take this step by step as theres something amiss here.
DID YOU AT ANY POINT WHILE THE TABLET WAS WORKING ENABLE 'REACTIVATION LOCK'?
1. Ensure the Samsung drivers are installed (important) Samsung usb driver
2. Before connecting anything to the PC put the tablet in DOWNLOAD mode first.
3. Plug the USB cable into a USB 2 port
4. Wait for the 'ADDED' message (if you dont get this it wont work)
5. Load the tar file into the AP slot.
6. Click START
7. If it doesn't start to flash reboot the tablet directly back into DOWNLOAD mode without touching anything else then unplug and replug the USB cable back in.
8. If it still doesn't flash try ODIN 3.07 ODIN
9. Report back and post a screenshot (if it doesn't work).

I know for a fact that I never enabled the Reactivation Lock.. But you know, after literally days and hours including my entire weekend just searching the internet and trying every possible fix scenario that people have tried, I just gave in and sent it to Samsung this afternoon to have them fix it. Nothing I was doing seemed to work and I do believe I tried everything within my little knowledge to try. Let me ask you though, when I get it back in normal working order, would going through the steps to install the TWRP recovery and a ROM prevent me from being in this situation again or at least be able to actually fix it on my own?
If you dont mind tripping Knox and possibly warranty then I believe installing custom recovery is one of the best tools you can Install to a device.
It can get you back to a working state in minutes if you make a full backup.
It's a no brainer to install custom recovery if you intend to root and modify the device in any way.
Greetings XDA Developers,
Newbie here. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM T705). I was able to root it a few weeks ago and I decided to install a custom recovery (TWRP) using an app from the Playstore named "TWRP Manager". I didn't hesitate to do so using this method because I was able to install TWRP on my GT I9300 successfully from the past using this app. However, after being prompted by the app that the recovery was successfully installed and needs to reboot the device, my tab was stuck on start up screen ( See attached photo ). I tried long pressing the power button but nothing happened. I waited until the device ran out of battery and when it did, I plugged in the charger and I'm back at the same screen. After google-ing some possible solutions, I tried to boot it into recovery but was unsuccessful, however, I was able to boot into download mode.
I'd like to ask for the help of some "experienced" users in this forum on how to solve this problem. And if possible, I'm hoping that flashing a stock recovery using Odin wouldn't be my last resort.
Thank you in advance.

Your going to need some fast hands for this one! I've ran into this lots of times when testing kernels and such. Any force reboot by holding Power Button+ Home Button + BOTH Volume buttons all at the same time. Press and hold that combo until the screen goes black. Then once the screen goes black quickly press and hold Power Button+ Home Button + Volume down buttons all at the same time. You should no enter into download mode. You said that you drained the battery so I would suggest charging it in download mode for 30 minutes or so then flash TWRP with Odin.
Your going to need to flash stock recovery or TWRP with Odin to override the boot and get it working
The TWRP app doesn't always work in which is why I use Odin.

As a side note for future reference, hard reset is simply hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
As said all you need do is boot to download mode and flash recovery.
If you're on lollipop you may need to immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. But how exactly do I "immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick." Since after I flash recovery via odin, it would obviously automatically reboot my device? sorry for the dumb question.

You either be quick and hold POWER + HOME + VOL UP as soon as it reboots or you uncheck auto reboot in Odin then restart manually.

So did the solution work? I am looking at a SM-T705 on ebay being sold for parts with similar symptoms. hoping I can fix it for a great bargain.
Lineage /Oreo was installed thru TWRP 3.xxx, running fine but unhappy , no Viper4Android , so I installed it as a module on Magisk,
after installing the driver, was ask to reboot as directed, but went into bootloop , stuck on a boot loop " Set Warranty Bit : kernel " top left corner and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on screen ; I tried Vol Up +Home+ power combo and all other combi I could think but no luck , Odin wont recognize my phone, tried Samsung 300k tool with no luck, I fell like a newbie after using so many ROMs on all of my devices, I google how to get back to download mode but no luck, I need help to make my Samsung note 3 work again, PLEASE. THANKS.
Hi,
I have same phone but I'm running Resurrection Remix 6 which is based on LineageOS 15.1 and I'm able to use the Viper module through Magisk 16.3 without any problems. No bootloops, no nothing.
I never would have guessed that a sound mod could brick the device to the point that the buttons no longer function. Hopefully other users will chime in and help you fix it.
Best of luck.
EDIT: Try taking the battery out to force it to shut down and then try the recovery/download mode technique again. Sometimes, it'll end up in a bootloop and the buttons will be become unresponsive. I know it may seem a bit strange, but that scenario is entirely possible given the age of the device.

I did tried RR 6, but I had trouble with 1.) power Button menu option, screenshot/screen record , 2.) Viper4Android , a must have on all my Android devices, and last 3.) latest Android version , if I dont get the first 2 obsession , that's when I switched to a different ROM (LOL), but seriously , all I need is to get HELP to get back to download mode again, Vol Up + Home + Power, did that for 2 days approaching the 3rd day (LOL). You may have to try a USB jig to get into download mode.

The jig that I bought didnt do anything so I make my own, I can go to download mode now, installed this ROM/firmware N900TUVUCNB4_N900TTMBCNB4_N900TUVUCNB4_HOME.tar.md5 succesfully but wont go pass beyond the tmobile logo, tried a few more firmware and lately this N900TUVUFOL1 and also , am stuck to Tmobile logo, anybody knows which firmware would likely bring my note 3 back to life, thanks in advance.:
Try this:
Uncheck everything in Odin except f reset time. Flash the latest ROM again. When you see the word "reset" in the status WIndow, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace battery, boot into recovery mode using buttons, factory wipe, and reboot.

Thanks Audit13,
I manage to restore my Note 3 to TMobile Android 5 using repair firmware , it looks like I wipe out the partition ,My phone runs like new, am just wondering why I cant go to Download mode with button combinations of Volume -/Home/power , tried to install twrp via Odin, it says PASS but Vol +/Home/Power wont lead me to bootloader, did tried CWM , it will boot up but before I could start using it, it will reboot to normal and I could not go back to bootloader with button combo Vol+/Home/Power........HELP...
Download mode is volume down+home+power.
To flash TWRP with Odin, try this:
Open Odin and only check f reset time. Flash TWRP. When you see the word reset in the Odin status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace battery, press home + volume up + power.
N900TUVUFOB6_N900TTMBFOB6_TMB and N900 PIT - are the files am using after screwing up my partition( I dont know how I did that ), this Note 3 is running like a hot knife on a butter BUT the only bug I notice is Volume Up + Home + Power ( recovery) NOR Volume Down + Home + Power (download ) does not work, I can only go to download mode using a USB JIG and no other way. I can flash TWRP via Odin with Auto-reboot not ticked , so I could remove cable, battery , hoping to get me to recovery mode but I couldnt. Did I miss a step?I need help.

Galaxy Tab Active 3 cannot get into Download/Recovery modeHello,
I have Galaxy Tab Active 3. When started it says Powered By Know. I am not sure if Know is enabled on it or not. Cannot login into it as I don't know the password. So I wanted to reset the device so I can use it as personal device.
However, when I tried to get into download/recovery mode with Power VolUp/Down these do not work. The device simply continues to normal boot mode, despite the fact I am holding Power/VolUP, Power/VolDown, Power/VolUp/Home - all combinations I tried.
Any advice how can I get it in recovery so I can wipe out everything?
Hello,
I have left my Sm-p605 power off for a while so when i tried to power it on nothing happened (flat battery I assume)
So I plugged it on the charger and this is what happen now:
- When plugged on the charger after few seconds I can see the battery sign (with the flash in the middle) then after few seconds I get the screen :
Samsung Galaxy note 1 2014 edition for about ten seconds then black screen and after a short while Samsung ...... screen.
- This scenario is obtained without any pres on any key ! looks like it start booting by it self.
- During the boot loop if I press Vol + the next boot will be in recovery but again boot loop
- During the boot loop if I press Vol - I get to the download screen and there no boot loop ! I have to do a long press on the power button to exit !
- If tablet not plugged on the charger: dead !
I thought that the battery was dead so I replaced it : same with the new battery !
As I can access download mode I was thinking to flash the ROM but there is no way as the USB port is busy with the charger and if I disconnect the charger the scren goes black.
I have tried a lot of tips found on the net but so fa no success !
What looks strange to me is the fact that the tablet seems to start by it self without the need of pressing the power switch !
But this switch looks OK as it works to exit the download mode !
Anybody has an idea of what could be done to get out of this situation ? Any idea will be welcome.
Thanks in advance !
Hello,
I have exactly the same problems with this model (SM-P605). I've tried several ROMS via different versions of ODIN and also with PIT-file, repartion etc. My tablet stucks always in the boot loop and I cannot enter the recovery menu. Also I soldered wires and power the tablet from an external power supply but still no luck.
Few people have managed to fix the problem but I think they had a WIFI model and not the LTE version like mine.
Is there anybody out there who could solve this problem with the SM-P605?
Kind regards
Franz

Just saw this.
As you can flash I'd try flahing latest multiple part stock and if that works I'd start from scratch.
Didn't say if you tried that.
