I have tried so hard finding the solutions in this forum to find a fix for my camera. I am using CM11 nightly. I have tried full wipe and flash gapps , yet nothing helps to make my camera works. It was fine when I was using CM10.2.. I am thinking of going back to Color OS but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help me on this? Ps: I also installed the camerafix and it doesn't work.
factory reset update rom..that work for me...

what's up guys so i recently rooted my phone and flashed the latest cm7 (7.0.2). i couldn't help but to notice that my auto-rotate does not work on apps. i.e. web browser, txting, etc. It DOES rotate when i slide the keyboard out, but it's stuck on portrait if i don't have the keyboard out. I've tried ticking an unticking various things such as auto-rotate, being able to rotate an additional 180 degrees..nothing seems to make it work. does anyone have a clue of what's wrong?? (f.y.i, i've tried reflashing the rom couple of times and also flashing cm nightly, wiping the cache, wiping data/reset, but still no progress). if anyone has encountered this problem, or might have a solution, that would be great ! it's starting to irritate me..so any help would be much appreciated. thanks for stopping by.

so i tried flashing a different rom (gingervillain 1.5) like you said..and it's still not working.....any other suggestions? should i unroot and root my phone again? would that cause any harm?
This has been happening occasionally on my G2 while running the stock deodexed ROM, and the only way I've known to fix it is to run "fix permissions" in CWM. I've also deleted the cache and dalvik cache as well, just to be safe, and these have fixed the problem for me. I'm not sure if it's related to the ROM or any of the apps I have installed, but I'm getting more & more concerned that it could be that my accelerometer slowly dying. Not sure.
I really hope that helps fix your problem.

ok so i tried to do your method, and it still doesnt work... i'm kind of bummed because i barely got a replacement on this phone..and its hard to believe that the accelerometer would be dying on mine because i just got it replaced like few weeks ago..i really don't know what the problem is
Hi,
I'm having problems with video recording in CM7.1 RC1.5 and cannot record anything, although photos work fine. I've tried clearing camera cache without success so i'm thinking of doing a factory reset.
If i factory reset, and see that the camera works, can i then restore Data via CWM without issues?
Edit: I've fixed the video problem. When i installed GTAIII i changed libstagefright.so (to fix blackscreen issue). I put back the original one.
I'm still interested in a reply though, one day i may want to factory reset, but losing my apps and appdata is bugging :/ (Tit. Backup doesn't allways do a neat job)
instead to do a factory reset try to install another ROM like CM9.

And this is a specific, ROM-independant question here. All i want to know is in first post

Hello all,
Recently I installed the Avatar rom from this page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130852) on to my galaxy s2. I did a full backup in twrp before wiping my caches and installing the rom. Upon installing I run into unrelenting com.android.phone crashes. I go to restore my backup and when I boot to that, my dialpad is missing and I get no service. Can anyone please help me with this? Thanks!
Edit: I have now tried flashing it to stock and I still run into this issue.
Have you tried flashing a new radio?

Fix
Okay I managed to fix this issue. Just to clarify what the issue was for anyone with similar problems:
After flashing a new rom I continuously get com.android.phone errors, no service, and no dialpad. Using my twrp full recoveries (2 of them) didn't fix the issue as I still got the crash and missing dialpad and no service.
To fix this, I flashed to stock using the Jellybean file from a thread. (Can't submit links but a google search of "[HOW TO] Odin any stock rom" provides the thread as the first result).
That alone didn't fix it, the last step is what fixed the problem for me, which was a factory reset and cache wipe after the flash.
I have fixed the issue but I am still left with the question of how this was possible. Isn't the dialpad simply an apk that should be in the backup?
Why would flashing a new rom leave me with this error?
Any help in clearing up the cause of the issue here would be much appreciated.

I still think it was the radio, If you didn't get any signal then the first thing I would do is reflash the radio. The same thing happened to me on CM 10.1..I don't remember if the dialer was crashing on me but it probably was BUT I do know I was getting horrible battery life and I had no signal. I just flashed the latest radio and I was good It could be that the radio you had when you were flashing Avatar didn't support it.

Sometimes what happens when flashing a rom or even restoring a backup sometimes with newer roms that support the preload partition is the recovery doesn't properly load the preload partition, causing some apps or system software to malfunction, what recovery are u using?

I use twrp. I think 2.5. Is there any way to prevent this problem? I want to try reflashing the avatar ROM but it's a pain to have to flash back to stock and then root and then restore my backup
I'm having some trouble and hopefully someone can help. I broke my nexus 4 and Im back to my s2. I had to replace the digitizer and screen and since then I've had the issue. I never had this issue until recently. The ROM will download fine, but will not install, I'm stuck on Slimrom 3.1.0 official. Some apps won't install or update either. I keep getting error "-24". Anyone have any ideas?

did you fix it? ive had the error 24 problem when restoring app data, that shouldnt affect flashing a new rom -so long as you wipe everything first then reboot recovery- also that should clear the data/data folders
Anyone encountered camera flash stopped working suddenky in camera mode, flashlight app or other 3rd party app? I used to clear dalvik and cache n it was ok for awhile but now it totally stopped working. Will reflashing it and reformatting it bring back the flash? T705 user here btw.

Well let's find out if it is a software issue or hardware issue. Backup your current ROM, then wipe data, flash a new rom and see if it works. If it doesn't it's hardware issue.

i already reformat everything and reflash.... it was fine till one point it started again. what i did next, i tried to fix permission in TWRP and it works!!! i wonder which permission causes the flash to stop working.... i had to fix permissionb everytime it stopped working....
anyone knows any way of which i can actually see what or which thing that causes the break??
My Tab S (T700) wont flash too! Only rarely. I tried in complete darkness and no flash! Im prolly gonna end up registering for this site just to comment!
