I am using a BT handsfree in my car. I need a quick method to toggle BT on/off mith the minimum of clicks. Ideally, on the home screen.
Any solution is appreciated, also existing apps/tweaks whatsoever.
The option to keep BT all the time on is not acceptable, due to many reasons eg. battery consumtion.
Thanx
Search for vjvolubilis. It's here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=255911
try ammars or panoshas action screens (search for them in this section of the blackstone apps)
work a treat - ammars action screen enables bluetooth with discoverability and panoshas just enables bluetooth
Hi!!
Try Launch Manager...its veeeery goood
you my use the previous tips or just get that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362115, simplest of possibilities....this cab add to your programs an icon which tapped make your bluetooth on and discoverable mode....tap it again and it will switch it of.
AEButton Plus will do what you're after. I have it set to a tripple press of the up volume button (double is WiFi toggle, single: Volume) but you can set it to anything, even a single press.

It's not actually only the toggle, it's a whole software to programmatically change buttons behavior.
Don't know what you mean with two files, all you need is a .cab file. Simply comy it somewhere to device (e.g. onto mictoSD per USB cable) and then start it in Windows Explorer.
During install you will get the settings window, where you can perform settings as I suggested above.

put the two files into a folder on your phone. mine are in a folder in program files on my storage card. then open up two windows on your pc. the first window with the the files in on your phone and in the second got to windows/start menu/programs on your phone. then just drag and drop with the right click of your mouse the bluetooth file. when the menu appears choose create shortcut here. exit all windows and go to your phone. you will now find the shortcut in your programs. hope this helps

Just what I was after so CABbed it for install/uninstall including shortcut. Can then map it to a button in Settings -- Personal -- Button -- Button 1 (hold)
1. Double tap home button to launch the camera in under one second.
1B. Disable the double-tap quick launch in the camera options to get rid of the delay when pressing the home button. It's a neat feature, but makes the home button much more quicker. (Thanks to @B1aze)
2. Use themes to change the look of your phone (limited as of right now; will be more widely available in the coming weeks to developers/themers).
3. Go into your App drawer and long press an icon as if you want to move/delete it. The small circles with the red '-' sign will let you either delete an app (if third-party) or disable it (if built-in).
4. Hold the power key for more than 7 seconds and the device will reboot. Hold VolUp+Home+Power to boot into recovery. Hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot into Download Mode.
5. Whenever you want to take a "selfie", you can simply frame the image first, and then put your finger on the heart rate sensor under the LED light at the back in order to take one.
6. When downloading a large file (30+ MB) and you have LTE AND are near WiFi, activate Download Booster! Settings--->More Connection Settings--->Download Booster. It combines both your WiFi and LTE connections into one for amazing DL speeds. Stupid Sprint took this out :/
7. Notification reminders! Settings--->Accessibility--->Notification reminders.
8. Don't forget to claim your free 100 GB cloud storage with OneDrive!
9. Private mode... You can hide content from prying eyes, including photos, videos, music, web history, and such. To activate it, go to Settings--->Privacy and safety--->Private mode.
10. Do Not Disturb mode. Dare I say... Better than Google's implementation of "priority notification only" mode. You can set a schedule for it, who IS/ISN'T allowed to contact you while it's on, etc.
11. Screen Pinning. Go to Lock Screen and Security--->Other Security Settings--->Pin Windows.
12. Customize your screen grid (4x4, 4x5 or 5x5) by pinching in when on the home screen.
13. Developer Options.. To enable this, go to Settings--->About Device--->Tap "Build Number" 10 times and you will unlock Developer Options!
14. Make your device a bit faster by going to Developer Options and setting window animation scale, transition animation scale & animator duration scale all to 0.5.
15. When you are in an app (Chrome, Gallery .... whatever) and you drag your finger from the upper right corner to somewhere in the middle of the screen the app shrinks which makes it more usable with one hand. (Thanks to @derWolf_)
16. You can have changing lockscreen wallpapers by changing it in the settings and selecting multiple wallpapers in the selection box. (Thanks to @altimax98)
17. For those having issues with Snapchat videos, go into Developer settings (see #13) and uncheck Nuplayer.
18. For better results with the fingerprint scanner, register your thumb multiple times for it to be more accurate.
19. Screenshot by holding power+home at the same time or using palm swipe to capture (turn on in settings).
20. Direction lock... Settings-->Accessibility. New way of unlocking your phone.
21. Under voice wake you can use Svoice to set a custom phrase to wake up the phone directly to listening for a command. (Thanks to @benjmiester)
22. If you rest any registered fingers over the scanner, it'll light up which registry it is. Helpful is you need to redo the fingerprint. (Thanks to @hayabusa1300cc; post #13 for screenshot).
23. Really debloat your GS6 (no root needed!)
24. Cell standby drain? Go into recovery mode and wipe your cache, power off phone completely then reboot.
25. Go to the dialer, and press the green dial button. It will load the last dialed number. (Thanks to @Jrhoop)
26. Disable the capacitive lights with no root required! (A LOT OF THANKS to @Averix)
26A. How to disable capacitive button lights. (ADB)
27. The volume down button can be used to take pictures when the camera app is running. (Thanks @segag)
28. Use volume keys in default messaging app to increase/decrease font size. (Thanks @jambo89liam)
29. If you want to enable grayscale without going into super power saving mode, go to settings -> personal -> accessibility -> direct access and turn both direct access on and grayscale. Once you do this, a triple tap of the home button will toggle grayscale on and off. (Thanks @shappy0869)
Will be adding as time goes on, feel free to add your own and I will add it to the OP!

I read somewhere that the phone doesnt have that option unless you go into power saving mode or somerthing like that. This was one of the first things i tried doing at store but couldnt.
Why Samsung removed this option I have no clue, but it was a stupid one.

Has anyone figured out to disable extra sensitivity on the phone? I read its enabled by default but there's no way to disable it.
Ok I've figured out something with the fingerprint scanner. If you didn't rename the registered fingers then you may forget which finger is assigned like i did.
Well if you rest any registered fingers over the scanner, it'll light up which registry it is. Helpful is you need to redo the fingerprint.

That was implemented months ago my friend.
Launch Google Now by holding the home button
Here are two tips that I don't think have been mentioned.
First, battery life will be greatly increased if you enable wi-fi calling under Connections. Once enabled (and activated on your Sprint account, for free), your cellular radio will essentially be turned off and all calls will go over wifi. I have noticed this really helps extend battery life.
Second, if you want to enable grayscale without going into super power saving mode, go to settings -> personal -> accessibility -> direct access and turn both direct access on and grayscale. Once you do this, a triple tap of the home button will toggle grayscale on and off.
Almost at 30, keep em' coming
If you long press on a notification it will change a darker color then click on the white exclamation box and it will take you straight the notification settings for that app. Much easier than going the long way around.

Hi guys, I’m getting battery backup of nearly 24hrs everyday on my Yureka running on CM11.

Was that something magic spell or super natural power I did on my phone to get such awesome backup? The answer is NO it’s just a tuning which all should follow in the beginning to get such battery backup. So let me explain 1 by 1, and before that I’m not sure if battery tuning works for people who already using phone for more than a week, so battery tuning is for those who got phone just a few days back and not more than a week can do the battery tuning. But some custom settings I’ve explained after battery tuning, which can be applied to all user irrespective of when they bought Yureka. Well the people who are using Yureka for more than a week, you also give it a try.
Battery Tuning:
1. You received your phone, you start unboxing, but before you switch on the phone, just check out user manual for initial charging instructions. For Yureka its 3 hrs. So switch on the phone (without SIM and memory card) check the battery, if battery is below 50% then switch it off and put on charging for continuous 3hrs. Don’t plug out if it reaches 100% in just 2 hrs. Continue charging for 3hrs.
2. After 3+ hrs. Unplug charger, insert SIM and memory card and go on its all yours. Use the phone till it dies of 0% battery. Don’t worry about the backup its giving now. It may give 7 to 12 hrs. backup.
3. When it battery run out of juice and Yureka get switched off, keep it on charging until it reaches 100% don’t switch on the phone in between let it reach 100%.
4. After reaching 100% charge it more for another 10min and unplug charger > switch on the phone > use the phone.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 for another 2 times, yeah it takes nearly 3-4 days to complete from step 1 to the step 5.
6. After completing step 5 you have a tuned battery. Now you have to take care of that. How to take care? here are some small tips :
a. Always keep your phone for charging only when it reaches below 5% (2% is recommended )
b. Never use phone during charging (No camera, No browsing, No Facebook, No games and etc. etc… However in emergency cases usage of internet and calling can be done for 5min.
c. Advised to keep phone in airplane mode for faster charging.
7. It might be difficult to follow Step 6a, as one cannot follow this while travelling. So why don’t you think of a Power Bank?
Using all these not only improves battery backup also keeps your battery healthy.
That’s all about battery tuning. Now let’s look into custom settings for enhanced battery backup:
Battery Management:
1. Keep display brightness to low always when you’re not in direct sunlight. And never keep in Auto Brightness mode unless it is required with higher priority.
2. Turn off the double tap to wakeup feature if you consider battery backup is more important than saving time by not pressing the power button.
3. Turn off the Location when not in use. Just go to settings > scroll down to Personal section and turn it off.
4. Turn off Auto Rotation.
5. Keep dark coloured wallpaper ( I’ve kept NO WALLPAPER ).
6. Turn off vibrations of notifications when it’s not necessary.
7. Turn off Navigation Buttons backlight as its not required always ( once phone become handy, you never need backlight again )
8. Go to settings > Personal section > Privacy > Privacy Guide > tap on option button / 3 dots in the top right corner > select Advanced > Under Location tab , Tap on Google Play Services > scroll down until you see “Wake up “ tap next to it and change option to Denied from Allowed > scroll down until you see “Keep awake “ tap next to it and change option to Denied from Allowed > and in the last row change the same to Denied for “Auto start”.
9. Do the step 6 procedure with Facebook app if you use, but for “Wake up” change it to Always Ask instead changing it to Denied.
10. Disable unnecessary apps like Google Maps, Google Play Books, Google Play Games, Google Play Newsstand, Hangouts, G+ etc… according to your use and needs.
11. Daily once clear data of Google Play Services, go to settings > apps > all apps > google play services > tap on “Manage Space“ > Tap on CLEAR ALL DATA > give OK to the confirmation pop ups.
12. Do the step 9 with Facebook app if you are installed it. (I recommend not to use face book app as it uses lot of battery and memory. But Facebook messenger is quite ok compared with Facebook app.)
That’s all about the customization for battery backup. I’ll update this if I found new tricks and fix to get much more battery backup.

enjoy buddy :good:
Are you disappointed with the OP5 alert slider? Have you ever wished you could expand it's functionality? Well now you can!
I wanted to share a project I've been working on that reacts to the alert slider position. This REQUIRES root as the profile is triggered when the following file has been modified:
/sys/class/switch/tri-state-key/state
This file contains a single integer which coincides to the slider position:
1 (up)
2 (middle)
3 (down)
Isn't there a simpler way (no root)?
I don't think so. As I understand, the alert slider does not send traditional key events (as most buttons do), and although you could monitor the DND status through the %INTERRUPT variable, DND can be triggered independently of the slider position so is not robust.
Fine, I'm rooted and can see the file. How does that help?
When the slider is moved, the following events happen:
1. The file is opened
2. The file is modified (example, change from 1 to 2)
3. The file is closed.
The 'Slider Position' profile is triggered by the 'File Closed' event, then the 'slider' task reads the file to assign the global variable %Slider based on the file's value. From here, you're free to use the variable value to trigger any task when %Slider matches up, mid, or down.
Splendid! So this gives me ABSOLUTE POWER over the slider?!
Not quite. I haven't found a way to replace the stock functions as much as expand on them. For example, the top position natively puts the phone into silent mode. If you create a task to take it out of silent mode, the OOS overrides it, and keeps the phone in silent. So you'll have to work within the confines of the native function, hence enhancement
Lame. So what's it good for?
Here's how the profile is setup now. I'd love to see what your clever minds come up with!
UP: Asleep (all radios off, mobile data off, sync off, battery saver on). Basically dead to the world except calls.
MID: Nothing yet, maybe I'll do some intermediate between the two extremes.
DOWN: Awake (all radios on, data on, sync on, battery saver off). Typical setting for standard usage.
Other ideas:
Coma mode: sleep mode + airplane with or without periodic check in.
Autovoice continuous on/off
Home/work/night profiles
Reading/night modes, invert colors
Auto brightness/rotate
Flashlight
Hotspot
Since I'm a dork and can't figure out how to attach a project zip or thumbnails, here's some screenshots.

Hold down on profile to select, then top right button and you can save it. I'm really interested in this, as it would be perfect for work.
Edit: as you can see I'm a noob Tasker and I downloaded my only profile, I have no idea how to do what you did.
I paraphrased my issue. I can export the project from Tasker without issue, but I can't attach it to the OP. Maybe it's because of my low post count. I've been lurking for years
Nice work! Use a bit of Tasker but didn't give this a thought ?
Can convert this to a 'Quiet Hours' Tasker macro to provide the old functionality of the Quiet Hours settings in LOS? Would be really nice to have a Quiet Hours option, overridden by a change event in the button position. Otherwise, Quiet Hours runs as normal. I sometimes forget to slide up when going to bed, only to have 'dings' wake me.
Never mind, sorry
Make a youtube tutorial? *Chanting make a youtube tutorial* DO IT!
This looks good, I have been using Tasker for a few weeks. I do like the idea of your alert slider idea though.
You can upload the file to Google drive, or afh and post the link. That would be helpful ?
I'm excited to give this a try

Nope, as it's shown the down position is "awake" so fully connected, sound/vibrate, all radios on, sync on, etc. This is intended to mimic typical phone usage and reset all of the "sleep" settings which turned everything off.
I'm working on a "coma" mode for the up position that will put the phone into airplane mode, then disable it every so often to check in, before going back into airplane. Of course, when airplane mode is enabled you wouldn't get push notifications, but they should get pushed as soon as the phone checks in.
As "sleep" mode is shown, with mobile data, wifi, sync off you won't get push notifications, but SMS/call will still work. This mode would work well for the middle slider position where priority DND mode is enabled by default.

Is this thread dead?
The alert slider options to customize are kinda strange, it would be nice if it they were more like the stock Android do not disturb. Trying to use some of my Tasker profiles to mute notifications when connected to Bluetooth speakers but Tasker uses the Android stock do not disturb which conflicts with Oxygen os alerts. Looks like am making new profiles from the ground up.

I agree it's pretty limiting in stock form. Hopefully future updates will give us more control. I wonder if any ROMs on here have been able to modify the slider function.

Hey there. Wanted to try your file but
1. I've copy pasted the profile on Tasker/profiles but it doesn't shows up in selector menu.
2. I've tried adding it manuklay with the "open with" feature of mixplorer but still it doesn't loads up and it says that can open this file with Tasker. Bad intend or something.

And then find your file. Done.
I know its a good thing to have good quality earpiece speakers but the ones on redmi note 8 pro are bit too loud, that even person sitting quite far is able to hear what's been talking about on call conversation. Any fix around for this or any app to fix it ?

2. swipe to Hardware Testing > Audio > Volume >Voice
3. select NB - Receiver - GSM
4. set UL Gain to 100 (or lower)
5. press SET
6. press NB > select WB
7. repeat step 4 - 5 again, do the same for SWB
8. press Receiver > select Receiver_SV

Follow same step except step 4.
On step 4, you increase the value little by little & test it after setting it till you satisfied with the results.
BEWARE: increasing it too much will damage your speaker!

Thanks for answering, I did everything as you specified and I did not find any difference, I got to upload the UL GAin 200 without seeing a difference
Maybe you got the one with factory defect?
I can lower or increase mine.
As for Whatsapp I think it's on step 2 choose: VoIP category rather than Voice.
Maybe some experts here can help me in this?

I tried dialing the code on a Redmi Note 9 Pro and the text simply went away, didn't bring me to a screen to swipe to anything - Is there a similar fix for Redmi Note 9 Pro? (that the speaker is too loud)
Bro, this is MTK only... MediaTek.... Can't work with Snapdragon

Hi. Would I still need step 8 if I were INCREASING the volume for a Bluth Tooth Headset? What are the max "safe" values to increase the headset to as to not damage the headset? Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response.
Thank you for this post. I JUST posted a question regarding this like issue, but, I am trying to INCREASE a Blue Tooth headset volume rather than decrease a traditional handset speaker that would come stock on any cell phone. Here is an attachment of at least one screen I may need to modify.
Thanks again for your time.

Thanks for this guide. I have been looking for it
Can you make a guide for setting correct values to Digital Gain? I have Tecno Camon 18P and at higher playback volumes I notice distortions
