Hello,
I would like to present you a new web and mobile (android) application POI pocket, which is designed for planning, synchronizing and sharing of map points (POI). The Web version allows convenient planning and working with POI on the "big computer". With the synchronized mobile app you will have your POI always with you. Points on your phone or tablet you can easily browse and mainly forward them to your car navigation (Tomtom, Sygic, BeOnRoad, ...) or mapping applications (Google Maps, Locus maps, Orux ...).
Web version: POI pocket
Mobile version: Google Play
If you are using some navigation or maps on your phone, I'll be glad when you test POI pocket. Send me please any comments, technical problems or suggestions for new features.Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Jan Laš

- What is POI
POI "Points Of Interest" are points on the map (GPS coordinates with descriptions) that you are interesting in and that you want to store. It can be a place of business meeting, destination of tourist trip, location of parked cars, etc.
- What is the POI pocket application for
POI pocket is a web and mobile application designed for planning, sharing, and synchronization POI. The Web version allows convenient planning and working with POI on the "big computer". With the mobile app you have your POI always with you. Points on your mobile or tablet you can easily browse and mainly forward them to your car navigation (Tomtom, Sygic, BeOnRoad, ...) or mapping applications (Google Maps, Locu maps, Orux ...).
- The function of mobile application
• Synchronizing with web applications, the ability to work offline
• Browsing information about POI
• Easy forwarding POI to other mobile applications (car navigation, mapping applications,...)
• Quickly create POI from your current location
• Public sharing POI - send POI to anyone via email or SMS
• Support for tablets and mobile phones - various layout of forms
- The function of web application
• Easy creation of new POI, smart location search (based on GPS coordinates, address, URL to various mapping applications....)
• Easy forwarding POI to many web mapping applications. The ability to send more than one POI at one time - route planning
• Public sharing of POI or POI groups - send POI to anyone via short URL link
• Export POI to various data format (GPX, KML,...)
• Synchronizing with any number of mobile devices
• Expansion of web browsers for even easier creating POI - simply by marking text
- Application price
The application is available for FREE. In the basic version can be stored up to 50 POI at one time. That should be enough for most users for everyday work. Who is planning an extended trip, or want to create a larger POI database can buy "POI limit 500, 1500 or 5000".

POI Limit
Hello,
I`ve installed POI Pocket and it looks like a very usefull app. But it`s possible to have more than 50 POIs?
Thanx

Of course you can buy POI limit increase to 500.1500 or 5000 POI. You can do this in a mobile application menu - settings - POI limit. Or write me a PM, for testing are also other possible ways of increasing.

I have bought 1500 limit increase a I successfully imported some POIs from .kml file. I have some other POIs from Garmin in .csv but this file fail to import. Any idea what should be wrong?

Thanks for testing. We support the import of Garmin CSV, but it is possible that you have some different version. Please send us this CSV file to email, we look at it and modify IMPORT algorithm.

Navigations
I have successfully exported POI to Be-On-Road navigation. But why you dont support Garmin Viago?

Vladimir Gorody said:

Because Viago is a new application and does not support import items from other applications ("geo intent" - for android developers). We can do nothing with it. We wrote to Garmin, whether they can add support for this to the next version.
Fortunately, most common navigation and map applications, supports this. In the POI pocket Help you will find a list of supported (and unsupported) applications. But there are hundreds of map applications, so please email us, if some applications will not work with POI pocket. We will try to find a solution.

Yesterday, I tested the application for some time and I find it super, especially in simplicity, how to plan a trip and get points quickly in navigation. I didn`t found any major problems. Only when I had importing a large number of points, the synchronization with phone ran quite long, but I had a bad phone connection, so it may be that.

Thanks for your testing. Yesterday we deployed the new version (1.05), adds some new features, I hope you will like it.

Brilliant idea. Perfect for route planning as well as for traveler's diary.
Ideas for improvement:
Will be possible to add photos to points?
Will be possible periodically updated one selected point according to the current GPS position? This point I would then share to my friends to let them know where I am.
Thanks for the great app PD

Photos - will hopefully be soon, we're working on it
Tracking actual position - an interesting idea, we will think about it. But there are plenty of applications that already support it.
Thanks for your ideas

It is possible to have one account (login) to multiple mobile devices? If so, need I to purchase limit increase again, or it will be transferred automatically to all devices?

Good
App so good

Yes, it is possible. You can connect to one POI pocket account from all you devices (phones, tablets etc.). And "Limit increase" is bind to your Google play account, so you must purchase it once for each Google account.

Extracted Tmobile customizations

Hi Gang - I just bought the HTC s620 so I could use it on CIngular. One thing I noticed though that is missing that I would like to have....the T-mobile Dash has the AO/Messenger?Yahoo/etc chat and email client. Could someone possibly extract that cab installed and post it for us non-t-mobile users?
Thanks in advance/
Seconded! that program looks great. Well done T-Mobile.
I just got the dash, how do I get the .cabs out?
...i'll do some resurche on it now...

They should be on extended ROM I think. Try to use extender ROM unlocker for PPC and see if you can see content of extended ROM. Copy all cabs from there to your PC and then post it here or upload to FTP
TIA
Just be cautious, the IM App they packaged on the MDA used text messages and GPRS. I am not sure if it is the same with the Dash.

i've tried a couple unlock managers, with no luck. i'm very new to this so it could take me some more time.

yes, it uses both text mesages, and gprs.
Since when do smartphones have extended roms? That's a PPC thing, isn't it?
Did anyone ever figure this out? I need the My-Email cab file. WM6 doesn't include this.
NOTE TO ALL:
This will never work. You cannot use the OZ Instant Messenger client that comes with the T-Mobile ROM, or the My E-Mail client on ANY other network. These are set to go to special servers set up inside of T-Mobile, and can only be accessed through the T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE connection.
Therefore, extracting these will do you no good.

okay, in my ppc I was trying to get the IM app to work with cingular service. I think it may possibly be able to work because I found a few keys in the registry which refered to the server being used and the phone number being texted. cingular uses the same OZ im system as T-Mobile. I think that it is a matter of finding the right settings. my problem was that I did not know the message center number that OZim uses on cingular.
Ok This Just Came Down The Line
Instant Messenger Application Now Available for Cingular 8500/8525 and TREO 750!
START AND END DATE:
4/23/2007 - Ongoing
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OVERVIEW:
The Instant Messaging application, currently found on the E62 and Blackjack, is now available via download for the Cingular 8500/8525 and Treo 750. Customers will be able to enjoy access to Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messaging (AIM), and Windows Live Messenger communities through one user interface. In the future all new PDAs and Smartphones will launch with the Instant Messaging application preloaded.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KEY SELLING POINTS:
· Mobile IM from AT&T Mobility offers customers a familiar desktop-like IM experience with features that include existing community user names and passwords, a chat conversation window, buddy lists, presence status, and emoticons.
· Mobile IM offers an immediate, yet informal communication option that other communications cannot provide (e.g. voice, email, text messaging). Consumers can extend their desktop IM community to their mobile device and vice versa (Mobile-to-PC and PC-to-Mobile, and Mobile-to-Mobile IM communications), enjoy 24/7 instant connectivity to their contacts, and communicate in environments that are not conducive to traditional voice conversations.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COMPETITIVE INFO — THE CINGULAR ADVANTAGE:
T-Mobile, Sprint/Nextel and Verizon all offer an Instant Messaging application on select devices:
· T-Mobile provides an IM application for select PDAs, BlackBerry devices. The client is pre-loaded, and supports AIM, Yahoo!, MSN and ICQ within one application. Customers are charged on a per message basis, or can use from a variety of messaging packages and bundles which include messaging.
· Sprint/Nextel provides an IM application on select “Power Vision” capable phones with support for AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! using separate IM applications. Customers are charged by kilobyte (kb) usage, and can choose from a variety of data bolt-ons that include unlimited IM.
· Verizon provides an IM application on select BlackBerry and “Get-It-Now” capable devices. The application is available via a download, and supports AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! within one application. Customers are charged on a per message basis, or can use from a variety of messaging packages.
I can probably grab the keys out of this when its available.

Messaging shouldnt cost with a data package
I thought instant messaging meant that the messages were transfered through the internet requiring a data package. T-mobile had the sidekick set up like that, the way it should be..instead it has yahoo, msn, and aol using sms messaing. I have downloaded getaboo and it works ok with only some minor hiccups thus far and I believe uses the internet and a data package to transmit messages
no good.. oz messenger will no work
Merwin is right, i have a s621 but i don´t use the t mobile network, i live in Mexico so i use Telcel, the messenger will never work, it uses especial servers from tmobile i suposse trouhgh GPRS or Edge connection. I wonder if someone knows if the tmobile home screen with the live and windows media plugins works in other rooms, i have the 1.24.411.1 Russian Experimental Rom WM6 and it works like a champ! but i miss the home screen provided for tmobile...thanks in advanced.

O2 applications

Well in my search for them on this forums I stumbled accross many versions and different threads, and people couldn't find them at all.
That's why I thought to put these wonderfull apps in one topic.
So far got 3 of them, 2 from some chinese site and 1 from here.
O2 plus has like 3 cracked versions, sms plus just 1, and after 2 days of searching I found a cracked version of phone plus!
To bad I can't find the answering machine yet, media plus nor message plus and menu plus.
Anyone got some more? Might take a look at them and try to make all device versions from it.
Versions (all latest to my knowledge):
O2 Plus 2.3
O2 SMS Plus 1.1
O2 Phone Plus 1.0
Here's the description of the 3:

You have not updated this app for a long time. Why? This is an awesome app. Why no update? I am using it on android.
Because WinMo is dead and this thread is only for it and not android.

Hi Vadmi,
Thanks for the input. I see where the problem with the refresh is, I'll fix it in the next release... However, the log file doesn't show pretty much about what is happening. There are 403 errors when trying to connect to reader.google.com but I don't see why...
Did you have an active network connection? (gprs/hsdap or wifi)
Or did you have the device cradled and shared your computers network via active sync?
Thanks,
mc

In the first case (previous post) was ActiveSync connection.
Now GPRS connection (see attached file)
And... when I try to click Setting button, app has quit with error:

Now, WiFi connection
Thanks for all the input.
please find in the main topic a new version: tinyGReader_latest_20100929.CAB
I have found the 403 errors to be related on the certificate google issues on https://google.com.
The strange thing is, i couldn't reproduce this on all devices. I even found differencies in different emaulator images (win-ce 6 vga/qvga gave different results)
I wrote a custom certificate verification and the 403 login issues should now be gone.
I also rewrote some part of the feed fetching of your subscriptions. Some network related stuff has been re-written to be more robust.
some little ui-fixes where included like buttons on a wrong position.
I'm no more using message boxes to indicate a user not being logged in.
cheerz and have a nice day, will fetch now my first coffee...

Hi phon3xx,
could be the same issue experienced by vadmin. I hope the updated version fixes this.
There is still a small lag, when starting the application. This is caused by the XML Serialization which is pretty slow in the Compact Framework...

Hi, mightycoco! I'm sorry for the delay. Yesterday I bought a new 3-D TV and the whole evening playing with my new toy
Now I install the latest version. Error disappeared. I will continue to test ...

Hi Vadim,
what better excuse can one have ;o) Hope it won't be long to have a 3D-Display in some HTC-Device )

Russian translation of last version.
mightycoco, I hope you don't mind?
Great Mightycoco.
now works..
but, how maked as read?
Nice app, fancy making a plugin for the Sense RSStab when it is ready?
BTW, I love the look of the app, looks very nicely designed. +1 for it in black.
Thank you for this nice app. Is there way to avoid using an extern browser to read the full article? On my device the reader used opera mobile. So it takes some time with starting and loading opera mobile. I wonder if it is possible to make the articles opens in a intern browser for showing the full article like in Late reader.

Hi Numaverick,
Entries are marked as read as soon as you open them. I'll add a "keep as unread" option in a future version.

Hi Vadim,
Don't mind at all! I'd even extend this and add the locales as xml or .ini files in the next version. Localizing would be much easier then ;o)

PSA barcode reader
Whe've developed the first barcode reader app for Windows Phone 7. Since version 1.3 we've got a significant better barcode detection and product serach. At the moment there is no way to access the video camera, but I think we've found a good alternative solution.
At the moment the app can only detect EAN13/UPC barcodes, EAN8 will come in one of the next versions.
Games games games
Update - version 1.3 is out. Enjoy!
I've published a Tetris (TM) clone on the marketplace right now, which is getting very good reviews, especially considering there is an official Tetris (TM) game from EA out there.
The name is Tetrada and more info is available here:
http://www.appsfuze.com/games/windowsphone.puzzleandtrivia/tetrada,2947
http://www.karios.gr/?p=109 (this also includes a very nice video of gameplay)
Version 1.3, which is a big improvement, is pending acceptance right now, so v1.2 is the current one.
There is a trial version available that allows you to play a single level at a time, with no time limits.
My second game is almost complete, but I will post more about it when info is available.
My First App: Math Flash Card
http://www.appsfuze.com/games/windowsphone.puzzleandtrivia/math-flash-card,2967
This is an app for your K-5 kids to work on their math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. You can select the number range to work with, and which operations to use. It keeps your score/grade overall and for each area.
I have an update in the works that gives you finer control over the # ranges.
I don't have too many rating, but have sold about 30 copies in a month.

Welcome to the Moon!

YES, That's true: Deluxe Moon for Windows Phone 7 runs on Mac!
Beat Drop
Think this thread is a great idea to get feedback on apps from the community directly .
I created Beat Drop a month ago and is meant to fill my want of hypem for the phone.
Beat Drop is a music blog aggregator that allows you to follow popular music blogs and stream their music straight from your phone.
It's free 99 so download it and let me know what you think!
http://social.zune.net/redirect?type=phoneApp&id=8dcb4dac-bbf7-df11-9264-00237de2db9e
and yes, I would love to add the functionality to have users add blogs. But with blogs not having a standard way of hosting music, I've opted for somewhat of the Hypem approach of having set blogs that are validated/tested to work w/ my app.
I wrote a game where you touch a highlighted square 20 times as quickly
as you can & each time you pressed it, more squares would appear,
plus they would move & change size. Then I decided I could do slightly
better & expanded it to have 5 levels & to keep record of your fastest times.
I called it TouchMeQuick, its free & its now had over 25,400 downloads.
Its completely blown my mind how many people have downloaded it.
The last app I made available to the masses was for windows mobile & I
remember being over the moon when I hit 300 downloads, so this really
has been quite epic for me.
You can see screenshots, video, etc on my website here: CLICKY :3
My app is PicoLyrics. It's like a karaoke - shows animated lyrics, scrolling down and highlighting current line.
