I've done some searching around here and the market, and I can't seem to find a solution any where. I'm looking for a way to put music controls in the notification pull down bar? I think it would be convenient instead of having to switch apps or add one of those pop-up apps. Thanks.

Hmm. Also interested.
I believe some music apps have this built in, but it would be nice to have a system wide version
Bumping this out of curiosity as well. I was playing with my phone and listening to music and realized how beneficial this would be to have...
Although I haven't been able to find a ROM/App that does it yet...

MixZing does this. It also plays videos.
I'm using the incredible does sense desire port right now, and HTC has added a pause button to the pull down menu along with album art. It's very useful, but I still think that a skip button would be a plus.

Just tried mixzing and I'm not seeing notification controls.
I was really looking for a skip too, not just pause. I may have to try the HD port now tho.

Maybe it's right in front of me and I'm crazy but... Is there no music widget for the stock music player?
I searched a few threads already and I can't seem to find the answer. Sorry if this has been explained/asked before.

You already have widget. It shows up in the notification bar when playing music.

The music player was always in the notification area when music is playing. Did they forget the music widget? I can just download another player from the market I'm just curious why there is no music widget.
So any recommended music players and ones with a widget.

Because, you already have easily accessible music controls in the notification bar, a widget is not needed.

I agree it sort of defeats the purpose, why have two things running to control one app? And BTW the lock screen music controls look sweet too. I'm loving this phone so far...

I come from a long list of HTC phones, so naturally I love the Sense music widget. It fills a 3x4 space and shows all the info you need. Of course unless someone mods it, we can't have it on the Epic 4G.
A good one I used for awhile too was an app called PowerAmp in the market. It also has an awesome widget.

I use a combo of sorts. I use DoubleTwist to sync my iTune playlist and I use Winamp to play the music. I do this because I have found that while DoubleTwist will sync playlist it will NOT create a play list and display it on the phone. The native music app will display the playlist but the songs are in reverse order. Winamp will display the play list that DoubleTwist synced and the songs will be in the correct order.
On a side note I have found that the Sony Walkman MP3 players have the best software for playing music. The sound is so much better compared to any other device that plays music.
Sorry to bring back an old thread, but here is a "stock" widget for the Epic 4G Touch that is on the Android Market. Says it is for the Galaxy S, but I can CONFIRM that it does indeed work on the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. Very simple, but it works very well with the stock music player.
Search Android Market for "Samsung Galaxy S music widget"
This is useful if you don't want to get another music player and need something for a lock screen replacement like Widgetlocker.
Hope that helps.

Nice one. I tried that app ages ago and it didn't work with gingerbread, working perfectly now though as the dev has updated it. My home screen has been crying out for a music widget since I left sense.

Honestly I think they both suck but if I had to choose between those two it would be Apollo. Google music caches random things I never asked it to and doesn't cache what I want it to. I use doubletwist.
BOTH
At the same time!!!!!!!!

I think PlayerPro is the best music app, I even payed for it. Pure White theme is amazing
I prefer Apollo, but I have both just in case I want to play music from the cloud.

That's not what was asked... apollo or google play or gtfo... I don't like either, but apollo sucks way less than google play music.....
Google play music, just because of the cloud (only on wifi, not 3g) and the default settings are perfect for car audio. I've played with the Apollo just couldn't find anything that makes it stand out from the abundance of music players on the market.

Apollo is garbage, I was just giving another suggestion because they are obviously not the only music apps. Gtfo? Ok
I use Apollo with the Black theme. I can't say I love it, but it plays music and has the "Hold volume UP to skip" feature... which is really all I need (I use Shuffle All while jogging and it's nice being able to skip a song I dont want to hear without needing to even look at my phone). Last time I checked the Volume UP skip didn't work with Play Music.
I do wish Apollo would get an update with more features, neater UI, and do better with album art.

As long a Google music keeps the cloud service, it can't suck. Besides being able to customize the equalizer, organize music, and how it looks what more could you want out of the millions of music apps?

If it's only used for cloud then it's ok. I live out west so when I leave urban areas service its spotty so I have to have music on the phone as well. Google music doesn't cache what I tell it to. It just caches random things so because of that I say it sucks.
Power amp could be good. It has a lot of features but the interface sucks.
you save music for offline mode before you leave the house. Google Music because of the free cloud service.

I really want to use multi-window, but I just can't imagine a scenario when it'd be useful!
Do you use it? Which apps do you use together?
I use it to make iphone users jealeous.

Great for media consumption while doing other things like texting or something.

I tried enabling multi-window to use with any apps but it's not working. Anyway I'd use it for a lot of multi-tasking, like watching a Netflix documentary and taking notes, or playing a game and watching a video, etc. Mostly media/texting.
Ditto on LastPass.

Yes. Just found out the same problem a few minutes ago.
I don't believe it happens with Netflix. Just the google play apps (Music, Movies & TV).
