I was running 2.007.01 with the custom build prop from crossix, for over a week the .04 update has been nagging me so this morning, I put the original build.prop back then upgraded. Everything went fine except I cant load the custom build.prop right now. Any suggestions? Should I revert to .01? or manually change the current build.prop?
Thanx in advance guys
Did you re-root?

Unfortunately, any time you upgrade to a new build you have to re-root, no way around this I'm afraid. Rooting has gotten a little easier though.. check my signature below
Thanx guys, I thought I was still rooted but that was indeed the issue
I want to try and flash a single patched .apk from the OTA update everyone else got except T-Mobile (I am looking at the AT&T update specifically). Yes, I could wait until we get ours, but I also want to learn. For what it's worth, I want to try and flash the patched bluetooth.apk to see if it fixed my bluetooth issues.
First off, is it even possible to flash or push a single patch file from an OTA update like that? If not, can I somehow decompile the patch and the original .apk, combine, and flash that?
Second, how can I deodex it for my ROM? Most decompliers I have seen don't recognize the apk.p format, only .apk. Obviously I can change the extension, deodex it with a tool, then change it back, but I don't know if that's "correct".
Any input on this would be great! Thanks in advance!
A couple of weeks ago I started getting the update notifications. Last time I got these I flashed a new rom and they went away, and I will be doing this again. However, my wife said that she really likes how her phone is set up and does not want to have to set it up again. Is there a way to flash the update (and make the popups go away) without having to upgrade to an entirely new ROM?

There are ways. If the phone is rooted, the easiest way is to edit the build.prop, download a build.prop editor and find all the build numbers, i.e. MD4, and change them all to mk3 and then reboot.

I want to make my phone as stock Android as possible without using an AOSP ROM. I'm running the 20b firmware and the old method of replacing stock apps seems to have changed slightly. I know I'll need to replace APKs SOs and delete ODEX files. Then wipe cache and dalvik but I'm having trouble figuring it out. Has anyone already done this and if so which apps are safe to replace?

There is a new 5.01 update for the LG G3 that is being rolled out right now. You can to TMobile's LG G3 support page and find the instructions on how to download to your computer the update and send it to the phone using LG's update tool. You will then have a "stock" phone, and it should have the stock apps as well. Just not 4..4.2 Kit Kat. Everyone will be eventually updated automatically to this so 4.4.2 won't be around any longer for the G3 anyway.
At least that's how I would approach it. Good Luck.

Root uninstaller, titanium backup.
Make sure to make a complete nandroid backup before and don't delete google voice or it will cause instability in rom.

Yes this is the case, but the whole purpose of the thread (look at the title) is to replace the stock LG apps which he apparently needs. not to upgrade to 5.0.1 like you noticed.
I don't know what the ROMs have, but I do know that this update likely will have the stock apps rolled into it from his provider. If he wanted he could use the root uninstaller tool pull any apps and move to whatever rom he wanted. But he did say that he wanted "to make my phone as stock Android as possible without using an AOSP ROM. "
Thanks for the help. I'm actually to replace LGs apps with the as many Google apps as possible. When I have a little more time I'll get it finished and post a walk through or write a script.
Hi all,
I need someone to do me favor. When I took the 12a ota, I rooted it with the root injection method. However, I didn't make a backup of my stock unrooted system image. The way it sits now I am permanently rooted. I can't KDZ back to 11a for obvious reasons and when I reset to factory defaults, even through the LG recovery screen, it still keeps root. Since it's possible that big red pulled the 12a ota due to notification issues and such, I will not be able to take any more ota's until a KDZ is released.
So after expanding on that, all I'm asking is for someone with a Verizon variant of the G4 that is on 12a but is NOT rooted to please pull a copy of their stock UNROOTED system image (preferably right after a factory reset) and put it up somewhere for me to grab. That way if another ota comes back, I have a way to get back to stock without having to wait for a KDZ to be released. If someone is willing to do this for me, please post the MD5 so I don't flash a bad download.
Thanks so much in advance.
Anyone?
Try to unroot from super SU and uninstall Xposed with the zip if exists , might be helpful...
Unfortunately I am on 10B ?

I know this is unrelated to your question, but is there anyway you could either copy your build prop info to a text or share your build prop file? Trying to see if the touch screen info on their would solve the issues on older versions of the software! Thanks in advance!
