Sony Xperia Ion Lt28h "Stuck" - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

First of all, Sorry for my english writing, I'm from México and I don't have a perfect grammar.
Yesterday I installed the Carbon Rom and when I rebooted my Ion for the 1st time, It got stuck at Sony's logo screen, then I tried to Hard Reset (Power + Volume Up), but only got a black screen with back lighting, So I thought I bricked my phone.
I let it Ran full out of battery, so I could flash it into stock rom, but when I Connected it to charger and waited a while, It turned on and I was able to use it, I used it for almost 4/6 hours, and let me tell It's the best rom for KK I've tried, but when I tried to make a phone call, my screen went black (but the phone was working cause I could hear the Volume sounds when I pressed the buttons) and I tried to do Hard Reset to see if I could make this work, but when It turned on, again it's on Sony screen and I can't get out of there, It won't let me Hard Reset, I've tried with the Volume Up + Power but my phone just won't let me! Does anybody know how to fix it?

Whenever u install any thing u must ask any expert because it may save our expensive mobile.. When I install somethings I ask xda member should I install or not
Can't Help I m not expert
Sorry for bad English

[Q] Tried Flashing ICS now my Phone is BRICKED HELP!

So I first heard about the ported ICS rom on Galaxys2root.com So I downloaded and flashed the file from there which was about 300mbs. Flashed then got stuck in a bootloop. I was able to restore a backed up rom. I thought it might've been the wrong rom so I found a thread here with ICS ROM. Flashed it... same boot loop problem except the first rom boot halfway to a att boot screen. this one just stayed black. At first power button turned on the phone to a battery screen but then turned black.. no animations followed. Now the phone is not responded to any button pushes. It just vibrates intermittently when I plug it in to my charger. It had maybe 35% battery life when it got caught in the boot loop the second time. I'm thinking since the power button was working at first that maybe the intermittent vibrating is because my battery is now dead and it won't charge? Is that possible or is my phone just fuqed? Some one please help!!!!!!!! p.s sorry for the long post.

Seems like you messed up on wipes. I had different problem when i didnt wipe well. The link you posted from this forum is not usable ICS. Try to get ur phone on download mode and flash via odin.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I read later on in that thread that I was supposed to perform a super wipe. Also I can't get my phone into download mode. It won't even turn on. It just vibrates maybe every 3 seconds when I plug it in to charge. When its not plugged in it won't do anything.
Try using a different cable to get into download mode. Specifically an LG cable. I've heard of this working for other people.

Yes I've tried pulling the battery. Does nothing except vibrate when i plug it in to charge. still won't turn on. Why is the vibrate a good thing?

Any kind of response from the phone is a good thing. Worst case scenario is phone literally doesn't do anything or respond to any type of stimulus.
So I'm assuming you know how to access CWM and download mode but just in case there's some confusion, here's how I always access them:
CWM - hold power and volume +/- buttons until phone vibrates then keep holding all (do not let go) until CWM appears. (Others don't have to keep holding after the vibrate, but when I first flashed my phone it wouldn't boot into recovery unless I kept the buttons depressed until CWM actually appeared)
Download - (phone powered off already) hold volume +/- buttons (not power); plug in USB cable (still holding buttons); wait for vibrate (still holding buttons); download mode screen appears (release buttons only after this point)
If nothing else works, you can always try sending it back to Samsung/Tmobile to see if they'll replace it for you. If you can't get it to odin/download mode then chances are good that they won't be able to tell that it was rooted and thus would have no reason to void your warranty.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, raver's AOSP ICS ROM (the second one you flashed) doesn't have boot animation support so it's supposed to stay black on boot. Experimental ROMs especially may take a long time for first boot so you should always not touch it for at least 10 minutes before you try any kind of battery pull or powering off.
there are a lot of threads about people having problems when following instructions on galaxys2root.com

I'm Back In The Game!!! The weirdest thing happened. So I went to my friends house and put my battery in his s2 to see if it had any life and it was. I threw it back in my phone and for some reason it booted up to the ROM I flashed. ICS was beautiful on it but I immediately went back to my recovery rom lol. Lesson learned. Thanks guys for the help this was my first time posting a problem on this forum and I love how quick everybody is to help.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Can be a pretty scary experience. Remember: patience is your friend, especially the first time you boot to a new ROM. If you think the boot screwed up, the best way to ENSURE that it screws up is to power it off/pull battery. Always wait 10 minutes before touching it.

Xperia play vibrates but doesnt turn on?!?!

Hi,
So I've had my Xperia Play (R800i) for almost a year now. It was working perfectly fine like any other day, then i didn't charge it one night. So now, it doesn't turn on at all. I hold down the power button, it vibrates, like it always does to tell me its turning on.. But nothing! Nothing comes up, the screen just stays blank like its turned off. My first thought is to take out the battery and put it back in but nothing. I try countless times, but still the end result, was a blank phone. When i put it on charge (before i hold the power button), nothing happens, then after a few seconds the LED charging light turns on, it was orange or red, i cant remember, so i left it like that. Came back a few hours later, the light was green, but still nothing happens when i try turn it on, except that little pitiful vibrate i get every time. I did leave my phone off by itself for a bit and still the same result. Yes my phone was rooted but i did this way back before this happened. So please help me, i beg of you.

I had this problem, and if you flash a JB kernel, you will see that the screen will show up, so the problem is that ALS chip doesn't work anymore, so you have to replace it, in ebay there are a ton of them. I thought it was a water damage in my case and i broke it, so won't boot up anymore.

This might be off topic but i LOL'd a bit there. I know he is just trying to help and I also get your point but it made me giggle when i read your post like "wtf bro why do you always have the same answer in every black screen thread." I don't know, maybe I'm just nuts. LOL!
Anyway, back to topic, We have the same situation. Black screen and just vibrates when you switch it on. It's been 4 days since my phone died on me. I really missed my Xperia Play now. But as fma965 said on the other Q&A thread, it might be the flex cable. Good luck and I hope you can fix your phone. Not unlike me, my only option is to buy a new one.

A hard bricked phone won't do any thing no matter what is done. If a light or anything reacts then you have some level of soft brick.
Use the rubber band trick to flash back to stock.
The solid red led means low level charging. Low level charge is on until the battery level is enough to start kernel charging (battery icon screen)
When the red led goes out but before the phone turns on is the tiny time frame you have to enter flash mode. So you use a rubber band to hold volume down.
Read about the trick in my recovery thread in my signature.

Long time ago I faced a same problem. My phone stuck at RED light. I just dissemble the phone and disconnect battery cable from motherboard and reconnect the cable. Then I hold power button and volume + button until 3 vibrate. (10 second). Now the phone is off. After that I connect phone to computer while holding volume down button and flash stock ftf.
Give it a try.

Yeah its STAR Screw. Approx 7-8 total adding both sides.
Im not gonna open it, anyways i'm giving the phone to service centre. i don't have time to wait for the battery to charge / Drain or anything.
Hope they can fix this in matter of hours.
For future reference, you will need a torx t6 ( or t5 cant remember exactly) for the star screws. The ion is easy to take apart, hope they fix yours.

Difference between Hard reset and taking battery apart

I have a bricked Xperia Ion that would boot loop on sony logo without being recognized by my computer and as far as I tried, I cant get it to flashmode. It's a Kernel issue because when my phone exits low charging mode, it just bootloops again until the battery drains itself.
It's a lt28at, so my bootloader is locked. Here where I live (venezuela) is difficult to find the apropiate tools to take apart my phone and unplug the battery from the mainboard, but i had already tried hard reseting my phone twice, leaving it to charge and then as soon the red led dissapears, I prepare flashtool with my firmware and connect it keeping the down volume key pressed with no luck.
I*ll keep trying, everybody says my phone is impossible to brick due to the locked bootloader but I have a question that needs to be answered:
Hard reseting the phone does the same effect than taking my batery apart and leave the phone 10-15 to reset itself?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
No the hard reset is not the same. For some reason the device will freak out causing this issue. Taking the device apart and unplug the battery is the best way to get your phone running again. It takes allot less time and is not hard to do with a bit of mechanical knowledge. If you want to try the other way then listen careful. When you do the reset with power and volume there is actually three phases. We know about the one buzz and three buzz. If you have payed attention while doing it you may have noticed that just before the first buzz the screen will bleed out and shut off. If you do that after it starts to loop from charging it should then allow you to plug it in to the computer in flash mode.
Keep in mind if it does buzz you will most likely have to start over. So as soon as you see it let go of the buttons. Hope it helps.
Ok, so I get the first buzz, then immediately i left the up button to press the down button while connecting to pc with flashmode ready? I don't know what i'm doing wrong, because it just starts to loop again.
Try reinstalling your Flash tool & the drivers of your device is might help you to detect flashboot

No you can not let it buzz. You must let go as soon as you see the screen start to bleed out. It does this just before the first buzz. Again if you watch it while holding the buttons the screen will start to shut off. As soon as you see it you must let go of the buttons. If you do it right it will shut off and then you can try to connect it with flash mode. Also before you set up your flash make sure the device connects and loads the flash driver. Then you can flash your file.

The newer Sony devices have a reset function seeing as most have internal battery's. By holding the power and volume + keys it will do one of three things.
1 After about three seconds the screen will go off almost like it bleeds out. This is force shut off.
2 If you keep holding the buttons it will buzz once. This is force reboot.
3 If you continue to hold them it will buzz three times. This is a force reset. Almost like a battery pull type situation.
Thanks so much.
With a stock kernel, how reliable is this?

Infinite bootloop

Hello guys, I had a problem with my phone. I took a photo and the phone restarted alone. Then it started to bootloop infinte times. I do the reset button trick, I repaired with Xperia Companion, I flashed with Flashtool and it keeps bootloping every time. I send you two photos, the first shows you that it's switching on and the second where it does the bootloop with 3 red lights flashing. Can you help me?, or it's something hardware related?. In Argentina can't fix it if it's hardware because this phone wasn't launched in my country.
Okay something is going here. Sony Kill Switch activated in all Z5P?? because Why is everyone having this issue at the same time after like 5 years of smooth sailing?
OP needs to clarify what has been tried. Did you try all the basic reset tricks and holding buttons etc? if you did your last resort will be be allow boot loop to continue until drained. Then fully recharge and use the volume keys to skip the sony logo and boot to the android swirly flash screen thing. Safe boot or fast boot whatever it is
I starting to see a trend with the dates these issues are happening... hopefully this is just a user that has not tried the basics.
p.s.#Only responding coz noone else has bothered

Yesterday i Flashed my first Sony device. It failed 3 times before i got it to work.
Fist it failed on the PC, Then 2nd time It bootlooped. 3rd Time it finally installed applications. Then Bootlooped 1 more time.
I now have A Sony Z5 with 6.01. I am amazed that it worked but there are issues with both Sony phones and Xperifirm that seem to make it hit or miss
I am going to return my XZ3 becuase it is horrible. The Z5 Premium is by far the best Sony avilable. It is worth sending to SONY for repairs
@op
- Try again with Xperifirm / FlashTool 0.9.25
I did it, nothing happen. Same at always.
I keep it switched off some months to see if it starts again alone with the time but no.
It's keep bootloading.
