This had been asked and answered so many times........ Why yet another thread. .... It's a Android 4.4.2 issue.
Choices:
1a. Root your device: and install one of the sdcard kitkat fixes from Google Play Store or mod system file yourself.
1b. Root and install ROM with inbuilt fix
2. Transfer to internal storage, then manually move from internal to external sdcard with the STOCK file manager
3. Live with it until Android update to 4.4.3 + is released, whenever (if ever) that happens. ..

Can you offer any additional info? Have to used Root Explorer or a similar app to confirm without a doubt the files are gone and not just in a different place? And I am slightly confused when you say "move to sd card" because internal storage and SDcard on this phone are the same thing since there is no EXT..
I copyed files as usualy from computer to the nexus
After the copy (I copied the new google apps zip) this zip is ont the storage, but all other 12Go of data in the card are disapeared
I try to find it with windows, root explorer, es file explorer, I tryed android undelet tools and windows undelet tools... noone can see the MTP memory of the nexus .......
And I disabled the upload to picasa..

Do you have fast usb charge enabled? If so, try disabling that.
all files in /sdcard disappeared
The same thing just happened to me. I copied 386MB of music to /sdcard/Music and all appeared to be fine. I used Windows7 x64 Explorer over USB mounted as MTP.
I noticed that I could not copy some files back to Windows from Nexus. After messing around with that for a while I used ES File Explorer to check out /sdcard. Only a few folders were there, as if /sdcard were newly created. I could still see all of the lost folders in Windows Explorer.
Am I screwed?
TIA!
This is from a corrupt MediaStore DB. I ran into something similar when moving files to my phone over WiFi using File Explorer. Afterwards only a handful of folders showed up when connected via USB. Only way to fix it is to reset the DB. Settings > Apps > All > Media Storage > Clear data/cache. Reboot. It should completely rebuild the DB after the boot, and things should show up correctly again.

That did not get all my data back, I must have done something else while trying to fix it. The good news is that this fixed one of my next questions: How do I reset the Google Music album art? The suggestion above fixed that wonderfully.
Thanks!

[Q] Trouble copying files to OBB Folder S4 Mini

Hi everyone!
I recenty bought a Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9192 with Android 4.2.2 and I can't copy any file to the OBB folder. The phone is already rooted, and even so,Windows shows up an error message saying that the device is disconected.I already tried to copy with a file manager or unzip on the folder, but even when the files were sucefully copied,an error saying that something was wrong with the license was shown.
Just to make more clear:
I'm a noob, but I know that this version of Android has this blocking,
I rooted with Kingo Root, already checked and the phone is really with root permissions.
Also, this phone is an Brazilian version. The baseband is UBUBMK4 and the roms of the international version (including Cyanogen) doesn't seen to work correcty on it.They got problems with Wi-Fi and dual - sim drivers.
Can U guys help me? And sorry for any English mistakes..
Don't really understand your problem, but obb files must be on the emulated sdcard the path is
/storage/sdcard0/Android/obb
The i9192 don't have any usable version of custom rom (cyanogen)
I think you already tripped knox, why dont you try a different kernel

I noticed the same problem on my 9190 yesterday, I tried two different OBB files and windows said the device disconnected.
I'm not sure what is causing this but I found out that if you copy the OBB files to the SD card first, and then use a file manager on the device, you can move it into the OBB folder
I hope this solves your problem
And i have same problem with u.. but after im using Foldermount my prob is already solved.. u can find out in xda.. try search Foldermount.apk..

[Q] Query for someone to try...WOULD BE HELPFUL TO ME..

If u have got a SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10.1 (2014 EDITION) V 4.4. Can u please do something for me? Can u download ES file Explorer . Then can u Rename a file on the Internal storage by using ES FILE EXPLORER l(if it lets u) and if done successfully then can u move that file onto the EXTERNAL STORAGE using MY FILES (If it lets you). And then check if it doesnt say that "the system does not let you read and write on external storage". If done correctly then can u respond to this so i can then upgrade my Own Tablet to v4.4 as i am on my accord at v4.3 cos of the read and write allowance. ( btw it works on my samsung galaxy s5 which is the latest version which is v.4.4.2).
It would be so much helpful to me if someone trys this..
Thanks
You cannot move files to external storage with ES File Explorer if you're on 4.4. I think you need root access in order to do it (not sure of the exact process).
You can however do all of that with Samsung's My Files.
Edit: Just tried it again, it says "Your system forbids ES from writing on external SD card (check https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=67570), so ES can only write on it after rooted."

That is what he actually asks you to do. Use "My Files" to move the renamed file not "ES File Explorer" for the test.
I'm currently at work and don't have the tablet with me, but I'll try today in the evening, if no one did the test until then.

U dont need root for this. Ive got an s5 v4.4.2 and its unrooted and still is. It lets me do exactly what i said in the post earlier. It lets me RENAME A FILE via es file explorer and lets me MOVE THE FILE via My Files. Just wanna find out if its possible to do exactly the same on note 10.1 tablet cos i recently downgraded it from V.4.4.2 to v.4.3 cos of the read and write restriction on v.4.4.2 . Would do it myself but dont wanna go to thru the process of upgrading and then downgrading if it does not work. So im asking someone if they have or will do it for me??.

[Q] LG G3 Lollipop - No Internal SD Card?

I have a strange problem and I haven't been able to find a resolution online. I'm hoping someone smarter than me can offer a solution.
I have an AT&T LG G3 (LG-D850). When I got it, it had stock KK. I rooted it with Bump and everything was cool. I stayed with stock.
Last night I upgraded it to Lollipop using the stock, bump'd LG-D850 20F Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM from autoprime. I didn't run into any problems with the install. The phone appeared to be working fine.
However, today I'm having trouble with the internal storage. When I try to download a file from the internet, it's failing. In the stock browser, it just fails. Downloads says "<Unknown> Failed." In Firefox, it tells me "Cannot download file because SD card is in use." In Chrome, it tells me "No SD card."
I'm also not able to move files to or from internal storage. I can cut, copy, and paste files from one folder on my external card to another on my external. However, I can't cut, copy, or paste files from one folder in my internal storage to another folder in my internal or external storage. I've tried both the stock file explorer as well as FX.
I tried the SDFix app from NewApp on the off chance that it would help (I read somewhere it would also work on L), but it had no effect.
I can still download apps from the Play store and install them. However, if I create a new file in QuickOffice, I can't save it ("Failed to save document.") I can navigate to root and copy/cut/paste files from the data/app folder to my external card and other folders. I think the issue is the system/sdcard folder. The owner/group on the folder is root and read, write, and exec are all checked.
Does anyone know what the permissions on that folder should be? Or if that's really my problem at all?
Thanks.

@suljo94 Awesome! That fixed it! :good:
Googleing restorecon brought up a whole bunch of hits about this problem along with this solution. Too bad I couldn't find the answer unless I already knew the answer
this should be added to the autoprime thread or on the q&a for all variants.
Is there anyway to fix internal sdcard? i get bricket on a F460K and cant install .zip files in recovery philz, when i choose zip from/sdcard resolves "Couldn't open directory" and "ni files found" but i can put files in "sdcard" via adb =/, anyone know a way to fix it?. thanks!.
@bolillo It's in the main thread now, first post. It looks like it was added on 3/19.

I tried using this command instead an it worked for me.
"adb shell
su
restorecon -FR /data/media/0"
P.S i'm using no SD Card
Would this work for media (ie. mp3)?
I can't seem to find a fix.. All my music doesn't show in any music app and can't find a solution.. Already checked for .nomedia files, cleared media storage and forced a rescan for media and and formatted internal and external SD cards... No luck.
Thanks

Fantastic!! I had the same problem with my LG G3 D850. I installed the stock rom from the TWRP recovery and was with this same problem. After performing this process my problem was solved !! But the pictures of the Camera application are not saved in the internal memory. What should I do to fix this??

@P760x when you type adb devices, what do you get? If it doesn't list any devices you probably need to reinstall the phone drivers on your computer. If it does list your phone, then there's something else wrong.

(i'm getting nothing)That's the whole point. My pc searches and founds my device. It perfectly worked on 4.1x JB, it founds instantly.
For some reason, when i connect my phone into mtp (Files transfer to pc) mode my pc can't find any items in phone,so does extraction applications in my phone,it's just all empty, even though i have gApps, custom kdz.
I tried with terminal emulator (android version) - it says permission denied,so i think that requires root? I would get instantly but i can't transfer or download anything to my phone...?

@P760x I noticed that I can't connect my phone in MTP mode unless developer options are on and USB debugging is on. I didn't have that problem on KK, only Lollipop.
If adb devices still doesn't list your phone after that, manually download and reinstall the phone drivers from LG. I've had multiple occasions when Windows eats those drivers, so that's the first place to start.
Hopefully that helps.
