Haven't seen the 6506 OTA yet. So this downloader is legit?
edit: Can't get it to go. Got JRE and .NET3.5 so it should, but it hangs.
edit2: Nevermind. Don't use that 1.0 version in the link. Here is 2.5 with good instructions:

Inspired by the old and good NaviFirm (Nokia firmware downloader).
Lets you download the current Android firmwares for all Sony/Sony-Ericsson smartphones and tablets, mostly of the Xperia line.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Windows XP SP2 or newer!
+ Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or newer!
+ Flashtool* OR Java Runtime Environment 8:
--- for Windows 32-bit: http://filehippo.com/download_jre_32/
--- for Windows 64-bit: http://filehippo.com/download_jre_64/
* If you have Flashtool installed, Java Runtime is bundled with it and doesn't have to be installed separately. Just extract XperiFirm's files to Flashtool's folder and run XperiFirm.exe from there. (See screenshot below)
* For Windows 8 or 8.1 users: If you want to run XperiFirm without installing any old .NET Framework, make sure you also extract "XperiFirm.exe.config" to the same folder XperiFirm.exe is located. [Thanks to aphanic for pointing out this Windows 8 issue]
CHANGELOG:
v2.5 [August 16, 2014]:
- FIX: Fixed a critical bug which prevented getting releases of old phone models (blame Sony Mobile for their inconsistencies)
- FIX: A fixed "XperiFirm.exe.config" included, thanks to aphanic.
- NEW: A new info was added to XperiFirm Downloader - the "Network" name. Useless for most users, but provides general idea about the intended networks the firmware supports.
v2.4 [August 12, 2014]:
- FIX: Fixed the support for firmwares of the same version but different revisions.
v2.3a [August 11, 2014]:
- MINOR: Added the firmware revision to the firmware's folder created by XperiFirm when starting a download.
v2.3 [August 11, 2014]:
- NEW: Automatic check for the latest XperiFirm version. If it finds a new version, it offers you to open this thread.
- NEW: Firmware revision was added to the release version (Screenshots updated)
- MINOR: When you sort the CDAs by "Latest Release", after running "Check All", the CDAs are automatically resorted.
v2.2c [August 10, 2014]:
- FIXED: The transfer speed indicator was fixed.
v2.2b [August 10, 2014]:
- FIXED: The transfer speed indicator update rate was changed from extremely fast to once per second, in order to lighten up on CPU and RAM usage, especially on older computers.
- MINOR: "XperiFirm.exe.config" is now packed with XperiFirm, you can chose not to extract it with the JAR and EXE if you don't use Windows 8.
v2.2a [August 9, 2014]:
- FIXED: A minor bug was fixed, that made XperiFirm crash when Downloader is closed while downloading a firmware.
v2.2 [August 9, 2014]:
- NEW: The XF Downloader's code was rewritten to increase speed + Transfer rate indicator added & estimated remaining time.
- MINOR: XperiFirm window is now resizeable/maximizable, by users' request.
v2.1 [August 5, 2014]:
- MINOR: Just a tiny cosmetic fix of the panels, just because I'm such a perfectionist. (Screenshorts updated)
v2.0 [August 3, 2014]:
- FIXED: XperiFirm will now use Java 64-bit in Windows 64-bit.
- NEW: Quickly check the latest firmware versions available for all CDAs of a specific device by pressing "Check All". (Totally kills Xperia Updatechecker, sorry )
- NEW: You can use the Java Runtime Environment bundled with Flashtool, by copying XperiFirm.exe & XperiFirm.jar to Flashtool's folder.
v1.0 [July 31, 2014]:
- Download firmware for all Sony/Sony-Ericsson Android-based devices.

System Requirements
Radio 2.15.50.14
HSPL 2.08
MAGLDR 1.13 / cLK 1.5
ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6
Class 4 microSDHC card with 1 GB EXT4 partition
Installation
Starting from version 3.0 all installation packages were merged and now full build includes files for all supported configurations.
Installation is fully automatic with few exceptions - AROMA installer enables users to choose from:
Wipe user data (and align EXT partition)
Leave user data intact
Data is 1st partition
Data is 2nd partition
Data is 3rd partition
Data is 4th partition
Data is 5th partition
Data is 6th partition (this is the default position)
Data is 7th partition
marc1706 kernel
GBLeo kernel
AD2SDX
DA2SDM
DataOnEXT + DalvikOnNAND
NAND (for T-Mobile HD2 only)
Enable ZRAM
Disable ZRAM
Other device configuration is detected automatically.
For NAND partitioning I recommend using HD2 NAND Toolkit, but you can use other tools if you want:
Required misc partition size for all configurations is 1 MB
Recovery partition size can be determined by the size of recovery.img
Required boot partition size for all configurations is 5 MB
Required cache size for all configurations is 5 MB
Required system partition size for all configurations is 100 MB for both phone models
User data partition should spread the rest of the NAND
For SD card partitioning I recommend GParted on Linux or MiniTool Partition Wizard on Windows:
FAT32 partition must be first and EXT4 partition must be second, both must be primary partitions
Linux Swap partition is not supported, because it only degrades the performance. Use ZRAM swap if you want more performance!
GPS configuration included in the ROM by default is optimized for global use, there is no need to alter configuration for different regions!

1024 MB EXT4 partition on SD card for App2SD and Data2EXT versions
Installation
I decided to split entire ROM package into several smaller archives because it is easier to maintain and provide updates for different configurations. This resulted into four packages:
Base package – As the name suggests this is the core of the ROM, it contains entire system partition and boot partition for MAGLDR. This is required and should be flashed firtst.
MAGLDR to cLK conversion package – cLK users will need to flash this package over the base to install kernel support for cLK to be able to boot and use mobile data.
Data2EXT package – This package will install required components for Data2EXT version (special version for cLK also included).
Applications for EXT – This package contains all system applications that will be installed onto EXT partition on SD card. It is intended for App2SD version users. This is required and should be flashed last because the installer script sets required system settings and permissions.
Applications for System – This package contains all system applications that will be installed onto system partition on NAND. It is intended for NAND-only and Data2EXT versions users users. This is required and should be flashed last because the installer script sets required system settings and permissions.
Post-installation package – THis package contains user applications that can be downloaded from Market but are included as default (e.g. Gmail). This package comes is for Data2EXT and NAND-only versions and must be flashed AFTER a first boot.
For NAND partitioning I recommend using HD2 NAND Toolkit (latest stable ClockworkMod Recovery is here), but you can use other tools if you want:
Required misc partition size for all configurations is 1 MB
Recovery partition size can be determined by the size of recovery.img or can be set to 5 MB
Required boot partition size for all configurations is 5 MB
Required cache size for all configurations is 5 MB
Required system partition size for App2SD version is 240 MB
Required system partition size for Data2EXT and NAND-only versions is 400 MB
User data partition should spread the rest of the NAND
For SD card partitioning I recommend GParted on Linux or MiniTool Partition Wizard on Windows:
EXT2 and EXT3 are also supported, but you will get best performance when using EXT4 file system
FAT32 partition must be first and EXT partition must be second, both must be primary partitions
GPS configuration included in the ROM by default is for Europe region. Since there is specific configuration for every location, you need to flash configuration files with AGPS auto update from here for your location (latest GPS libraries are also there).
Here is the list of packages for each version:

Versioning
As you can see, I will provide many smaller packages, that can be flashed on top each other. Therefore I have introduced four number versions, just like regular .NET assblies have:
[major].[minor].[build].[revision]
I will try to follow these rules when versioning (you can then see what packages are compatible with each other):
any major version will be a full build, only packages with the same major version will be compatible, full wipe is required before flash
minor versions will contain full build also, but the changes between minor versions will be compatible with other minor version (assuming major version is the same)
packages with increased build number will be updates only, they will contain only differences from base minor version
revisions will be updates too, but the changes will be very small, they will contain differences from base build
extras are only update packages and should be flashed on top of fully flashed ROM
any exceptions to the rules will be clearly visible at the download links
Here are some examples so that you understand what I mean:
eclipse_base_1.0.0.0, eclipse_clk_2.1.0.0 and eclipse_eu_ 3.6.0.0 are full releases but since they have different major versions, they are not compatible
eclipse_base_1.0.0.0 and eclipse_us_1.1.0.0 are full releases but they should be compatible
eclipse_base_1.1.1.0 is updated build, you need to flash eclipse_base_1.1.0.0 before applying
eclipse_base_1.1.2.1 is updated revision, so you need to flash eclipse_base_1.1.0.0 full package and eclipse_base_1.1.2.0 updated build before applying
Since there are many packages with different versions the thread title will show version of the latest base package. The most important clues how to find updates is to check thread date and see history below.

Troubleshooting
From time to time some users can individually experience small issues. Here is the list with workarounds:
On first boot WiFi can indicate to be on and connected but there will be no internet connection. That is normal in many Gingerbread builds, just reboot and from that moment WiFi should work correctly.
If you cannot acquire GPS lock, flash GPS_Libraries_vX.X_RPC_for_HD2_Gingerbread_update.zip from HERE.

OK..I can try that your way. I will post links to download and delete whole information about flashing...then I will wait about a half of a day and add the information back...then we will see if the users will give positive feedback. I decided to write OP first, then upload files...I think this is the right way of how to do a first post, when I need to write long OP...updates will be fine, there is not so much writting.
Daekin,

2. Install the latest version of Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) 2.7+ Note this ROM will NOT install with older versions of recovery!
TWRP OFFICIAL DOWNLOADS
Download the recovery file from above, put it into the same folder where you have adb and fastboot files. Please rename it to twrp.blob or cwm.img and follow the instructions below:
CWM:
Connect your transformer to your PC, reboot to the bootloader to enable fastboot by either holding down [power] and [volume down] or opening a command prompt in your adb.exe folder in windows:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
To flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery cwm.img
or
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob
A blue bar will go accross the screen on the tab and the command prompt will indicate it was successful in about 10 seconds
Then reboot the tablet either back to the bootloader or to android to complete
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot-bootloader
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
You can now access the recovery by pushing [volume up] on the RCK icon in the bootloader screen

Remember if you are on rom2sd you beed to flash rom2sd1.zip first and if on data2sd use data2sd1.zip first.
FILES ARE SIGNED. IF YOU ENABLE SIGNATURE VERIFICATION IN RECOVERY IT WILL VALIDATE THE FILE BEFORE FLASHING.
ROM2SD/DATA2SD USERS PLEASE READ!
ROM2SD only works if you have ZOMBI-POP, ZOMBi-X, CROMBi-kk, CROMi-X or miniC flashed on internal with a THATv10+ kernel. Just choose ROM2SD in the installer of ZOMBi-POP to flash it to ROM2SD and the installer will do the rest.
- Install ZOMBi-POP and choose ROM2SD or DATA2SD install
The ROM2SD1.zip below is only needed if you need to switch your recovery to between normal and rom2sd mode. For Example you want to backup or restore a rom2sd installation. Flash once to go rom2sd and flash again to go back to normal. A reboot always puts you back to normal. Thanks to _that!

2. Boot to recovery – Either choose Boot to Recovery from the Power Menu if available on your current ROM or from the tablet power off hold the [volume down] button and press the [power] button. Once your see the flashing RCK icon, press [volume up] to select. If another icon is flashing use [volume down] to move between icons.

5. Choose the ZOMBi-POP zip file and follow the on screen prompts to customize your installation.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
Using GParted to setup a micro SD for ROM2SD or DATA2SD!
First and foremost - DO NOT USE MINI TOOL!
Formatting a micro sd card for ROM2SD
Note for DATA2SD just do one partition in stead of 2
We will be using a GParted Live boot USB and a FAST good quality micro sd like a Sandisk or Samsung Class 10 - SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 card with read speed of at least 20MB/S. If you have a cheap chinese eBay card don't bother - they are not good enough.
You will also need a USB Stick with at least 1GB size. Note this process formats the USB disk so don't keep any important files on it. It will also wipe your micro sd so make sure you are prepared.
1. Go to the link below and download the GParted Live CD/USB/HD/PXE Bootable Image and save it somewhere you remember
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php
2. Download Linux Live USB Creator and install it
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
3. Fire up LiLi USB Creator:
a. Choose your USB key - I,e, the drive letter for your USB (not sd card)
b. Choose your GParted iso image for the source
c. Choose the check box to Format Key in FAT32 and hide files
d. Click the lightning bolt to create
4. Now you have a bootable disk you need to boot from it. You may need to alter you BIOS Settings on your PC to boot from a USB Stick but mine did it without messing.
5. Insert your micro SD card into an SD Card adapter and insert into PC
6. Boot into GParted
7. Choose Gparted Live <Enter>
8. Don’t touch keymap <Enter>
9. Languge <Enter>
10. Start Gparted Automatically
11. Change device to your micro sd )it will default to you hard disk - hda– mine is /dev/sdc
12. Delete all existing partitions
For a 64GB card: (resize as needed but /system doesn't need to be bigger than 1GB)
13. Create new, always select primary: do this 3 times.
14. FAT 32 : Size 16GB – this will be /dev/sdc1 in gparted and will be your sdcard for storage in Android
15. EXT4 : Size 42GB – this will be /dev/sdc2 in gparted and will be your /data partition in Android
16. EXT4 : Size 1GB – this will be /dev/sdc3 in gparted and will be your /system partition in Android (not needed for data2sd)
Apply, wait until it finishes and then reboot. Remember to remove the usb stick
*Images stolen from elsewhere as I couldn’t get it to save mine
Now you are ready to install ROM2SD. Note if you want to use DATA2SD then only do 2 partitions 1x FAT32 and 1x larger EXT4
Then reinstall ZOMBi-POP but this time choose the ROM2SD / DATA2SD option
Reserved
All,
The ROM is still in BETA and by flashing it you are helping the BETA Testing process
It may still have some bugs, spontaneously reboot, drain the battery faster or heat up a bit. The aim is to make it better and fix them.
If you find a bug and want to report it here please post a logcat (after it occurred) with a description of what you were doing at the time and the rough timing in the logcat to look at (these things get huge!).
You can also post a dmesg which is the kernel boot logs and can indicate issues with data corruption or hardware.
If you get a reboot then please post a last_kmsg from the /proc folder.
How to get a logcat
How to get useful logs

flash the ROM
flash gapps
When updating ROM with the new build (dirty flash) gapps doesn't need to be reflashed (if they support addon.d).
Layers
Themes are supported with Substratum OMS theme engine.
This is not a CM Theme Engine so you can just use Substratum OMS themes.

Short message for now: I updated to the new Rom and all is fine
EDIT: I used opengapps this time (64 bit of course) and did not step up to using pixel launcher (as it looked worse on the N9 than the built in pixel-like launcher).
Also flashed in supersu and Xperia keyboard.
So these files were clean flashed:
nAOSProm-7.1.1-flounder-b02.zip
open_gapps-arm64-7.1-pico-20170219.zip
SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip
Xperia_Keyboard_7.3.A.0.54_ARM64_ONLY.zip
That went fast&fine as did the first boot.
So thanks again for this rom :good:

Flashed B03
Just clean flashed B03 and all runs like a charm. I am quite happy with this smooth ROM
Does it work for the LTE version? Mine is having 7.1.1 stock but the performance is very sluggish and even when I am not doing anything, only 30% to 35% Rams are free. Even the less demanding games crash every time after 30 mins of game play due to high memory usage. So planning to go for a Custom one.
Flashed another N9 with this ROM. I decided to flash along the new 64bit Delta Gapps this time, at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-minimal-gapps-gapps-lp-20150107-1-t2997368
That worked fine as I reported there. So looking forward to maybe new April goodies
nAOSP 7.1.2-b01 released
android-7.1.2_r5 (April security fixes)
In 7.1.2 google changed IWifiManager interface, which causes Setup Wizard force closes, if you are running clean flash.
There are few workarounds for this:
- After flashing nAOSP + gapps delete /system/priv-app/SetupWizard in twrp, then add Google account manually
- Flash only nAOSP, boot the system once, reboot to recovery, boot again, add Google account manually
(there are few others you can search xda forum for them)
