Hi,
The Samsung Continuum is rooted courtesy Z4Root One Click App. You can either get it from official thread here or follow the instructions posted here. don't know if there are any custom ROM for continuum yet.

Or you can just download it from the Market, and run it...
Z4root is down from the market. I don't really about other countries, but here keyword search is showing nothing as Z4root. Can you please check if Z4root is available in your market?

I stand corrected... I just downloaded it from the market about a week ago so I assumed it was still there. It is gone now.
No word on any developers working on ROMs for this thing yet...
z4root
I temporarily rooted no problem with z4root, removed tons of Verizon bloatware.

Be careful with that. OTAs may look for all of their bloatware before installing... It could make upgrading to Froyo more difficult.
Can anyone confirm whether the Fascinate Clockwork Recovery works on the Continuum. I read on another forum that it does, but would like some better confirmation before I try it out....
Of course, that doesn't really matter until we get some ROMs going..... Please, devs, we need you....
Continuum ROM
I have the source code from Samsung and would work on a ROM if someone could get me started. This is my first Android and I rooted with Z4. I deleted a bunch of Verizon crap and now am having outgoing text messages not getting to some recipients. I would love a stock ROM.
I came from using the Nexus One. XDA forums for that device were loaded with devs and goodies. I miss all the action and running Cyanogen ROMs.
What ROMs are best for the other Galaxy S devices? I'd offer a small donation to get the ball rolling.

I for some reason cannot root using z4root. Have downloaded it from here and also the Market on the Samsung Continuum and it does not seem to work. After installing and loading, touching permanent/temporary root seems to have no effect. The 'loading' graphic sits there and the app hangs at running the exploit. Sometimes it even locks the phone to the point where I can only get it to respond by pulling out the battery.
USB debugging is enabled on the device running: 2.1-update1
Build number SCH-I400.DJ20
If you need any other info (or if I am missing something) let me know.
It took me a few tries, but I was successful with the temporary root.

Don't know if it actually did anything, but it finally worked for me when I turned the screen off. Don't see how that would affect it, but that's how it worked for me.

texting issue
HI All,
I posted above about having texting issues after removing bloatware. It turns out that it was the way Google was adding a +1 to my phone numbers. Back to customizing. Z4 worked for me.

Seems to be par for the course with z4. Something randomly done or happens with the phone and by some sort of divine intervention or coincidence it's then rooted.
I also had issues with z4, hardlocked the phone the first time. Second time it FC'd. Third time I was waiting and got a text message. As I was replying to it, z4 popped back up and said rebooting phone. It rebooted and it was rooted.
I actually got it to work after trying and trying and trying. Now to find a Google Quick Search widget that isn't bugged and doesn't stick to the top of the homescreen after clicking on/touching/using it.
Finally got my phone rooted with Z4. Now can't connect to my computer. Gives me the option on whether to use a media card or USB storage. Chose both options (not at same time) and neither worked. Am tempted to remove root as it connected prior to rooting. Has anyone connected after rooting? Any help?
Thanks
Not sure what your issue is. I have my phone rooted and have no problem mounting my phone to my PC.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Is USB debugging checked or unchecked under settings, apps? Probably missing something stupid..
I have my G2 perm rooted but it seems like every time I start an app or service that requires root the pop-up comes up various times until it finally gains root permission. I hit "allow" every time it pops up but it asks a few times before it works. Is this normal? It gets annoying for trying to do a backup with Titanium since it'll ask me to allow for every app it tries to backup and sometimes asks various times for a single app. Thanks for any help.

Try to open your superuser app and tap the setting, at the last line, tap it to let it check the su version and update it.
I did these to fix the problem which same as yours.
Hope it helpful.

OK, so just to start, I'm still new to rooting, adb, roms, and all this fun stuff. I rooted my Nexus 5 six months ago because I got bored and just finished rooting my Ouya and putting cm11 on it. I'm not the greatest at this, but I can follow a good tutorial. Which is why, up until now, I've had little to no problems.
My wife has an LG G2 with my super awesome service provider, Sprint... Sprint wants to charge me $150 for this repair. I know it does not cost that much, and my wife does not want to give up her phone.
I'm sure you are all familiar with this problem. There is a section of the screen, about the shape and size of a search box in the top half of the screen, that since the last update, does not function properly, and *knock on* no longer works. I read all over the web, to access the hidden menu by dialing 5689#*980# . Which I did. But there is no option for touch screen test, or update touch screen firmware. LG is no help. Sprint is no help. XDA is my only option. Don't fail me guys and gals.
Oh, and my wife WILL NOT let me root her phone. She has a fully stock LG G2 for Sprint, and after this will hopefully have a fully functional LG G2.
Without root, you won't be able to replace the hidden menu with the Verizon one that does have the proper section to fix that. You may be able to root try the fix and unroot. This way she doesn't know.

Can you believe, after reading this, I thought hmmm, run it by her. I'd have to unlock the bootloader wouldn't I? And unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone. Can't really hide a brand new used phone from her.
I'd have used towelroot while the exploit was still available but alas, the problem wasn't here while towelroot was an option, but with a patch, came a hole.

OK, so I am a fool. I looked up the root method. I never bother before because she had always said "NO!" No matter how much I begged. So using Stump Root, does that reset the device? I feel like a real butt right now.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Lol, she caved. I used stump, and hey, nothing deleted. So her phone is now rooted (surprisingly easy to get her to cave), I download the hiddenmenu.APK and moved it over to the app folder and ran the required adb command in terminal emulator. It did its duty. Nothing changed. When I access the hidden menu, its still the sprint one. Help?

I just redid my phone on zve. Pulled system info, will grab a hidden menu and check it out. Will get back with you.

Good news, got it to work. Here is what you need to do.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001613264
Here is the hidden menu I used.
From play store grab root browser.
Use it to go to system/app directory. Find hiddenmenu.apk and the .Odex file.
Rename both of the files by putting a 1 at the end. This way you don't lose the original. Now paste the file which is above in the same directory.
Fix permissions to read, write, read, read.
It will look like this.
Rw
R
R
Save.
Reboot, system upgrading.
Phone, dial 5689#*980#
Go to hw device test
Touch test
Bottom of menu will be touch firmware upgrade

Hi folks, used this forum many times for help but this is my first post.
Firstly I just want to say sorry if there's already a thread on this and if so, rather than having to repeat yourselves feel free to point me to it.
Secondly I've searched and searched for many methods to root this damn phone of mine (samsung google galaxy nexus gt-i9250). I've tried to do it using solely the phone and also computers… my problem is on a computer I can't get the drivers installed, tried everything but still no luck.
Anyways I tried to log on to my banking app and it refused as it says my phone is rooted so I tried a few checker apps and they also said im rooted.
But I tried another checker and it tells me I'm not rooted. Anyways after this I turned my phone off and on to find I had a supersu icon.. So I clicked onto it to see what was going on and it tells me the binary needs to be updated.
So I try and then it fails and I'm back to square one.
So again sorry if this is a repeated post and also if its in the wrong section… but if anyone has any idea on how to help me please leave a comment as I'm stumped and have no more ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Did you installed superuser or supersu..?? After rooting.
Its superSU… blue android with the red cape

Try to update the binaries from its settings..
Still nothing... Thanks for your input, I'll keep trying and if I get any further I'll post back.
Think I might try wiping phone and starting over see if that works.

I know this is stupid, but I've been trying to search for the answer for a week and I haven't come up with anything.
I have a T-Mo rooted G4. As per the instructions, I disabled the OTA updates and don't use wi-fi. I have an alert on my phone that says there is a system update available. Can I download it to get rid of the alert, or do I have to just ignore it?
Thanks for putting up with the noob question lol.
Just ignore it if you dont want to update your s/w and loose root privileges.
