Yes, I just got back a refurbished M8. They give you 3 options:
1) For $30 and a credit card hold of $600, they send you the refurbished one overnight and you have 10 days to send your cracked one in. If there's any other items wrong or you messed up your warranty they auto deduct your card. i went with this option as it was previously my wife's and i wanted a clean start.
2) send your phone in and wait about 10 days for them to fix yours. no costs.
3) i think the other option was expediting the shipping on the repair of your own phone. that was like $25
The phone I got back looks absolutely brand new and no issues so far.

Also, HTC was awesome customer service wise. An actual person answered the phone right away, joked about the cracked screen, and had the replacement phone on its way in under 5 mins. Def not what i'm used to with corporations.

Thanks guys, thats exactly the info i needed, my dad broke his phone so we needed to know the process, im happy to hear the customer service is great!

[Q] Past 30-days, but should I ask for a replacement?

So I notice the screen lifting up on the bottom left corner of my phone, and I can feel it moving around when I push on the corners. It's starting to concern me, and well... it shouldn't be happening; I don't appreciate paying for something that seems like it's going to fall apart.
Apparently this is a common problem... which is weird since people give Samsung so much crap.
Anyhoo... I'm past my 30 days (they ran out at the beginning of the month, new Sprint customer as of early Feb '11) what would happen if I took this back to Sprint's store? Would they just give me a new one, or make me go through HTC?
Hardware version 0003.
They should give you a refurb, as you still have warranty for 1 year for hardware defect just like that. Take it to the store-unrooted and all rooting files removed, and you should be fine.

Basically the only thing I'm concerned about is having to send my phone into HTC and having to wait to get one sent to me. You think they'll just switch it out in the store?

Yea, they should just switch it out in the store. or worst case if they don't have one in stock, they'd order a refurb and you'd have it in a day or two, but you won't need to send it to HTC.
Maybe I'll just deal with it.
The problem I have is... I wouldn't accept a refurbished phone. It's just a pet peeve... I paid for a new phone, I want a new phone. I don't like the idea of buying a new one that's defective somehow and getting given a refurbished phone as a replacement. It might not bother some, but I'm just anal like that.
Then again... I haven't talked to Sprint about it, so maybe they would give me a new one.
EDIT: I'll un-root and flash back to stock tomorrow then take it to Sprint on Monday and see what happens.

I've always had better luck with calling into sprint over the phone then dealing with the sprint store people
I got a HTC hero that was a referb, worried that the phone was trash I kept waiting for it to go bad. It never did, in fact I sold it on eBay some time later. Refurbs are hit and miss, you will know within a few days if its a keeper. If not raise hell and get another one!

USB broken please help unroot.

I have Uevolved rom on my phone and the usb wont charge and wont connect to computer. I took it to sprint and they ordered new phone and I cant get the phone to update the PC36IMG. I did the unrevoked forever and it shows Supersonic ship S-on. But when I put the pc36img on the root of my sd and restart in bootloader it acts like it found the pc36img fil and does nothing. I think I updated the pc36img earlier so now im stuck.

Ive been researching this for hours and it looks like I have to root phone again and then the unrevoked and the pc36img thing. The problem is, how can i root when i cant connect to my computer? Im screwed. PLEASE help if anyone knows a wasy around this. Thank you
Look if u you have TEP call the phone in stolen or lost. Sell it for 150 as a blacklisted evo 4g and use 100 to pay the deductable. That's what I did when my screen broke. Sprint did not want to fix the screen plus the other issues I had with the phone. So I reported it stolen and sold it for 150. Made 50 and got a evo brand new in the box the next day!!!!
Sent from my Evo using XDA App
In the kingrunny ROM by evokings platy_puss got a fix for usb to pc. Try this man hope this works for you.
Honestly, If its your USB that is broke, I highly doubt they will even look at anything especially since they already seen the phone and ordered you a new one. Rooting wont break your usb port. Plus like I said they already looked at it and deemed it broken. You really should be in the clear man. If they were gonna notice it they would have already.

His USB is physically broke.
Have you tried removing your microSD card, loading up the proper files on a PC, & putting it back in and unroot? You may have to buy microSD to SD and a SD to USB adapter to plug it into your PC.
Oo well in that case your good if you got a new one you shouldn't stress man, you'll have a spare EVO LOL ill give you $100 for it Haha
Thanks for the responses. Ill take mine in and see what happens.
Been into Sprint a few times lately...they told my buddy they wouldn't look at his Evo if it was modded, but as soon as one of the other techs asked what rom he was running, CM7, and the tech said yeah Im running that and its stable, the guy was like ok, Ill look at it but I have to put it back to stock. In short, get someone working there to mention they are running the same rom and I really think youll be in the clear.
I sent mine into CPR (Cell Phone Repair) not sure what your paying for replacement....but they did it for like 50 bucks...and had my phone next day..same root and rom and all. Where do ya live?
saves you the hassle of re-rooting and all that stuff reflashing rom....just pick up where you left off
If you want to unroot love, I advise you to get a laptop and find a cheap sdcard adapter somewhere. It could be from a camera or something.
Put the files on the sdcard using the adapter and then put it back in your phone, unroot and have a happy day lol.
Edit:: Noticed someone already mentioned this but anywho, hope you fix your issue

Got a link for this...curious...also searched, no dice for me.
thx.
that's a bummer! u should hope that your screen doesn't get "accidentally" cracked or something... if u got tep, the cost is at most $35 (sometimes free) and generally same or next day swap out for an evo refurb... and with a cracked screen, *there is no check for s-on*. just make sure that it doesn't INTENTIONALLY get a cracked screen. that would be like lying and stealing at the same time.
Hmm i had TEP my screen was broken. They said it was over a inch ect and sent me to asurion. Which made me sell the phone for 150 with a cracked screen then call it in stolen . Got them to ship it out n had it in less than 12 hours.

[Q] Bricked My Phone, Anyone have some advice.. ?

So i bricked my phone. I know that it can not be fixed anymore but luckily i have insurance. I'm going to a sprint repair shop to get my phone replaced but what exactly should i tell them what happened ? If i tell them i was running a custom rom i know most likely they will not replace it.

Tell them you got an OTA update and when it rebooted it would no longer power on or it started getting really hot so you turned it off and then it would no longer go on.
---------- Post added at 06:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:55 PM ----------
Do NOT tell them you rooted or flashed custom roms or they will laugh and kick you out of the store.
I've seen a post saying that Sprint and Insurance company are the separate entities. So, if the phone is covered by insurance, it doesn't matter how you break the phone.
If I were you, I would call Sprint instead of visiting Sprint to claim the new phone covered by insurance. You can just say whatever you want, something like it's not turned on suddenly. If you phone is really bricked then there would be no way to check your phone from Sprint side....
Good Luck!
Another thought! - the easiest way would be - just throwing away or break your phone. That's it. Just report them you lost your phone!

how many people received phone from shopblt?

I want to know how many people placed order from shopblt?

I never shopped at ShopBLT, but the fact that you cant return/exchange a device EVEN IF IT IS DOA, just sucks.

I received it last week on Friday.
Per their policy, you should be able to exchange or return if its manufacturer defect. I think their whole idea is to make sure you know what you are ordering.
They seem to be reliable but I can not make sure, unless someone has an experience with them.

Just received it today messing around with it as we speak having trouble with data on tmobile
So much for DOA return
I ordered my ZL c6506 Tuesday am with $70 worth of overnight delivery.....Shipped super quick and got it the very next day all the way from Cali to Vermont. I needed a phone replacement before vacation and the $70 was worth it for me. I opened the phone, turned it on and it began a boot loop immediately. After about 3 hours worth of chat with Sony I know have to send it away to them for a warranty claim. The phone never worked, not for a minute. Sony helped me repair the software with PC Companion. When the processed finished the phone turned on and fifteen minutes later turned back off again!! It was DOA!!
As for ShopBLT.com. I explained my entire situation, needing the phone for vacation blah blah. I received an almost immediate reply with Sony's support phone number and not an apology, rather a stern explanation complete with links and screenshots where I agreed I was not under any circumstances allowed to send the phone back to them. I have no cell phone, I leave tomorrow and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Buyer beware. I'm sure Sony will make this right, but it's gonna take a month round trip...If you don't have a month to waste don't buy from ShopBLT.com.

The latest firmware from Sony tells you that if you don't insert a SIM, it will automatically shut the phone off after 15 minutes, just FYI in case this is what happened. I got my 6506 from ShopBLT yesterday, and I almost always tinker with my phones for a bit before inserting my SIM. The ZL warns you that it will automatically shut off after 15 minutes to preserve the battery (it doesn't know if the phone is still in the box and was accidentally booted up). I'm assuming when you say DOA, you mean that after it shut off on its own, it wouldn't turn back on.
Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I never expected ShopBLT to take this phone back should it have a problem. Their site clearly says that there are no returns or exchanges, even in the event that the phone is DOA. I fully expected to deal with Sony if there was a problem. Others' mileage may vary, but I just wouldn't expect it as it's contrary to the terms stated on ShopBLTs site when you order the phone.
So in response to the original post: I got my black ZL from ShopBLT yesterday, and aside from not reading enough about the notification LED bug and now needing to do a reset and start over, it's working beautifully. I'm using it alongside my SGS3, trying to decide which phone to keep. So far, I absolutely love the ZL.

I used the ZL side by side with the Nexus 4 for 2 days... ZL became the official phone of me this morning!
As far as ShopBLT goes, I plan to buy more stuff there... Xperia Z tablet
Got mine yesterday from them. So far just doing some minor testing before I put my SIM in it.
I find it interesting that there are a few people I've seen jump from the N4 to ZL.
Why? Other than being a Google phone, the Nexus 4 is inferior to the ZL. I have a lot of Sony products. Only reason I did not have a Sony phone it is because they either had no TMo bands or were inferior. Since it seems rhat Sony found there ways sijce Stringer retired and Hirai took over, I see more Sony ohones in my future....
If they progress with their phones the way they did eith their cameras, Samsung will have a huge headache...
Skickat från min ZL
Just received mine today. Other than the strange security check (pic of my credit card), everything went pretty smooth. Will definitely do business again with them. BTW, I noticed the price of the ZL went up a couple bucks today.

Did you replace the glass yourself? A connection might be loose, I know the repair-ability of this phone is very difficult and apparently damage during repair is high risk.

I would contact HTC again telling them that the repair (or replacement) has a non working feature. From my understanding D2W comes from the kernel and HTC wouldn't change that so it has to be hardware.
Hey all M9 users!
HTC has a long history with G-sensor (accelerometer) issues. The long and short of it is. The M9 is no better. I have had my VZW m9 for 6 weeks and while using it, the g-sensor just stopped working.
I reset it, toggled it on off, reboot normally, re-calibrated it ..and no go, then i bootloader rebooted it and no go, then I factory reset it from bootloader, waited 20 minutes to leak all residual voltage from sensor chip. ..no go.
So I called HTC, they took all my info and said a super would call back. L2 tech support says to connect to PC with HTC sync tool from Verizon . wait till phone is stable on SYnc and go to repair option . I pressed repair and it gave me "no software found" , Probably a sneaky way for HTC/Verizon to overwrite any aftermarket roms with stock...Still you guessed it...no go..
Short story is , warranty replacement is 7-10 days to them for "Repair" with them charging you for fix, plus shipping both ways or sending you a 90 day warranty refurb At THEIR DISCRETION.. no choice to you.
or, and this is insulting..Advanced replacement , with a $500 hold on a credit card they will ship you a refurb and hold card charge till they get defective one back and they will deduct from your card hold any repairs they deem needed as "caused by abuse" for the defective phone AT THEIR DISCRETION, to resell it as a refurb for the next guy.
UH OH policy is only for damaged phones in their narrow window of qualification for replacement. Not all damage qualifies. Read the fine print! Warranty issues do not qualify for UH OH policy.

Couple things....
Of all the HTC phones I have had I never had this issue once.
The hold for advanced replacement is now only 299.
They provide free shipping to and from. Even free overnight for the advanced replacement.
With all due respect, the $500 price was quoted to me by two different HTC employees just today, 6/3/2015.
I can only assume you have not tried to get warranty for an M9 this week as I have. The 299 figure must be for a different model.
I am speaking specifically of the HTC one M9. I hesitate to contradict you but they do not provide free shipping for warranty repair on the M9, They asked me to ship mine back at my expense for assessment on warranty with a 7-10 day turnaround for "repair". try to do without your only phone for 10 days..
Please google " HTC g-sensor problems". you will be surprised at the hits, including on this XDA website.

Warranty service and Uh Oh replacement are two different programs.
I was exploring warranty repair/replace for a factory defect. They are very un-accomodating for warranty assistance outside of the above stated policy.
UhOh replacement is a special one shot only full replacement program for the M9.
I could drop my phone in a sink full of water and get a new one, but i would like to save that benefit for when i accidentally drop my phone in a sink of water.

What they do not advertise is the Warranty (not UHOH) policy that if, in their opinion without notice to you or your permission, the phone was abused dropped or otherwise not a factory defect they will deduct repair costs from card hold. or ask for the costs to repair your phone before shipping it back.

They did not repair it, they gave you a returned or refurb with broken G-Sensor chip. Read the tear down report on the M9. almost impossible To get to the glass without serious effort and high probability of damage..

IMEI is not hardware locked, software and vendors change them all the time.. Google IMEI number change..

It's not the hardware problem. Motion launch seem has issues with Android 5 and 6.
My M8 and Butterfly 2 has this problem when I upgrade to Android 5 and 6. It used to work flawlessly with Android 4.4.
I focus on Orientation Sensor, it may be the root cause. I'm looking for the way to patch it
