[Guide] To flash .pac stock rom on your device - General PAC Discussion

Flashing a *.pac rom using factory download tool
HI, Guys today I will to flash a *.pac stock or custom rom using upgarde download tool or factory download tool
I am not responsible for any bricked device:good:
1. Download your phones stock rom or custom rom (it has to be in .pac format .)
2. Download factory download tool and drivers for your device
3. After that load the pac file in factory download tool and click on stsrt download in factory download tool.
4. stretch out the battery of ur mobile and insert it again (but do not switch the device)
5. press volume up and volume down buttons together (keep pressed)
6. plug the usb cable of us phone with pc and device
7. Flashing would be started.
(Do not release the vol + and vol- buttons untill factory download tool say"s PASSED )
Thats it u flashed ur device with stock rom :highfive:

Excuse me for what may seem like a rude comment, but what exactly is this?
You don't mention what device(s) you are talking about and ive never heard of something with a ".pac" file.
Secondly this sounds like a guide to restore a factory ROM and not anything to do with pac rom.
if you could explain thanks

would it work for mmx a26??

This is unrelated to the PAC ROM and could be both confusing and problematic for users

[Q] Installing custom ROM on Arc S

Hi guys, new here. My phone's warranty has expired and I have already rooted and unlocked the bootloader. Right now I'm on 4.0.2.A.0.62 and I want to install a custom ROM (Racing Bean). From what I know, I have to install Fusion kernel to use the ROM, I have already downloaded V3.1 Racing Bean, Arc Fusion (Version 5) and the Fusion Addons, all in RAR format. But now I'm stuck, I do not know what to do next, care to help me? I have installed Flashtool too. I need a step by step guide cause this is my only phone so if anything goes wrong (hopefully not since I root my phone myself through guides on the web), I got to fork out a sum of money to get a new phone... Also, do I need to backup 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware so that I can use it back if there's problems with the custom ROM? X-Parts is also installed on my android. Sorry if this question has already been posted before, I know that different ROM requires different kernel and have different procedures, so I don't want to take the risk. Thanks in advance!!!
Download a stock ftf file which you can use in case anything goes wrong. Don't worry the chances of a hard brick by flashing a kernel or ROM is extremely low.
You've downloaded fusion right? Extract the boot.IMG and place it in a folder of your choice.
Backup everything on your internal memory that you need on your phone and copy over your ROM zip file to the root of your SD card. SD cards are not affected.
Switch the phone off and press the menu button while connecting it to the USB (still off). There should be a blue LED.
Press the lightning icon on flash tool, select fastboot mode, navigate to the location of your boot.IMG and press ok. The flash will start automatically and it takes about 1-3 seconds.
Disconnect your phone and boot it. After you press power button repeatedly press volume down to get into recovery mode.
In recovery, do a system wipe and a cache wipe (volume buttons to navigate, home to select). Then install your ROM from SD card. For some ROMs you'll need gapps too but racing bean has it already.
The install will take some time. After it has finished reboot the phone. If successful (for your case) you'll see the fusion logo and the "X" (nexus) boot animation. First boot takes a while so be patient.
Leave the ROM for a few hours to settle.
Btw there's loads of guides on this and everything else on xda. Next time just use the search button.

i think u should first upgrade to ics first & then followthe same steps as given
1.Download Racing Bean and a 4.1.2 kernel (recommended Fusion)
2.Place the Wi-Fi modules and Racing Bean on your SDcard
3.Flash your chosen kernel via Flashtool, then boot your phone to recovery
4.Wipe data and format /system
5.Flash Racing Bean and Wi-Fi modules
6. Reboot and have Mess around
7. Flash either usb fix OR On screen buttons addon.

[Q] Before flashing.

This is my first post:silly:
I would like to ask do I need a stock 4.1 android before flashing CM11. No website says such a thing but the original thread says yes.
Also how to install CWM on Xperia m because I am lost...:silly:
Please help and thanks if anyone does
Oh and also how to get back to stock 4.1.2 then
Not necessary, but if something goes wrong while flashing custom ROM, you will need that stock ROM to flash.
It is always good to have stock firmware..
for the CWM, first of all you need to unlock your bootloader.(i assume that you unlocked it.) and download cwm file and extract it on desktop then go to flashtool and conect your mobile in fastboot (use volume + key) blue light will appear.
click on flash button- fastboot- flash kernel.after finish start your mobile and start pressing volume + key..you will boot in recovery mode.
Thanks if helped

[Q] Please get me Stock Bootloader from KDZ

Hi everyone.
I'm so frustrated for a week to get get back to Stock Recovery Menu from CWM Recovery. The problem is, I want to restore Stock Firmware for my LG Optimus G E973 but it won't work unless I role back to Stock Recovery Menu. I've been searching around for it but no luck. Now the only hope is to get Stock Recovery image and push it into the phone and I think the only ways to get it is, someone backup Stock Recovery from the same phone model or extract it from original Stock ROM image. I failed to do so. For the convenience to download the KDZ file, I uploaded it to Google Drive with the link below. I bag you, PLEASE, help me get Stock Recovery image from the .kdz file I uploaded for you. I will wait for your response every seconds and thank in advance.

Why not just flash back the official kdz? The download mode works regardless you have stock recovery or CWM.
I did. it won't work. I used KDZ_FW_UPD_EN with .kdz file while putting my phone in Download Mode. Then the program restart the phone to proceed the installation but CWM recovery appear instead of stock recovery and nothing happen.

[GUIDE] Flashing Original Firmwares >1GB / Unbrick Procedure (UPDATED 07/12/13)
this is all you need, back your data up then firstly you need " hard reset procedure " then flash kdz i used this too many time but dont forget it will erase all your data (sd card too)

You need to flash official full KDZ upgrade. What phone you have originally? F180 or E975? or some other? Wipe + Factory reset in recovery before putting into download mode. (The major nuisance with this set is all you can do is power button thingi and no battery pullouts.

I finally found the solution accidentally, Just manually set the phone in Download Mode for 2nd time when it stuck in fastboot mode. Bingo!

LG G3 One Click Unroot?

When can somebody figure this out?
I think that you can unroot via supersu on the settings. Theres an option where it says full unroot idk if it works cuz i havent try it .
Dude, this is easy. First find and flash a stock unrooted ROM then once flashed follow button guide for reset factory defaults G3 (it's like hold vol down and power to boot, then when you see boot logo release power and hold it again until you get on screen prompt about wiping all user data (now release both keys) use vol keys to select yes accept warning and it will actually drop to TWRP and not run any cleaning script). Then just flash stock recovery should have a recovery flash zip for stock recovery somewhere on XDA or use Google.
Or the more official way (guide (follow the TOT guide listed last in OP)):http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/firmware-t-mobile-lg-g3-t2818667
It just walks you through downloading official firmware and utility needed to flash it. If using same computer you used to root phone then can skip the driver installs and just install the utility, follow connect your phone to computer steps. Once utility sees the phone select firmware you downloaded and flash. This method reports to pass inspection by carrier so they won't know you rooted it.
If all you want is stock ROM imho leave custom recovery alone so you can go back to a custom ROM anytime and just flash the stock debloated image in Android development section. If you don't like super user install supersu (if it's not already) open app go to settings tap full removal. This will remove super user binary and you won't have the ability to use super user unless you flash it back in recovery.

Bricked phone

Hello,
A friend of mine tried to change from stock ROM to Eragon a few days ago.
He wiped all data and then tried to flash the ROM from Android system recovery but it wont install the ROM.
So now the phone just loads the boot screen when its started but nothing happens after that. I can still get access to Android system recovery.
From what I understand, he should have installed CWM before doing anything really but what's done is done.
Is there a way to save his phone?
Hi,
no worries, it's safe! Just reflash Stock ROM, afterwards CWM and install Eragon.

put that on sd card, then I tried to "apply update from sdcard"
then I get "opening update package..." then "installation aborted"
is there something im doing wrong?
You need to use the sp flash tool, there is a guide somewhere so either try the BBS.elephone forum or Google it you will need to install mtk drivers on your PC/laptop...

Sp flash tool wont start to download.
Is there a certain setting that needs to be on phone, when you just connect it android preloader shows up in drivers quickly and then disappear. But if you hold down Vol - you get "CDC Serial"
But when in fastboot you get android "ADB Interface."
From what I have understood you want to stay in Preloader.
How do I do that?
Have read about sp flash tool, but there seems to be problems with the downloading proces and the mtk drivers.
Any idéas?
Click download first and then connect the phone while it's off. The guide on elephone's site is weirdly explained.

4. when its done start phone, takes around 5minutes to boot up.
5. download cwm recovery
6. use Spflashtool again and flash cwm.
7. put eragon 2.5 on your SDcard
8. Restart phone in recovery, turn off, powerbutton + vol up.
9. wipe data / factory and cash, and delvik cash.
10. install eragon 2.5
DONE
Thanks for all your suggestions on how to fix it.
I will try them as soon as possible.
To be clear:
You can only install STOCK ROM with SP Flash Tool
You can only install ERAGON ROM via Recovery
To install ERAGON you need to be ROOT'ed and have working CUSTOM Recovery...
Followed Peinnes list of what to do and it worked!
Thanks alot for the help!
