Nd8 msl? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi guys sorry to make a thread for this but how do you get the msl off a sprint gs3 running Nd8 4.4.2? I've tried searching it but can only find methods for up to 4.3. Can someone give me a link or point me in the right direction please!?

I used MSL Utility

You can't get your MSL without being rooted... Unless you get it from Sprint, lol good luck with that.

When I use the msl utility it just gives a blank response and I can't seem to pull it via getprop ril.MSL either

If you flash my ROM it has MSL check removed... Last thing I can think of. It just completely skips over it. Or I can just give you the hiddenmenu.apk and you can push it to system/app.

Well my goal is to flash the phone to page plus would flashing your rom allow accessing the phone via dfs?

Yes, you can flash any ROM (don't know if they'll work with the ND8 Modem for sure though), and you are correct about Odin.

Can't we swtich T989 to T989D (Stock) ROM?

Hello
I use T989 in south korea.
And I heard that Telus T989D get ICS upgrade and get ICS tar.md5 burn to my T989 via Odin 1.85.
But always fail(stuck) when amss.bin download.
T989 GingerBread / T989D GingerBread / T989D ICS all STOCK ROM
(Refer the include picture)

So I change to Telus GingerBread STOCK tar.md5 to my T989 and it was failed too when amss.bin.
Finally i think that T989 device can't swap to T989D stock rom.
Can't we change STOCK ROM Swap t989 and t989d?
Just only system partition compatible?
I can try ODIN in "re-partition" function, but i CAN'T expect successful.

Awesome to hear. Let me know if you are having an issue with any compass apps. For some reason some people (myself included) can't get the compass to register correct readings. Thanks.
Going crazy here...
I've used CWM to flash both:
'Telus_SGH-T989DTLLE4_Stock_Rooted.zip' and 'SGH-...LLE4_radio.zip'
However, when I launch KIES I still get
"Your device does not support software upgrading via KIES" message.
Any ideas?
Flashing the ROM and radio provides you with the upgrade. There is no need to upgrade via Kies if you used this method.
Finally worked... kept freezing, I toggled signature to Enabled and it finally booted
Thanks!

I have no idea why it's not working for you. It's been tested and is confirmed by others that it works.
Try extracting it from the zip and adding it manually to your framework folder.

I have to create a version that will work with Stainless. The one that's present works only for the T-Mobile version.
I'll be looking into it and trying to get it going for Stainless international MJ7 as well as an odexed version for both.

Can't find ANY wifi networks anymore?

Its been about 2 weeks now and I am still having this problem. One day while I was a school I felt my phone really hot in my pocket. and it was off. When I truened it back on the battery was only 20% and then I could not find any wifi networks. It used to work for about 30 seconds when I restarted the phone, but now it does not even do that. Any help?! This is pretty bad.

A modem is what controls your phones communication with the internet and voice and data... Pretty important. Go to Settings/About Phone and flash the one that matches the last four characters in your Baseband (like GB27 for example)-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764210

Flashing a custom ROM or doing a factory reset won't mess with your cricket flash, although you will have to follow directions in this thread to get back working MMS and 3g (if you flash an AOSP or CM-based ROM... 3g should work out of the box on stock-based).

I am on a stock unrooted ND8 4.4.2 rom. Tried to update the odex version from my external sd card and it failed. I checked the MD5 and it is correct but the error message is that the "footer Is wrong" and "signature verification failed". What am I doing wrong or does the native hotspot odex file not work with a stock unrooted ND8?

You have to be rooted and using a custom recovery like Philz to flash the hotspot mod or anything else but an official update.zip made to work with the stock recovery.
Use Odin on a PC to flash the latest Philz recovery tar.
Technically, you could flash it with just a custom recovery without being rooted, but someone else would have to answer (or you'd have to test) if it would actually work without being rooted.
You should proudly ask this in the mod's thread.

I've been using PDANET+ FoxFi without a problem. 4.4.2 Stock Rooted.
Which adjustments in the configure option need to be made? I installed the app and am rooted, the app loads and says a network is set up, but doesn't show up anywhere. Thanks

Just grab the Philz recovery that ends in ".tar" and use Odin to flash it.... Or you can just extract the services.jar from the Hotspot mod and replace yours with it with a root browser, set permissions and reboot.

Is rooting that simple?

So I am about to load the ND8 stock tar over my MD4 rom (because I want to ultimately load the latest CM11)... but I am confused.
One of the posts here seems to loosly suggest that after loading the samsung stock tar of MD8, I can simply follow up with ODIN of TWRP. From there I can then load any rooted rom and have root?
Is this right? Seems that in the past, one needed root before installing a recovery.

Yes, but I highly recommend Philz Recovery over TWRP, it has zero problems with TouchWiz and AOSP, TWRP seems to have problems with TouchWiz. Philz also has a root option in the recovery so you can just root your stock ROM and download SuperSU from the Play Store and done.

Then just run it through Odin (I suggest you uncheck Auto Reboot and wait until it says PASS and then pull the battery and go into Recovery, go to Philz settings and there will be a ReRoot option. Then reboot and download SuperSU from the Play Store, and you have root).
