I can't post this where I would like to because I haven't posted enough, so I guess it goes here. I'm trying to find a rom with NFC enabled, mostly for use with Google Wallet. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm currently using the latest stable build of Slimkat and while it works well, I'm looking for more.

You can ask questions in Q&A just fine. That is where all questions go.
As for NFC, any stock based TouchWiz ROM should have NFC working just fine.
Every tw ROM I've ever used has it.

I've been running Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 1, with the new Android L recents and dynamic statusbar. It supports tap and pay as well as nfc. This is just an option if you don't like touch wiz based roms.

I love aosp, but also love this functionality.

The google play edition is aosp but also has the tv remote app patch and also has a beats audio toggle. I'd give it a try if I were you, it's a pretty solid rom.
Vanir has it according to the thread. I haven't personally tested it but several people report it working. You can find more info about it at its thread

I am running on VanirAOSP and IR blaster works fine. I use Smart IR Remote from the Play Store which is fantastic.
I think the just released unofficial Carbon rom has it as well.

anyone working on this yet? just asking
No Google now
I had to look up on youtube to see how the dialer functioned. I have used the launcher which I do not care for, and really have not found a great desire for the google now features which seem to be deeply integrated in that dialer.. I think one more generation and I may be interested.
It looks like on the home page of xda that Kitkat is already being worked on by cyanogenmod for certain devices. You may want to check there.
Enjoy!

There are to my knowledge 3 ROMs for 4.4. CM omni and one other who's name is drawing a blank. I would advise will03s unofficial cm as that's what I'm using and seems to be the most stable

yea will03s rom is installed and running beautifully!
I have been using this ROM since it first cam out and am currently on the Official 1.6 version. The only glitches I have noticed so far are graphical when you rotate the screen and every once and a while it will freeze and reboot. I use this as my main ROM and it is smooth and works very well. The "OK Google" feature works well as does the google now. I don't think I have found anything that does not work yet. Just thought I would put this out there because I have tried all the others including the unoficial CM11 and as far as stability and battery life this one is the best I have found. Here is the link to their thread.

CM 10.11 unofficial is better in my opinion, I have used both slimkat an cm10.11, no rotation glitches with latest cm10.11 build.

cant say anything about CM11, havent tried it, but there are no glitches in slimkat in the latest build.
cheers
The graphic glitches are fixed in all cm11 based roms. But please: there is no best ROM and there will never be. Just try it when you are curious..

I know that all ROMs are different and that each one is better in a different way. All I meant was which kit kat ROM is GBE best so far due to they are all still in their alpha builds and some are pretty glitchy still. Slimkat is a really nice ROM with only the rotation glitch left And I have flashed the latest CM11 as of last night and so far no rotation image glitches, no reboots and runs very quick and smooth.

The glitches are fixed on the surface, but below it's not a true fix - the drivers for gpu are not updated. It's more like a band aid, you can see when webview slows down in the gnex.

I'm finally getting my Galaxy Note 8.0, should be coming tomorrow, and I had a last minute question.
I understand that installing CM 11 removes all S-pen functionality, but that you can get a good bit back with the CM S Pen Add-on app and Note Buddy app. I was wondering how the S-pen experience is with that compared to with TouchWiz? If anyone knows. It would help me decide if I'm going to flash CM 11 or CivZ on the tablet.
Thank you.
I'm on the official Omni nightly and S Pen works great out of the box, so it might work on CM as well. Also read in another thread that it works on CM, there was no mention of additional apps to make it work

Awesome, thanks for the info! I'll have to check out Omni and see what's up, and maybe I'll switch to it!
GMD S pen control root in the play store works great and I also use papyrus as the note pad. I'm on beanstalk 4.4.2.

Cm11 because it patches the stagefright vulnerability, also it has better battery life.
Both good roms. Personally, I prefer slimkat because its really fast, I use the slimpie controls and im getting less play services crashes. Why not try them both? I have 2 nandroid backups just in case I want to switch it up. Hopefully someday we'll have dual boot...
In general what are the differences between SlimROM and CM? I see both for several devices, but I never tried flashing SlimROM. I assume both as very similar since they're both AOSP based.
This is all against XDA etiquette really. Flash both, check it out for yourself. Go with the one you like.
Before I used to use CM11 but now I am currently using slim kat. I think that slim kat is better it has more customization.
