Hello there,
I actually really like the new theme, but given that I'm using this theme by germainz just for the reason to let my eyes rest from the full-bright screen I'd like to request to also add a dark version of the 2014 theme. I'm sure a lot of users would apprecieate that.
I know that I can turn down the brightness, sure but it's just completely different when you're using a dark theme and a white theme that would drill your eyes no matter what.
To make it perfect for me then I'd like to request a theme same as germainz's linked above or really close to it. Like "holo xda 2014 theme".
I'll be very happy with any other dark theme for xda though. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Please, take it under your consideration.
Thank you.

Read the other thread, you'll see a dark theme is in progress. No need to start a new separate thread asking for it.

I have just started using this ROM and am loving it. One thing I have noticed is that for some apps the fonts are white on white background?? This mkes it impossible to read. Also some widgets with multiple background colour choice only appears as white making it very difficult to chose background. I am actually using a suave theme. I am not sure whether this is MIUI-XJ problem or the theme problem. Please help if you do know how to sort it out.
Change the theme and see if it helps.

its usually a theme thing, especially if you change parts of a currently used theme. Sometimes a reboot after applying a new theme can tidy things up a bit (like fonts). Best way to check is to reapply the default theme, if problem resolves, then its the theme that needs tweaking.
I was wondering if anyone could make a blue/black/grey/white color scheme for darkside ROM. I am a huge fan of this color scheme. I'm sure some are too
If not then it's ok. I would greatly appreciate it if it was made possible.

Try out the sensation theme by Alexia. I don't think you will be disappointed

Here are a few screen shots
Ps,
I flashed the green notification icons on top of the theme ( otherwise they stay grey if I'm not mistaken ). I mainly did it because I hate the semi transparent notification drop down. The original rom theme has a solid grey ( like in my picture ) so flashing that on top fixes it
In case you do like it, here is the link to the darkside build.

Just in general.
And the Sensation port by Alexia, how many toggle options are there in the pull down menu?

Im pretty sure that Alexia didnt leave anything out, soo whatever stock (DARKSIDE) has I'm sure her theme would have the same. Alexia pays pretty close attention to detail
and hey if you dont like it you could always just revert back to your nandroid
Hello Guys,
Please someone make a LIGHT theme!
My device is white, and i don't like the dark themes.
Please!!!!
I'm making a light theme
It'll be ready in about 3 months lol please be patient. I wish I was joking but unfortunately I'm not

Unfortunately making a light theme is a massive task other wise it would have been done long ago.
The Android OS uses the "dark theme" by default throughout the system unless told otherwise by apps like gmail.
To change this you would need to decompile all appropriate apps and edit the manifest.xml, as well as editing the framework styles.xml.
I've personally looked at the styles.xml and the light theme is no-where near as in depth as the dark theme so extra values would need to be added to make it look more complete.
That's why there are so many black themes around.
So people, now you know what's involved stop whinging "why it's there so many black themes?" Shut up and make your own if your not happy!.
Hopefully this makes sense.

haha that's why I said 3 months dully ok so I was being a bit optimistic...
On a more serious note... what are the implications of changing everything on both themes to be light?
The best way would to be to create your own theme within styles and then edit the manifests to call your theme.
This way you won't have any white text on white background.
I keep meaning to try this but I never have time unfortunately.
Don't forget, it will drain your battery more...

Introduction
Hello everybody! My name is Nitroz. I am a themer for TeamKang, thanks to Roman for letting me in You will be seeing alot more content from me and in the AOKP ROM. Some of you may know me from the Galaxy SII forum (Here), I sort of got my "fame" for porting the Black Android Theme by Pele. The theme got about 60,000 downloads and 100,000 page views and counting! But I decided to move onto an AOSP phone and start creating my own themes since I have gained the experience to do so. So welcome! If you're looking for a Black, Minimalistic theme for your Galaxy Nexus then this is the thread for you.
What is Black Exodus?
Well, when I first got my Galaxy Nexus one thing stood out to me which I didn't like. The color scheme of Ice Cream Sandwich. Its a very dull Blue color which I didn't tend to like for the most part, plus the dialer backgrounds were, in a way, fugly. So I decided to take on the task of making the style as minimalistic as possible with a nice Black & White design instead of Blue. This is what Black Exodus is, a nice, Black & White simplistic color scheme. Maintaining the ICS look, but with a White color instead of Blue.
Why Are You Moving to the Theme Chooser?
As most of you know, the other day via Twitter, Roman and Kejar announced that they have managed to get the theme engine from CM9 working on their ROM's (Gummy and AOKP) I've been working closely with Roman and AdamTheCashew and testing Black Exodus for the theme engine and turns out it works! So no more CWM Flashable ZIPS (Unless you want the inverted apps).
Why Are There No Inverted GApps?
Since I am very new to the CM Theme Engine and had to work it all out for myself, I haven't got round to including the inverted GApps (If its at all possible). I'm more concentrated on theming as many system apps as possible whilst maintaining a small APK size
Installation Instructions
-Download the BlackExodus from the Market links provided
-Depending on which ROM you're using, go to Settings>Themes (This is for CM9)
-Apply Black Exodus (There's no preview yet)
-Hit Apply Anyway
-Reboot for the navbar to theme properly
-You've been Exodus'd!

Do you think you could make a metamorph or zipthemer file to theme the extras that theme engine can't? For example stuff like power menu? Would be amazing to get rid of ALL the blue. Loving your work regardless. Does hurt to ask. Ha. Thanks again!!
You're Kurt Colbeck, right? I hope I'm not wrong. But if you're Kurt, then I'm a great fan of your theming work! I follow your work on Galaxy Nexus evening regularly on Google+, even though I don't have one.. It's great to see your work on the S II forums!
Big fan of yours from black android theme AKA the best theme EVER!
Glad to see your work again (and not on miui, hehe)
Take care & thanks

Power menu is themed if you're on a new CM9 build. Or (I would assume) on an AOKP build based on b36.

Running this awesome theme on my Nexus S CM9 nightly. Really like it and donated after trying the free one out. One question.. should the messenger be black? Mine isn't so I'm wondering if it should or because I'm on a Nexus S. Again awesome theme! Worth the $!

I love all the themes out there for our Note II and thank the devs for it.
But there's one thing I noticed. On every mod that theme the dialer, I saw that the pressed state of the dialer buttons is the same as stock Samsung in every single theme (dark bluish). Is there no way to theme that state? Not a very big deal but I think it breaks the uniformity in some themes.

Hi,
Yes it is possible to theme that.
In fact anything can be themed.
It's just a matter of finding the correct strings/png's to change/edit
Cheers
