[Theme] BUUF 1.5 Cyanogen 3.9.10 (8/14/09)

Hi Guys
For all that are unfamiliar with BUUF, it is a set of icons made for the desktops. Hopefully i recreated this experience to our beloved Android. All icons are courtesy of its creator Mattahan, the battery was supplied by Mr. Stylo and the clock was made by Rontz. Everything else by me 8) I really hope you guys enjoy this as I have put in quite a lot of time. Up to date we have 550+ icons changed in this theme and these pics really dont reflect the extensive amount of makeover it has gone through. I want to thank Stericson for giving the community and myself a great new hobby. Necromancer for his ubuntu theme which inspired me and everyone should go d/l it 8) Last but not least, Dave the illest for originally supplying the update.zip and the tools necessary to create my first release. Latest build is built from the ground up. If you use any of my icons go right ahead as long as you give me credit 8)
7/9 Sorry guys its been almost 5 months since i last updated this thing. Been so busy with work and now that I'm finally happy with a stable build out there, I decided to finally start porting this thing over. This has only been tested on Cynogen's build 3.6.5 You guys can test it on other builds at ur risk. 8) This is not a full change over as I have done previously in JF builds. I will continue to release new revisions as i have time to update the current icon set. This update may also require that you are running apps2sd as the update file is fairly large. I havent tested it on a non apps2sd build yet so someone can let me know. For now it will only be one color. as the theme gets more complete, I'll release new colors. Ok enjoy 8)

I'm working on a theme using the icons from GANT (actually GACK, the OS X version of GANT since it uses PNG icons) if dthadamaja doesn't beat me to it
I'm almost done with all the icons, but I still need to add resources like the tab, status bar, battery icons, wifi, a bootscreen, etc. I'm starting from the default RC30 so it won't have any elements of the Windows 7 theme in it, but it will probably have a lot of the default stuff...
I'll make a new post when I'm done, but it will probably end up looking a lot like this since GANT and BUUF are highly similar (but GANT has a bit more gloss to it)

Installed the theme with no issues..
Some of the icons are a bit blocky (calendar, browser bookmarks, refresh, etc) though. I hope these get fixed as it moves out of beta.

Sweet I had my TyTN II all GANT'ed up so this would make my G1 that much better! Can't wait for a release

hey how did you change the unlock pattern for the theme? where were those files located?
is it just in the framework.res folder? and you either tweak the icons given or replace them with your own personal image?
im tryna grasp the whole concept of the phone, im making a theme as well
wanted to try and edit everything, why not, unlike others i have a lot of free time this term in school, so why not
also you said u used the "windows-step by step" instructions to sign and create your app? i am having troubles with the signing of the apk

I was soooooo waiting for the black and white theme but you have renewed my love for GANT. Manhattan the kid that came up with these icons is amazing. I think he was 13 at the time he created the first GANT theme.

BuuF is the name of the icon pack. Go to deviantart.com and type in buuf or gant

semi-theme for cm 5.0.7 "the blue in you"

first warning, this is my first attempt at putting a theme together, so go easy, lol.
ok guys, i made a semi theme for myself and thought it was good so i figured id upload for others to try. i started with stevos (from cyanogenmod forum) black bar mod test 5. i then took lots of blue highlights/buttons/icons and such from and old theme (senseherov1.4) done by manup456 and merged them into here. it has a very clean feeling, yet i love it so much more then the stock yellow/orange/green.
ok here is 3 versions for cm 5.0.7-ds stable. they now include vertical power widget mod by anderweb and sitimber, then posted by bluedragon1982 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=680154&highlight=power+mod+eclair. the ds version just has themed settings menu. the trans version has the transparent widget also, and the ds dt has both plus themed trans widget. let me know what you guys think. thanks.

ok, during the week i have very little time to play but ill try. ya i noticed the download being yellow still today as i dl'ed 5.0.7 stable... as for metamorph, im old school so not really sure how it works yet, but ill look into it for sure. but as i haven't themed any apk's or anything there should not be any compatibility issues.

that is no longer done in theme, all those colors are changed via spare parts. open app and scrool to bottom, you will see ui tweaks. general is clock/date, notifications has the ticker & pull down stuff. takes effect after reboot

Switched from Midnight theme to the new theme. Enjoying every minute and as you rightly mentioned loving my SGS even more . Great work Guys...

One small Suggestion...
One small issue i have noticed is with the new themed G mail . In some mails there seems to be a issue with the font color (reduced readability). That is white font on white back ground and dark font on dark back ground. Hope you will look into this issue... Hey also love the new animations

Yes some dena's mods are applied to this theme. But that's not all. Jumba, Litepro and R64 mods are also included.

Definitely bad Idea

Settings.apk issue
I installed the complete theme this morning, beautiful!
The only problem I had is the Settings.apk. The icon dissappeared from the app drawer and couldn't be reached from the menu button either.
I installed a new non_wipe Doc rom and added your theme again, but the problem remains.
Now I coppied the Settings.apk from Generation X and that one works.

Can you post a version untouched Lockscreens for your Theme?

Unfortunately making a light theme is a massive task other wise it would have been done long ago.
The Android OS uses the "dark theme" by default throughout the system unless told otherwise by apps like gmail.
To change this you would need to decompile all appropriate apps and edit the manifest.xml, as well as editing the framework styles.xml.
I've personally looked at the styles.xml and the light theme is no-where near as in depth as the dark theme so extra values would need to be added to make it look more complete.
That's why there are so many black themes around.
So people, now you know what's involved stop whinging "why it's there so many black themes?" Shut up and make your own if your not happy!.
Hopefully this makes sense.

haha that's why I said 3 months dully ok so I was being a bit optimistic...
On a more serious note... what are the implications of changing everything on both themes to be light?

The best way would to be to create your own theme within styles and then edit the manifests to call your theme.
This way you won't have any white text on white background.
I keep meaning to try this but I never have time unfortunately.

Don't forget, it will drain your battery more...

Didn't experience THAT much worse battery when using miui with a good kernel... And miui is almost all white...

An updated version of 5UBZ3R0 is now on the marketplace!! GET IT HERE very cool for me as it's the first thing I have ever added. Plus I think it will be kinda cool for the people who purchase it to get automatic updates and not have to keep checking my thread.

For the best result I use APEX LAUNCHER! I have fully themed that where as some elements may not apply for you on a different stock launcher depending on your ROM.

If you get "improperly compiled" Error message, it is CM bug, not the Theme! It is caused when you have more than one Theme installed. Set to default system theme, reboot and then apply my theme.
Reboot after applying the Theme to take full effect!

This is the screen that appears when you first boot your phone, usually a white HTC screen. This is a replacement screen for the theme. Simply place the PG32IMG.zip on the ROOT of your SD card and reboot into bootloader. Bootloader will automatically find and install the file. When you are done reboot and remember to DELETE the file after you have installed it.

Finally I have something to give back to XDA, I give you my 5uBz3r0 Theme for Theme Chooser. It works on all Android versions and includes a flashable package containing blacked out apps, new UI sounds and a new tinted boot animation.
This theme took me months to get to a point where I was happy with it. It was a lot of trial and error to learn how these themes work, I am by no means an expert themer and honestly I don't really know what I'm doing, I learned all of this from XDA and decompiling other themes to figure out how they did things. There are so many themers that I need to thank for their awesome work that thought me everything I know. Honestly I would need a whole new thread just to list them all. This theme is by no means complete and may still contain some old images from the base I used, I am constantly trying to find the time to custom make all new images but it's a long process, so any old images you may notice will eventually be removed as I complete the theme.
Anyway I hope you enjoy this first version of my first theme chooser theme, I will be constantly working on it and updating it as I learn more and more about how this stuff works, so check back often for updates.

For the Venom theme I had some trouble automatically changing some things due to the changes in the ROM because of the amazing tweaks they have added. HOWEVER, with some playing around you can make the missing changes in the Venom Tweaks. Things like the transparent notification drawer and the statusbar color can be adjusted directly in the ROM's tweaks. Pleas play around a bit and if you have issues let me know and I'll help.

WOW!!!! Well first off I have to say a HUGE thank you to the Renovate team, this ROM is amazing!! Secondly thank you soooo much for the beautiful theme! I have been working on themeing sense 5 for a while now and all of the things I couldn't edit or fix team renovate seems to have solved! All black and beautiful!
I have made a Renovate Version which basically adds everything I loved about my theme to the amazing built in renovate theme! and it's soooo awesome! I'm finally really really happy with the look of my device!

It works and themes everything but without a Black Theme for a base (Like DarkOne) some stuff is still white and some text is dark Grey on Black.... but if you want to try it out it's totally useable and looks pretty great: 5UBZ3R0 for InsertCoin

Great theme but sense 5 only or we can use with 5.5? Especially on kitkat

This is a great theme. I actually just put it back on my old Nexus S4G yesterday. I am going to give it a shot in the next day or two on this phone. It's nice to have the theme tailored to each specific ROM as well

Hey Everyone. Sorry for the delays in updates and bug fixes but I'm living in the province of Newfoundland Canada and Currently we are in a massive blizzard and in the middle of a province wide blackout with more than 140,000 people with no power. Updates are coming but I'm barely able to post this Trying to keep my little man a woman warm... not easy. could be 3 more days before everyone gets power back and it;s super cold. I'll be back as soon as power comes back with an update and some new themes.
