Has anyone else notice that for some reason there's a lag like if the screen is off and I knock to turn on it'll take 10 seconds to turn on. Or if I have the quick circle case when I tap on the circle the little ring glows but it stays black for about 5 seconds then it shows the time. I have to turn off the phone wait a bit then turn back on. And it works fine once again anyone have any ideas?
i had to return my first G3 for a new one because the glass wasn't properly attached but before i returned it i noticed my device was warm and it had a 2-3 second delay when i would knock on, didn't really think anything of it at first, thought maby it just took along time for the cpu to fire up.
but after exchanging my G3 for a new one right away i noticed it was quite cool and fast compared to my first one AND the knock on feature on my new device is INSTANT, unlike my first one.
so i conclude my first device had some random issues right out of the box.
i would try a full power down, wait about a minute while it's off so it can static discharge then turn it back on, if that doesn't help maby try a facorty reset and if that doesn't help maby exchange it if you still can.
it's either apps/settings (factory reset to find out) or bad manufacturing like mine was.
Thank you, I'll try the factory reset hopefully that works. Otherwise I'll try to exchange

Ok, I was having some software issues with my Tilt 2 (TP2) and I talked to Tech @ AT&T, cause I wanted to get it exchanged. So they had me go and check to see if my ROM was outdated, which it was. I bileive it was on 1.59-ish, and now its on the most current one direct from HTC's Support site. My main problem right now is that the phone is 99% unuseable at the moment. AT&T has already agreed to send a replacement after talking with them a few hours ago, but its going to take about a week to get here, and it'll most likely have the same ROM and the same problems, so here I am posting to let people know whats going on, and see if anyone else knows what causes this/has this issue.
Right now the phone is completely stock, only installed app is MS My Phone so I could sync my contacts. I can let the phone sit till the screen shuts off from idle, but if I need to turn on the screen once it turns off, it requires the battery to be taken out. Right now my phone is sitting in front of my keyboard, with its screen black and off, while the keyboard is lit up. Something to note - the keys on the bottom of the screen are NOT lit up. Pushing buttons on the keyboard does nothing. Caps Lock and FN do NOT light up their coresponding indicator lights. If I am lucky, I can get the phone to come out of this state by having someone call me, but aside from that, taking out the battery has been the only way to reset it. Only way to keep the screen from freezing is to constantly use the phone. Using the phone is slow as balls. I thought TF3D was slow, Sense is just as bad. It worked perfectly fine at first, right after it was updated, it was nice and fast, but now that its been used for a few hours, its sluggish.
Anyone ever had this issue with this ROM?
And does anyone know how to possibly fix this issue, or at least get it so the screen will show that its on? I can deal with it being slow, so long as I can use the screen
Thanks guys

You already ruled out a software issue by flashing another stock ROM. This is something hardware related. Sense on the AT&T ROM is dreadfully slow. Use a custom ROM if you want the features of Sense, but in a faster iteration.
I bought a Samsung Glide i927 phone last month in the US, i bought it unlocked as i am from argentine, and i wanted to use it with movistar.
Recently the phone started to crash a lot, by that i mean that the screen starts going white, with horizontal lines and pixels of different colors appearing, then just turn off or restarts itself, only to crash again as soon as it starts an then turns off.
When this happens i try to start the phone and select the shut down option myself to see if the next time it starts it doesnt crash. But sooner or later it happens again.
This problem its happening too often, and not while doing something in particular like running an app or something. Sometimes it crashes just by plugging it to the power adapter, it even shows the white screen with the lines instead of the charging battery image when i charge it while turned off. I have already try to fix it upgrading android or doing a factory reset, but that didnt work.
Anyone have any idea of how to resolve the problem, or if its a hardware malfunction that cant be fixed?
To make things more difficult, as i said earlier im from argentine, and i cant go to AT&T or Samsung to get it fixed or get a replacement. English is not my first language, so please forgive my orthographic mistakes.
Thanks
This really sounds like some hardware problem, but to be safe, learn how to use Odin and use it to revert your phone to completely stock condition (cleaner than factory reset).

I tried to do that, but the first times when Odin try to reboot the phone it just freezes and i have to unplug it. After many tries it finally finished, but the phone keeps freezing and crashing.
The phone even crashes while turned of and conected to the power adapter.
Do you think that with LiteROM 0.9.0, that might fix this issues?
I've got reboots too, try to disable auto brighness
It helps for me

Power button issue
I am having a similar problem. At first, it just happened on rare occasions. However, today, it started doing it repeatedly. The phone was unusable. I did some checking around, and it appears that the power buttons on Samsung phones are prone to sticking. Some people suggest you actually remove the battery and slam the power button against a table. I wasn't going to do that, because I could just see it doing even more damage. What I did instead was firmly tap the power button repeatedly. It seemed to unstick the power button and allow the phone to function again.
Another alternative is to have the power button replaced, but that might be a hassle.
First of all, sorry for my bad english.
I bought it on amazon a few days ago, I have the same problem...
I thing aznemesis is right, because my power buttom is very sensitive, in fact, some times, when I press the button smooth and fast, to turn off the display like, the typical menu appears as if I had pressed the button for much longer period. Which proves your theory. The problem is if I hit the button over a table and the button breaks here in Chile do not exist spares of the terminal
Well, I did. I couldn't stand the desire to do so. After nearly 18 hours, the terminal isn't rebooted again.

The horizontal lines on the screen sound as if it is an overheating issue. What were you doing before your phone shut off? Are you using the factory charger?
cure found
take the battery out...blow on the power button with some compressed gas to get the dust out....then pour a drop of silicone based lubricant on the power button so that most of it gets in the gaps...then hit the power button a few times....haven't had any reboots since then
Two days ago, my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 dropped out of my coat pocket as i was running for the bus. I picked it up and saw the screen was cracked along the top left and bottom left hand side. Everything was working for the past two days and i figured i'll just wait till Christmas to get a new phone. This morning i took my phone off the charger and turned it on. The Samsung logo flashed, and then the boot animation for Slimrom (the custom rom i'm currently running on) flashed for about a second but then the screen went black. I did a battery pull but the weird thing is whenever i put my battery back in, even without touching the power button, it boots up by itself but then the screen goes black again. I can access TWRP and download mode but they both go black after a few seconds as well. I was able to successfully turn on my phone and have it fully function for about 15 minutes after putting it back on the charger, but it quickly blacked out again. It also keeps randomly booting up by itself which is weird. Im guessing this is a problem with the screen itself, but could it be a software issue because the device keeps booting up by itself? If it is the screen, will i have to buy a new one or is it not worth it? I've also tried using a different battery and i have the same issue so it can't be that. Any help is appreciated!
Sounds like an issue with the power button, it probably got stuck somehow either when you dropped it, or after you dropped it. Do a simple search for power button and you will find ways to fix it!
Holy crap i didn't even think of that! It makes total sense since every time i even tap my power button, even for just a second, it turns on. I've read around that clearing the cache or a factory reset could work. Is this true?
Unlikely, unless it's a software issue but it's always a possibility. Slam the phone against something to try to get the power button back into place, or open it up and try to see if you can fix it yourself, or replace it
The problem seems to be gone. I haven't had any issues for two days now. All i did was press the power button really hard multiple times. Thanks for you help man!
Hello everyone,
I have since the first time an LG G3 (D855) that I root and that works very well.
Recently I bought a new one from a friend for my girlfriend.
He never root it, he reset it and sent it to me by mail.
At the reception, I turn on the phone and there, I have the LED lights, sound start but nothing on the screen.
It reacts when I put the finger on the screen so the touch sensor works.
I try a restart and battery removal but nothing better.
The screen has no shock but I told myself that perhaps during the trip he took a bad cut.
I hope it's just a miswired table, so I dismounted to check, but still nothing.
ThenI try something, I disconnect my phone too and I swapped motherboards.
And then the screen with my card in it work.
While my screen with the motherboards of the phone I just bought stay blank.
So the screen is not broken, perhaps it was a install problem.
So I use LG Flash Tool to reinstall the original rom (following a tutorial )
Everything goes well and ends without worries.
But that didnt change anything, the screen is still black.
Do you have an idea ?
Thank you in advance for your assistance and sorry for my bad english
I just realized that if I strongly illuminates the screen I can see that it works.
It' like brightness was at zero.
It's not a screen problem because when I plug it to the other motherboard brightness is ok.
Someone had this issue?
Same problem here
So I'm having the same problem at the moment, but this is the 2nd time that this has happened to me. Last time. I fixed it by changing charger. It worked for like 2-3 month and then I switched again and the problem came back. I suggest you try a few charges. It took around a week before it got fixed.
Hope it'll work for you.
BTW it was a Nokia charger
Black screen G2 after some seconds even during boot...

Exactly the same problem on my LG G2.
It often go to black screen, but it's not totally OFF. Touch work, and the screen the same, i noticed using a torch that the brightness when to something like zero, but if i increase the level, it stay dark. Only press power button sometimes come back, but few second later... Dark screen again.
It happens everywhere during boot, in home, in lockscreen, in TWRP.
I tried:
- Change rom
- Flash stock firmware...
- Totally switched off for 2 months
- Detach and reattach the screen
- Test proximity sensor in hidden menu
Nothing worked.
If anyone has an idea...
Well, long time with my old body D851, yesterday after I install TecKcafe everything was wonderful, fast and stable,
Unfortunately after try the camera I realize the screen starts to flicker and fades out black.
I already did a factory Reset – No success
Flash Stock TOT and KDZ – No success
The screen turns On and even the Phone boots, but after a few mins the screen fade out black and the only option is to wait for it to cool down in order to get screen back but just for a couple of minutes, weird is that I dont feel that hot to drive the phone to fade out.
I already research a lot on the internet as well as this forum and see this can be a board issue, does anybody know if there is a permanent solution for this or if I have to start thinking in replace my old loved G3
Great phone, just remove the board and reseat all the cables, working as new.
If Admin sees this please close this Thread.
Thanks.
