Tmobile Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919)
I've been running the Google Edition rom for the past 6 months. I switched to a AOKP nightly and it was fine for a few days. My phone froze and rebooted and now stuck on a boot loop.
I've tried:
wiping cache/dalvik
Full wipe
Re-install AOKP rom
Full wipe
Re-install GE rom

Flashing M919UVUEMK2 with ODIN
Flashing M919UVUFNB4 with ODIN with a PIT file found in a un-bricking tutorial.
Tried Kies emergency firmware update but it's asking for a recovery code I don't have.
The phone is STILL bootlooping. Samsung screen displays and right before it would goto the animation screen, it loops.
I can get to download mode and the recovery os...
Please please help !!!!
I've never had such a persistent boot loop ever ...

Did you try flashing it to stock using odin and letting it boot up and settle in and then go back to the regular flashing business and also make sure you are dowloading the right roms for the correct device.

Negtive.... those are stock images I tried flashing with ODIN. That is my point... normally when you flash with ODIN, it fixes anything. I'm saying I tried flashing back to stock and it STILL boot loops

Uncheck auto reboot.
Flash the stock image in odin, then reflash it again without rebooting or restarting odin. Just flash and then reflash.

You don't have a stock image on the phone, and some parts don't get overwritten when you use odin.
So you end up with some touchwiz parts and some non touch wiz parts and its a big old mess.
Writing the stock image twice replaces everything, so everything is compatible.
Same thing if you are on an aosp rom and want to change your radio. You have to flash it twice to make it work.

Well thank you very much for this info... I was freaking there for a second lol. Shouldn't ODIN have an option to force overwrite everything ? I always thought that was what download mode was... wipe everything to zero and image each partition.

What do I do? Sorry for noob question... Also do i just odin back to stock? if so how?
Just boot into recovery, plug in your usb cable to your phone and computer, and flash a stock image using Odin. I would suggest you go ahead and flash a rooted stock image using these instructions.

Ummm Pull your battery for a minute or so. Put batt back in the press power, home and volume up. When you see the blue writing at top of screen relase all 3 buttons.
I had a similar problem, you don't mention which carrier you are on, but I suspect you are using the wrong stock ROM, or an incompatible stock ROM. You need to locate one for your carrier. This is the same problem I had last week.
Same problem.
I'm having the same problem. I followed the no-counter-tripping method to flash a root-injected stock ROM and it worked fine.
I flashed to CM9 and the camera wasn't working, so I used Odin to flash back to the same root-injected stock ROM and now it never finishes booting.
I noticed that flashing to the root-injected ROM didn't delete my apps, which seems strange. I suspect that there's something lingering from CM9 that is causing the loop in stock. I don't know any way to wipe the device and flash only the root-injected ROM, but I'm hoping that will fix it. Is there a way?

Have you tried flashing to stock ROM first (non-rooted)?
I had similar bootloop on GSII and had to go to stock to get it working. then I re-rooted.
Hey guys,
So I've been trying to get back to a stock rom because I am trying to sell my phone now, but everytime I flash a firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 using Odin, it gets stuck at boot screen no matter which one i flash even if it's pre-rooted or not. So is there any other way to flash stock rom without Odin or is there something I am doing wrong that is getting me stuck on this boot screen?
Thanks.

Before you tried using Odin to flash the stock or stock rooted firmware which
custom rom did you flash, and was the custom rom you flashed working properly
before you tried to flash back to stock or stock rooted?
Okay well after flashing this over so many times, the stock rom finally went through. Not sure what was holding it up, but no need to help anymore guys. Thanks.

Go to stock recovery by pressing volume up and power until it says booting recovery in blue letters at the top of the screen.
Wipe cache, then wipe/format data 3x or 4x and then try reflashing the stock rom.
Stock Rom provided by Jamison Download Here
Odin zip with All Versions provided by Jamison Download Here
Thank you Jamison and thank you to the one who said to wipe data/format, that was the right answer!!!
You are supposed to do it before you flash using Odin, DOH! :silly:
How long did the first boot take because ive done wipe data and stuff before and after and still stuck on logo screen
Booting can take up to 15 minutes after wiping data and cache.
If the phone still won't boot to the ROM, flash a stock ROM via Odin and perform a factory wipe using stock recovery before booting the ROM for the firs time.

I just recently got a new GS4 becuase of an insurance replacement. I looked at the specs before I flashed TWRP. After failing to install 4.2.2 ROMS, I finally found a 4.3 mk2 stock ROM to install. I have the phone working. But TWRP is not installed. My phone tests positive for ROOT with Rootchecker
Currently I'm getting this message everytime I boot "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing"
I have multiple 4.4.2 and 4.3 ROMs I like to use on my SD card, I'd like to continue from a TWRP backup i've made using that recovery.
Here are my current specs:
Model
SGH-M919
Android Version
4.3
Baseband
M919UVUEMK2
Kernel Version
[email protected] #1
Build Number
JSS15J.M919UVUEMK2
SELinux status
Permissive
Secure boot status
Type: Samsung
The replacement phone was probably already on the MK2 bootloader and modem when you received it. Which means you had Knox pre-installed and tripped it when you rooted the phone. The "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" error message does not affect the functioning of your phone in any way. It's just a part of the Knox bootloader. You can continue to re-install TWRP recovery and flash any ROM you want. Your phone will function as normal. Just don't try reverting to the 4.2.2 MDL baseband/modem because it won't work. There's currently no way to revert to 4.2.2 MDL if you're on MK2 or higher. If you want to get rid of the message just flash the stock kernel in a recovery.
Try to be careful with your replacement phone now since you tripped Knox. It might be harder to get a replacement depending on how T-Mobile is.
No donations are needed for these kinds of things.
Ok Im flashing Infamous 4.4.2 Version 3.7 after ODIN flashing TWRP 2.6.3.1
The only reason I'm flashing that ROM is because no backups are not showing theirselvesin the Restore option, what would cause that?
Is TWRP 2.5.0.2 better?
Did I miss a step? All my actions were using odin to flash the twrp recover, and then flash another ROM, or restoring a Previous Back. Should I have flashed a rooted bootloader, or rooted firmware or anything besides those two?

The backups could either be stored on the internal or external SD card. Try switching between both and see if they appear. They'll be in the TWRP folder on the root of either the internal/external storage.
I've had no problems with the latest TWRP v2.7.0.1. If you have problems then use v2.5.0.2.
If you have connection problems after installing Infamous 4.4.2, you might need to Odin the newest KitKat NB4 modem found here.
Download the file and flash MODEM.bin via Odin under the phone slot.
Personally, since you already tripped Knox, you should just Odin flash the complete NB4 KitKit stock ROM which will give you the newest modem without having to mess with anything else or do various flashing of things. Everything for flashing NB4 KitKit can be found here. Download the full 4.4 firmware from here.

You will still be able to flash the custom ROM after you Odin flash the KitKat NB4 firmware. The steps are as followed:
1. Open Odin v3.07.
2. UNcheck the boxes that say auto reboot and f. reset time.
3. Power off your phone and enter Download Mode by holding down the Vol DOWN + Home + Power buttons at the same time. Hit Vol UP after the warning message comes up.
4. Connect your phone to your PC and wait for it to appear in the COM: box in Odin.
5. Click the PDA tab and select the "M919UVUFNB4_HOME.tar.md5" file that you extracted from http://www.cheatersedge.org/android/m919/M919UVUFNB4_M919TMBFNB4_TMB_FENNY_FIXED.zip.
6. Wait for it to run an MD5 check. The program will freeze and unfreeze when it's done.
7. Click start and let Odin flash the ROM.
8. When it says PASS, unplug the phone and long press the power button until the phone turns off and reboots on its own. Leave it alone for about 2 minutes and then power it off.
9. Reboot back into Download Mode and then flash the CF-Autoroot found here.
10. Flash that via the PDA slot in Odin, reboot, and you should now be rooted. You can then continue to do everything else such as install TWRP and flash Infamous 4.4.2.

So I was doing some wiping in the TWRP, and all of the sudden my phone shut off and boot loops...But it boot loops into the Galaxy s III screen you see before recovery, and just boot loops over and over. I've tried flashing TWRP again, Clockwork, and Philz recovery, but nothing. Trying a stock restore right now to see if it works. I can get into download mode okay, and product name is listed as normal too.
Edit-After flashing the stock odin file for 4.3, nothing happens now.
It's gone.

Looks like some people had success with the Odin flash, others didn't. Looks like you'll have to try the de-brick method. If that doesn't work, you may have to use a jtag service.
Had the same exact problem here. Hard bricked and everything. Fixed with the method outlined here. Although I lost everything not included in a twrp backup.
It was dead for good, tried the fix, AT&T already got it back after they sent the new one out to me. Didn't see that it had custom recovery on it.
So I was able to root phone on w/o issue. I installed CWM via play store then proceeded to attempted to load Cyanogen mod via zip..and oh yeah I didn't wipe phone prior so....Now I have infinite loop issue at boot. Are you able to boot in recovery? (volume up + home + power). You could wipe and try flashing again (the first boot does take a while).
As for Odin, make sure you're using the right image (.tar) if recovery doesn't work.

So I am able to boot into recovery but it's the stock recovery, not the one I intalled after root.
I've tried flashing stock images, custom images, CWM, TWRP, .TARs all w/o success. In ODIN I've flashed CWM and TWRP and it reports success but upon reboot it goes back to stock recovery and shows now 13 attempts to load custom firmware. I even tried to use Cyanogen,s windows app but even that gets stuck saying it can't communicate w/device. I've tried several driver, hiemdal, (which I can't figure out). What I'd like to do wipe EVERYTHING, like format the phone but I can't seem to remove the Samsung boot loader. Is my phone beyond repair? Try with a different stock image (debloated if you want a smaller download).
Also, Heimdall installs its own drivers, therefor Odin won't work on the same usb port you've installed Heimdall on.
Even in stock recovery, you should be able to do a factory reset (I think). Chances are that your ROM is corrupted atm though, you can try doing a factory reset and attempt boot. If that doesn't work, go the Odin way.
Bootloaders are not something to play with, it's the only way to hard-brick your phone (and you definitively don't wanna remove those nor stop Odin while it's flashing them, if the .tar contains them).
what about...

Strange
So after flashing my i747 30x via ODIN w/various .tar for boot and recoveries I was briefly able to boot into CWM. Stupidly, I selected the format option and foolishly restarted, intending to boot back into CWM and flash a .zip image. Once I restarted I was locked out of CWM again and can only boot into stock recovery once again. What am I doing wrong? I just can't wrap my head around why every time I flash a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP or Philz's_Touch in OdIn and it reports success, when I restart it just loads Samsung's ****ty stock recovery. I still can't flash a ROM via ODIN but I'm hoping if I can get back into CWM I'll be able to load a new ROM and use my phone again. Anyhelp would be great.

What an a$$hole I am, I thought Download mode and Recovery were one in the same and flashing TWRP or CWM would replace download mode. Once I figured out that one it was a simple matter to boot into recovery and wipe the drive then flash my rom (Omni 4.4.2 D2att) IDK if it's the rom or all the screwing around I did but it now takes no less than 10 min to boot into android from rom splash. Tried updating Kernel to latest but found it didn't fix problem.

Did you do a clean flash? Sounds like you didn't factory reset.
Make sure you backup your apps before doing so if you wanna keep your app data.
