What do I do? Sorry for noob question... Also do i just odin back to stock? if so how?
Just boot into recovery, plug in your usb cable to your phone and computer, and flash a stock image using Odin. I would suggest you go ahead and flash a rooted stock image using these instructions.

Ummm Pull your battery for a minute or so. Put batt back in the press power, home and volume up. When you see the blue writing at top of screen relase all 3 buttons.
I had a similar problem, you don't mention which carrier you are on, but I suspect you are using the wrong stock ROM, or an incompatible stock ROM. You need to locate one for your carrier. This is the same problem I had last week.
Same problem.
I'm having the same problem. I followed the no-counter-tripping method to flash a root-injected stock ROM and it worked fine.
I flashed to CM9 and the camera wasn't working, so I used Odin to flash back to the same root-injected stock ROM and now it never finishes booting.
I noticed that flashing to the root-injected ROM didn't delete my apps, which seems strange. I suspect that there's something lingering from CM9 that is causing the loop in stock. I don't know any way to wipe the device and flash only the root-injected ROM, but I'm hoping that will fix it. Is there a way?

Have you tried flashing to stock ROM first (non-rooted)?
I had similar bootloop on GSII and had to go to stock to get it working. then I re-rooted.

Merry Christmas everyone. I tried to resolve this issue my self but was unable to. I had stock 4.3 rooted and flashed MOAR. MD5 matched. Everything seemed ok but when I flashed, it was stuck on "updating apps" for over 20 min. I did a battery pull. My phone started and I was able to go to TWRP recovery. I did a cache wipe and factory reset with plans of reflashing but everything was gone, including my nandroid. I tried to flash stock firmware from http://samsung-updates.com/ it said "failed". I cannot get back into TWRP. Is there any way I can restore to 4.1.2? Or 4.3? I just want to get the phone working again. Ideally I would like to get root back but my main priority is obviously just to get the phone working. Thank you.

I had a similar bad expreience with updating my rooted S3,
to recover your phone try to get md5 recovery room and install it using odin, try to get the one that called recovery (runs stock 4.0.4) then you can update by Kies to 4.3.
If stock means the Samsung update you need to flash the 4.3 firmware. If stock means the de-Knoxed version from here, I would start by flashing a new recovery image then reinstalling the de-Knoxed one.
Can you not get into any recovery at all?

When I press the volume up, home and power button it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again."
I installed the de-knoxed version..I would like to go back to the de-knoxed version if possible. Is there a way to flash new recovery image through ODIN...again, I'm not very confident in my abilities right now and don't want to flash anything to make it worse. Would it be possible to send me a link with what to flash. Thank you
Sorry I meant rom not room, but youv still can get it from the dev "room" forums. I got it from there.
sorry I cant post links here yet, i dont have the enough posts, but google "unroot sprint galaxy s3" it's one of he first links and once you get the md5 file you can use it with Odin, it's a simple process.
fixed it
Fixed it, got to keep root also. Flashed a new recovery image through ODIN (link for recovery in case anyone else needs it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38079994). Then flashed ROM. Thanks for your help guys.
So I have read flashed, read some more and I have gotten nowhere in 5 hours. Going to reach out here:
Situation: used Mobile Odin to flash the 4.4 modem from Fenny's 4.4.2 Stock ROM with MK2, (I'm a dumbass). Upon reboot I would get the SG4 logo then the blue mobile odin logo, then freeze. Was able to get into TW 2.7 but nothing would write, would say that it appeared that ROM wasn't rooted. Odin'd cf-auto, brought me back to stock recovery, odin'd TW 2.6.3.1 so now i'm back into custom. Went to go to one of my backups on my extSD, and it restored. Now I'm stuck at the SG4 logo. Attempted to flash firmware back to AMDL to start over..... nothing is happening. Still stuck on logo. Looking for any suggestions, $20 bounty for a fix

First off, please don't post the same question in multiple threads. The Help thread where you posted this was plenty.
Second, try this.
If you are able to get back into recovery, get back to the part where you had twrp 2.6.3.1.
Then restore your backed up rom like you said you already did. (You may still be at that point, but it's not clear if you overwrote that restore when you tried to use Odin.)
Once you are back at that point, wipe cache and dalvik from your restored rom. See if it boots then.

I would recommend downloading the official 4.2.2 tar file and flashing it via Odin from your computer. What bootloader are you on? With the device powered off, press and hold the volume down button, while holding the volume down button, press the power button to turn on your device. Once it vibrates, release the power button. It will prompt you to press volume up to enter download mode, or volume down to cancel and restart. Press volume up. If you do not have Knox use the 4.2.2 tar file and flash that. It seems like your partitions tables are screwed up. So flashing the official tar file will reset that. Afterwards, you will need to flash your custom recovery again through Odin. Then restoring your backups should work.

This is the tar file you will need. Flash this in Odin on your PC and let it do its thing. Then reboot back to download and flash your custom recovery. If you try to boot after flashing official tar, it won't boot. You will need to wipe data and the original factory recovery, if you wipe data using that, it will also wipe your internal sd card as well.

Grab a 4.3 kernel and reflash your kernel. If its stuck at the logo screen its more than likely a kernel issue, if stuck at boot animation, its a ROM issue.

So I was doing some wiping in the TWRP, and all of the sudden my phone shut off and boot loops...But it boot loops into the Galaxy s III screen you see before recovery, and just boot loops over and over. I've tried flashing TWRP again, Clockwork, and Philz recovery, but nothing. Trying a stock restore right now to see if it works. I can get into download mode okay, and product name is listed as normal too.
Edit-After flashing the stock odin file for 4.3, nothing happens now.
It's gone.

Flashing the stock ROM bricked it.

Looks like some people had success with the Odin flash, others didn't. Looks like you'll have to try the de-brick method. If that doesn't work, you may have to use a jtag service.
Had the same exact problem here. Hard bricked and everything. Fixed with the method outlined here. Although I lost everything not included in a twrp backup.
It was dead for good, tried the fix, AT&T already got it back after they sent the new one out to me. Didn't see that it had custom recovery on it.
I follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068
I put this file on the sd card debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img, made sure phone battery was charged up. Tried to enter download mode, it completely skipped it and phone is now running stock 4.3?? I try to enter recovery mode and it still just starts up with Stock 4.3.
So I assume it is running completely of the sd card. I can enter Stock Recovery but not sure what I do now. If i pull the card the phone is dead like before. Red light when plugged in, nothing happens with any button pushes.
I guess I am wondering what my next step is?
Thanks

The device is indeed booting off the SD card. However, if you can boot into system, you should also be able to boot into download and recovery modes using the 3-button combo. If you can get into download mode, you can try using Odin v 3.07 to flash the complete 4.3 stock image. Download the Odin flashable zip file from the link below to your computer. Extract the tar.md5 file and verify the MD5 to be sure it downloaded correctly.
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407590581
Download Odin v3.07 and run Odin.exe for the flashing tool. With your debrick card, boot into download mode by pressing the Volume Down, Home and Power button. If you can't get into download mode with the 3-button combo, suggest you try a USB jig. Use Odin to flash the stock file to your phone. If the flashing is successful, the device should be able to boot normally after this without the debrick card.
Cool thanks Larry2999. I will have to go the USB jig route it won't go into recovery or download. I can only get into Stock recovery. Any specifics I need to know when getting a usb jig? Thanks again for you response. I am just glad it is working now. But probably don't want to run off SD forever.

There is a thread somewhere on how to make a D-I-Y jig. You can, however, buy it cheaply online for about $3. In buying one, you'd only need to be sure it states that it works with the S3.
Looks like you are able to get into recovery now but you have stock, rather than custom, recovery. There is only one recovery partition and the default is stock, unless, you flash a custom recovery. If you had custom recovery, it would have been possible to flash a 4.3 stock restore zip via (custom) recovery. To flash custom recovery, however, you'd need Odin in download mode so we are back to the problem with getting into download mode.
Thanks Larry ordering jig tomorrow

Yes, the ONLY way to recover is to flash a complete 4.3 stock image. Are you sure you bricked in the first instance by flashing 4.3 via Odin? The only Odin compatible stock 4.3 file I'm aware of is the one in the link I forwarded earlier. This was only recently developed and appears to have been used by several people without problem. You may check to be sure you were not trying to flash a 4.1.1 file in error. Apologies if I sound like I'm second guessing you but flashing 4.1.1 via Odin usually results in the kind of hard brick you experienced.
The other alternative would be to flash custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) via Odin and then use custom recovery to flash a complete 4.3 stock image. You will find the instructions in the following thread ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
Download the stock restore zip for your preferred custom recovery option to your PC and save to your phone's internal storage. If you want to use TWRP, you can find the Odin flashable file for TWRP via the link below ...
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-d2att.tar
If, however, you go the first option and flash the 4.3 file via Odin, be sure to use Odin v 3.07. You'll see the Odin flashable file and instructions on page 4 of the following thread ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722660&page=4
or you can download directly from here ...

The file from that thread is for (custom) recovery only. You can't flash zips via Odin so if you are using that file, you would need to first install custom recovery via Odin and then flash the zip via custom recovery.

So I was able to root phone on w/o issue. I installed CWM via play store then proceeded to attempted to load Cyanogen mod via zip..and oh yeah I didn't wipe phone prior so....Now I have infinite loop issue at boot. I've searched the interwebs looking for any way to get back to stock or anything so I'll be able to use the phone again but have come up short every time. I've tried using ODIN to flash stock image but that fails. I've tried various .tar, .tz and anything else that odin will load w/o success. Will anyone take pity on my stupid ass and lens a hand?

Are you able to boot in recovery? (volume up + home + power). You could wipe and try flashing again (the first boot does take a while).
As for Odin, make sure you're using the right image (.tar) if recovery doesn't work.

So I am able to boot into recovery but it's the stock recovery, not the one I intalled after root.
I've tried flashing stock images, custom images, CWM, TWRP, .TARs all w/o success. In ODIN I've flashed CWM and TWRP and it reports success but upon reboot it goes back to stock recovery and shows now 13 attempts to load custom firmware. I even tried to use Cyanogen,s windows app but even that gets stuck saying it can't communicate w/device. I've tried several driver, hiemdal, (which I can't figure out). What I'd like to do wipe EVERYTHING, like format the phone but I can't seem to remove the Samsung boot loader. Is my phone beyond repair? I'm super bummed, esp since I'm not a total noob when it comes to custom ROMs. I dropped greenpoison on my fist iPhone and had several ROMs on my old Moto Atrix. I think whatever evil Samsiung put on this device is totally screwing me.

Try with a different stock image (debloated if you want a smaller download).
Also, Heimdall installs its own drivers, therefor Odin won't work on the same usb port you've installed Heimdall on.
Even in stock recovery, you should be able to do a factory reset (I think). Chances are that your ROM is corrupted atm though, you can try doing a factory reset and attempt boot. If that doesn't work, go the Odin way.
Bootloaders are not something to play with, it's the only way to hard-brick your phone (and you definitively don't wanna remove those nor stop Odin while it's flashing them, if the .tar contains them).
what about...

I updated the phone via ota to latest android (4.3 ?). And I think the stock image I tried using was 4.1.x. Could it be I need to find a stock 4.3.x image from at&t? Any idea where to get this? I don't think AT&T provides ythis as that is where I got the previous stock image.

Can you check if the image you used had bootloaders? Cause if so, you might have bricked your phone. You can't downgrade bootloaders from 4.3.
The image can be found here or on sammobile.com
Strange
So after flashing my i747 30x via ODIN w/various .tar for boot and recoveries I was briefly able to boot into CWM. Stupidly, I selected the format option and foolishly restarted, intending to boot back into CWM and flash a .zip image. Once I restarted I was locked out of CWM again and can only boot into stock recovery once again. What am I doing wrong? I just can't wrap my head around why every time I flash a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP or Philz's_Touch in OdIn and it reports success, when I restart it just loads Samsung's ****ty stock recovery. I still can't flash a ROM via ODIN but I'm hoping if I can get back into CWM I'll be able to load a new ROM and use my phone again. Anyhelp would be great.

So I think I figured out what I did wrong. Recovery mode = pwr+home+VolUp...Download mode = Pwr+home+VolDown. What an a$$hole I am, I thought Download mode and Recovery were one in the same and flashing TWRP or CWM would replace download mode. Once I figured out that one it was a simple matter to boot into recovery and wipe the drive then flash my rom (Omni 4.4.2 D2att) IDK if it's the rom or all the screwing around I did but it now takes no less than 10 min to boot into android from rom splash. Tried updating Kernel to latest but found it didn't fix problem.

Did you do a clean flash? Sounds like you didn't factory reset.
Make sure you backup your apps before doing so if you wanna keep your app data.
