did you delete the old voice search using Root Explorer, or something similar?

Not sure if it has something to do with root explorer but i used titanium to uninstall the old one, rebooted, then tried again and it worked.

Why do people do this dance, rather than just installing the new gapps, which has it included? After all, that's where they got the original one.

I got this error when I tried to install Smartr Contacts and took it off my phone. It keeps popping up and freezing the system...i tried to restore titanium backup android.keyboard but to no avail. Can someone please tell me what to do other than restoring a backup? Are there any other processes I can try to restore?
Phone was bought and rooted and worked on from yesterday til today it is an ICS samsung galaxy s3 att i747
Only happens when Android keyboard (as opposed to swype/samsung keyboard) is selected?
Fix anyone?

Flash this http://db.tt/3i5sQZ5V
Just ignore the text its made of another 1 of.my zips lol.
Tried to flash kb.zip... failed
tried to force stop, clear data/ cache/davlik failed
I might just download a copy of a custom keyboard (keyboadr pro) from store and load the ics keyboadr on keyboard pro...a little more customizable too.
Reading about the error I foudn that it might have to do with the kernel (as opposed to the rom). So I wouldn't jump the flashing the restore bandwagon so fast

Surprised its failed worked ok for me. Id say you definately dont have To restore a backup. If you can still navigate the system installing another one should work.

Since a few people ran into this issue I would leave the Samsung keyboard out of that Turboslim script. It was the only keyboard along with voice that worked. I would get the same error off of different ones in market. What is it that messes up those keyboard but not the Samsung one is the question.
I put on AOKP last night so this isn't a worry for me right now. If you have the samsung keyboard as standalone and can post it as an apk or zip, it would be really nice for those who are faicng the same dilemma and fall upon this thread or for when I go back to that rom
After reflashing my rom and setting up my phone from scratch i notice i lost my keyboard characters...ex..?, etc...i have them set to be enabled thru wanam but still arent showing...wierd cause i had them before the new set up..anyone know why?

What keyboard are you using? I actually don't get what you mean. Do you, by chance, have a backup with the keys where they're supposed to be... if so, grab a screenshot of that and your current keyboard... If that wouldn't be too much trouble.

If you hold the keys, does the alternate key so come up like it's supposed to? Are you using the same keyboard as you were before? Same version and all? I'm pretty unfamiliar with the stock keyboard as I've been using SwiftKey for a year or so now and it has the alternate keys enabled by default... It's also free in the play store now.

Ok, try toggling the setting you're talking about in wanam. Toggle it off, reboot, and then Toggle it back on.

The Sickness Edition V2 Developers System?
Also, not that I'm worried about it or anything, but Chrome popped up saying BX10R_Test03.zip was malicious... not it was possibly malicious... not warning me that there was a chance it could be malicious... nah, Chrome said it WAS malicious, lol.

Lol, for testing purposes, I literally just did a full wipe, flashed SicknessV2, the keyboard, then rebooted. No kernel, no mods, nothing but those two files. Keyboard had the alternate characters right at the very beginning of the setup process (putting in my WiFi password) and obviously stayed through downloading TiBu and restoring XDA

I'd say to make a backup of your apps/data with Titanium Backup or equivalent. Then do a clean flash, flashing nothing but the ROM and the keyboard. If it works on a clean flash with nothing else installed, I'd go ahead and add your other flashable mods like The Sickness Modz.. Basically just restore everything in stages, checking to make sure the keyboard still works after each stage. If, after restoring your apps/data, the keyboard stops working, you'll know it's something to do with an app that breaks it. Then just restore a few apps at a time, rebooting after each and checking the keyboard. Then do your xposed modules one at a time. When you find what breaks the keyboard you can then either find a workaround or just stop using whatever it is that breaks it altogether.

Before you go through all that, check out the Xposed module called Samsung Alt Symbols. It worked for me on stock firmware and I am on the At&t variant but maybe it's worth a shot.

I went a little too far with removing some of the default LG apps after rooting and I'm getting odd issues now. I'd like to reinstall apps vs. reimage the stock setup if possible.
Does anyone know where I can grab all the stock apps for the G4?
If you install LG Smartworld, you can download all the LG apps again.
it's also accessible here: http://www.lgappstv.com/
Thanks for the suggestion but it looks like the applications I need aren't in this store. So far it looks like I need to reinstall LG Lifetracker, LG Backup and LG Air drive.

There is somewhere you can download them. I thought it was that app. it must be another LG app somewhere, because I had to use it to download and install the FM Radio app.
Found it!
Settings - About Phone - Update Centre - Software Update.
Your missing apps are in there for download
It claims all apps are installed. I wonder if I didn't fully delete the apps with Tibu so it thinks I still have them.

Why don't you just reapply the rooted system.IMG you used while rooting. That will give you all your apps back
I tried that and it didn't for whatever reason.

I almost wonder if perhaps you had frozen the apps at some point prior to uninstalling them cause if you did, when you reinstall stuff tibu would pick up that you want them frozen and they would be gone again. Flashing the system installs all the crap that's included in stock so this is the only logical reason I can think of that would be causing your issue

I have the LGUSMms.apk installed, I see it in folders, in app drawer, but when I click it, it says app not installed, won't open. I redid the rooted image, still the same. Any ideas?
VS986 (LG G4)
Hi,
I was screwing around the other day and without realising, deleted the Phone app
When I restarted my phone, I got into a bootloop (it went from the SAMSUNG animation to the 'Optimizing apps' screen, and back to the SAMSUNG animation)
I tried installing an old one that I found on APKMirror, which booted, but 'com.android.phone' keeps crashing and I can't do anything!
So is anybody able to upload the original Phone APK from their phone? I've got an A3, but I'm sure one from an A5/7 would work the same.
If anybody could, they'd be a lifesaver!
TIA,
Ben

Well the euphoria was short lived. I installed it by putting it in /system/app and doing 'chmod 644' on it, but it still keeps crashing and I still have no SIM card...
Does it need to be installed somewhere special? priv-app?
Where did you pull the apk from Chris.nl?

I used SD-Maid to export the apk. Don't know it's original location.
I think /system/priv-app/TeleService/ but maybe you should reflash stock again. Just freeze apps (first few days) instead of deleting them to prefent mayor issues like this. I'm sorry.
