All of a sudden my phone keeps trying to find my location, like it can't lock on. Any suggestions

I have an unlocked galaxy Nexus. It is rooted and running slimkat. When I go into location services the slider is on the off position and whenever I try to slide it to the on position is automatically goes back to off. Even in the pull down menu it doesn't allow me to turn location on. Does it have something to do with my phone or is it Rogers? I had to manually set up the Rogers non-lte an yesterday, does that have anything to do with it?
Just updated my note 3 to the most recent version ending in dnf4. The GPS icon in the notification panel is now changed to location. I like having location services on but only in power saving until I need gps to navigate etc. Now the location icon must be checked in order to use Google location services. Every time I select location on it asks for permission to track my location and automatically goes into high accuracy mode. I have to go to settings and select power saving and do the same for when I want gps. It's really annoying. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone way to go back to the way it was with only the gps toggle? Much thanks in advance.
Been that way since ne6
Interesting I was in CNB4 before this and I might go back. I do not like this set up.
i can confirm is a problem with nf4 it was fine on nf1
Can somebody make, or know of a widget that disables the phone gsm radio, and turns it back on like the phone info app?
Would save a lot of time instead of resetting the phone every time the data connection decides to stop working until you do.
I found if you turn the radio off, then back on in the "phone info" app, its basically the same results as resetting it for that particular annoyance on the m9.
Can find the phone info app using most of the secret menu apps on the market.
Ive never encountered that issue.. Have you tried airplane mode?
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
Airplane mode only disables data, doesn't actually turn the gsm radio off.
There's a "turn off radio" button in the testing menu - open dialer, enter *#*#4636#*#* and go under Phone information. Not sure if that would act the same as airplane mode or not tho, but it's worth a try.
That's what I've been using instead of restarting the phone.
Was wondering if anybody could make an appointment or widget to do the same thing as pressing that button.
Why does my phone always say "Location Found" in the notifications? I cannot even swipe it away.
You must have Location set to "High Accuracy". The system will try to find your location constantly. If you're in a location where it's hard to get a lock, whether because there is no GPS or network signal, the system will take a LONG time trying to find your location. It cannot be swiped away but you can try clearing your currently running programs to see if that helps.
I changed my Location setting from "High Accuracy" to "Battery Saving" and I have not have any issues with that. It also almost eliminated the heating issues I was having, where it felt like I had a small, portable furnace in my pocket whenever the phone would switch out of 4G into 3G or 1x. I have also found that update 13B is much more stable and has improved my battery life.
Hope that helps.
Location Found Notification
When I open Waze it needs my location turned on to accurately navigate, and that turns on that notification. If I tap on that notification, and tap on Waze in the list, and force stop Waze the notification goes away until the next time I use Waze. :good:
I've tried every shortcut to turn it off, and it won't. I can't figure out how to open settings anymore because there's no pull down gesture. I tried telling Assistant to disable Talkback and it tells me that Talkback isn't available on my device.
Someone save me!
UPDATE: I stumbled on 2 finger swipe down for settings and was able to finally poke around and turn the damned thing back off.
