I can't make it work
I have updated that two apps, and the house mode get enabled, but I think that not as it is in the moto x. It reads the SMS that you receive, but I can't achieve to use the phone without touching it. I don't know if I am stupid and I don't know how to do that, or simply this function is not enabled on moto g and e.
If someone has achieved that, please tell how

when i recive a call or text it reads to me, then it ask me what to do, for the call i can say answer or ignore (if i say answer the phone will be put on speaker) and after the sms is read to me i can reply with my voice. My phone is in english UK, maybe it is language dependent...

The problem was that I'm stupid haha. I thought that the house mode allow to have a touchless control all the time. Then I realised that it only read the SMS and you can control the calls with the voice. It's ok, but I though that it was a huge change
I like the home profile but every time when I have to activate it, I have to enable GPS, and I don't want to waste battery by turning on GPS for whole day is there is any trick or way so that it works without GPS, if it's totally based on GPS then what is the point, an application for just show off ???
How to use this app?

Hello guy`s i need some help.
So im looking for some good Caller BlackList app that will work perfect on my HTC Touch HD
I was searching on the net and i already try few like MagiCall, Steelsoft Blaclist and etc they don`t work fine for me on the Blackstone and when i add some phone number to the Blacklist nothing heppand the number is able to call me anytime.
I need advice from peoples who know witch program i need!
Im looking for some good Blacklist Caller to be simple easy to use with no alot extras just when i put some number on the blacklist he to be really on theblacklist till i don`t move it from there!
And when this number try to call me always to give a busy signal or my phone is turned off something like this!
Thanks in advance
P.S I try befor few minutes the app that i found here called CallFirewall 1.4 and again the same im adding numbers to the BlackList and they are able to call me without a problem so this app don`t work for me too Please HELP
You must not close the apps after adding a a number... You MUST hide them... They must be always enabled to reject calls, otherwise apps dont work...
I use magicall and it works perfect...
I'm using No Calls.
A finger friendly call-blocking software which works great on the HD.

Me too, works fine and allows the creation of profiles and blocking calls without caller id (a must).
NoCalls seems great but one thing i couldn't do on it was block specific numbers without having the numbers in the contact list, any idea how or a program that can do that.
Thank you for the advise i already download No Calls v 1.0 and use it the problem i had is the program really work and block the selected contacts but didn`t block them immideately what i mean when this contact try to call me for few second he recive a free signal and after this the phone ignoring him and looks like someone calling me and i press the red button! so the question is here i need a smart fast software that for example if you are addet to my blacklist you to recive busy signal from the begining or something like this
because not have any point 1st to be free signal and after that busy i can do the same without to use any program just i need to press the red button!
I hope to understand me and give me some advice why this heppand and why the program don`t work fast
Thanks
I Found desigion so now i try again SteelSoft BlackList v 4.21 and it work perfect for me block the calls immidiately so the point is this that yesterday i install the app in my Storage Card and afer this she don`t wana block any calls etc.. today befor few minutes install the same app in my Phone memory and the program work like a charm!
So for peoples who have the same problem like me they can use this app and all will be fine!
When the banned contact or number try to call you will recive few second`s busy signal and will be ignored very fast nobody can suspect that you put him in the blacklist!
Perfect
I use Magicall on my HD. No problems at all. It's a great SMS/Call filter.
Hey guys i just recently purchase the HTC TOUCH PRO and im trying to figure out where and how to get the no call program. Thanks.
how are you? so what you are saying is that as soon as the person calls they received a busy signal and then their phone will receive whatever txt your phone is defaulted to send them. And also does their number come up at all?
+1 For Magicall (SMS, no signal, password, drop log, ....)
but not free
+1 for MagiCall, works fine for me on Dutty Holy Grail R0 ROM as well as on Stock one.

Just put this on your drive and click on it with the file explorer. When it asks for voicemail setup hit the skip button. You have a google voice number right?
gAppsInstaller_v4 works for me too, I wasn't able to make it get past the voicemail configuration before I Tried v4 a few days ago.

google voice hanging on voicemail setup
I had the same issue with it being stuck on the voicemail setup and never offering a skip option. I used a the 0.4.2.13 version I found on this site and it worked. After getting past that problem now I can't figure out why I can't make calls from the google voice app. Does the dialer try to use a real phone dialer to make calls or why does it start to dial and then disappear? Anyone got a good solution for making calls from your archos using google voice? Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread. Why does the Voice app not appear in the market either?? Can't even use the QR Code or the link from google.com/voice to install it. Have to find apk and side load. Would be nice to see this app show up in market with the most up to date version from google
I don't think you can use Google voice over work but texting works fine. You could use sipdroid and GV to make calls.
I installed Google Voice from the above apk. After much trial and error, I have texting working perfectly except for one thing. When somebody sends a text to my Google Voice number, the text goes to my cell phone and notifies me by a ringtone. The message also goes to the Google Voice Inbox on my Archos 101 but there is no kind of notification. Is there someway I can get a ringtone notification on my Archos for an incoming text message?
I installed the silence widgets from my phone and noticed the archos boots often with some functions silenced.i get a notification when i get text on. Archos

Try checking settings. There probably is an option to choose your Notification ringtone.
Ok guys - I know that this works on my Evo, and I will install it on my 101 when it gets here. But I wanted to put this down to see how it works for you.
This is taken from:
VOIP for Android devices
1. If not already done, install Google Voice on your device using the link already on this thread above.
2. Install Sipdroid from the Market on your device. Alternatively here is a link to it - Sipdroid
3. When you run the Sipdroid app for the first time, you’ll see a touch button at the bottom of the screen. This will setup Sipdroid, a background service at a site pbxes.org (a free virtual PBX site), and activate the VOIP service. You be prompted to enter your Google Account User ID and Password. This info is used to create an account at pbxes.org. This service does background/transparent call management.
4. Sipdroid will auto activate when you turn on wifi and stays active until you disconnect from wifi. There will be a new icon (Round icon which should be green when connected) in the notification area of your device showing if you are connected to the VOIP service. Close out of Sipdroid - I haven't used it again after successfully signing in.
5. Install fring from the Market. You'll use this to initiate GV/SIP calls over wifi.
6. Setup your SIP account on fring - make sure your entire pbxes.org address is used as the login.
7. Make sure that it successfully logs in, and then press menu and open the dialer. Enter in a phone number to dial, and choose "SIP call". I entered in the phone number with area code but no "+1" or "1" in front.
That should be all you have to do. Let me know if it doesn't work and we can troubleshoot. I will be getting my 101 soon and then I will be able to test this.
The method above worked great but when calling its muting the speaker on my 101. Any suggestions?
no issues here, i text with it all the time, now if i could only make phone calls, for the ringtone you need to open settings in google voice, enter the app and hit the menu button and go to settings, make sure notifications are turned on.

I haven't tried the texting but I was able to make calls last night using the posted method. Once I dial I hear the ringing on the 101 speaker but the instant I pick up the line I am calling the Archos volume icon on the top right shows with the X (muted). This happens automatically. When I try to do volume control the volume description says "in-call volume" and is at the first level but I can't raise or lower it. As soon as I end the call the volume icon goes back to normal. If we can resolve this we can make calls over wifi using the method posted by jerdog.

It has got to have something to do with not having the Phone.apk or TelephonyProvider.apk. It seems that it doesn't know how to route audio input.... It works on my HTC Evo phone....
Does Archos have a tablet that has a cell radio in it that we could extract those apk's and try adding them in even though we know it wouldn't work as a phone?
And has anyone tried using a Bluetooth or a wired headset to see if audio works in that?

I tried the wired headset but no luck, the system turns the sound off. Not sure if there is a cell radio in the Archos. I will try to play around some more today but I am still learning about Android.
I will also give a bluetooth headset a shot
Yeah That happens .... the only way now to solve the Speaker problem is by pressing the power Button and then choose Silent Mode and it will activate it

There isn't a radio in the Gen8 as far as I can tell - but I am wondering if any of their other models have one?
It's most likely an instance where we'll have to hack the kernel to include audio input - if the hardware is even capable of it. Or to allow BT audio in
So I just bought a new car, and while hooking my dinc up via Bluetooth I noticed that I cant call out from my phone because I have it set to ask every time I make a call if I want to use Google voice...it gets stuck on that screen and fails to make the call.
Is there a way to prevent the Google voice app from asking when calling out via Bluetooth?
Anyone? I could have sworn it worked Thursday when I picked the car up, that's the weird thing...
I'm not sure exactly where it is but there is an option in the settings somewhere that dictates how Google voice handles calls. It can be set to use Google voice, not use it, or ask.

I think that's for international calls. But, you phone might be dialing an international prefix before the number. That normally wouldn't matter, but Gvoice will take notice of it. I set mine to never ask because I never call internationally.
Ah yeah, I think loonatik is right. So if you do have 1+ before the number, GV will probably pick that up and that might be what's giving you troubles. Maybe?
No, I have it set to always ask...but I was hoping there was some way to override it if the call is made via Bluetooth. I could have sworn I had it working Thursday, but now it just fails because it gets stuck on the Google voice screen ...
Anyone know of any way to override the setting if making a call thru Bluetooth?
Or, an alternative would be for me to turn it off (or on) for all calls and have an easy way to bypass it...
Possible solutions...
Free, but a pain in the butt:
Drop the Google Voice Settings widget on one of your home screens. The third button (the one that looks like a handset inside of a settings button) toggles call modes for GV:
-Use for all calls
-Do not use
-Use for international
-Ask every time
Free, but I have never tried the app so I can't personally comment:
http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/communication/google-voice-callback-free_fpin.html
Looks like you could set this up to perhaps side-step the GV behavior of manually answering every time
I was about to write out how to do it with Tasker and the Locale Google Voice Settings plug-in. But I just realized that it doesn't have the all/none/ask choice as a plug-in setting: only the online stuff like forwarding phones, etc. Bummer - but maybe you could contact the dev about future integration
Google Voice always ask and bluetooth
Did you ever find a good work-around or solution for this?
I just got an S4 today, and I was hoping that the Google Voice app on the Android would be similar to the iPhone one. It's not.
I use google voice to call/text my friends (I ported my original # over to Google) and the main number for work. But when I tried making a call over bluetooth in the car, got the same problem as you, it got stuck on the "Always Ask" prompt. The problem with making it never ask, is there is no dialer to just go to like there is on an iPhone when you do want to make a call using Google Voice. So you have to keep switching the option on that widget before every call. So annoying.
Suggestions?
One of the things I liked about the Galaxy gear was being able to make calls easily from it. On the 360 if I use Google now and say "call John Doe" all it does is perform a web search for that term.
Is it not possible to use the 360 to dictate to your phone to call someone? I use a Bluetooth headset and it would be great to be able to make the call utilizing the 360 and not pull out my phone.
Well, for me anyway yes it does work fine. "Call Victoria on her mobile" is recognized as such, triggers call on phone, closes Google now on watch, and call is going through as I pick up my phone.
I said 'for me' because I am using a Moto X and have enjoyed this sorry of functionality for a while, so not sure if the phone is helping that process or not....
Have you tried a more unique name, maybe only one of in your address book?
I perform calls voice as well. Not sure why it isn't working for you
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guidology.android.minidialer
Does it work if you open google now from your phone and tell it to dial a contact? If so then I am not sure why it is doing that..
IF however it also doesn't dial when you use it on your phone directly, it is likely a settings issue. Fix:
1. Go into google now/google search.
2. Scroll to the very bottom of all the cards.
3. Click on the 3 dots on the bottom right side.
4. Click settings and go to Accounts & privacy.
5. Make sure that Contact recognition is check-marked and if it isn't do so.
6. Test and hopefully enjoy the feature! :fingers-crossed:
I said "call..." and it did a Google search. Then I tried "place a call to..." And it worked for me.
First of all Good Day to all.
The reason I'm here is out of frustration. I have read this site for a long time, but never joined. I'm coming here because there are a lot of very knowledgeable people that may have the answer that I have been looking for and up until now can not find.
I NEED an app that seems to be impossible to find, at lease for me. What I need is an app that will allow a selected group of people to call AND text with notifications without other notifications sounding. I want a "set it forget it" app that once set it will do this automatically every night.
The Note 4 has a "Blocking mode" which would be perfect if it would allow both SMS notifications and call notifications to come through for a selected group of people without having to check all notifications to come through.
I have sons that seem to never call and only text when checking in. I set my phone to go silent at around 12 and come back on at 6am. With this, calls will come through for my favorites but in order for text sounds to come through I have to allow all sounds to come through which defeats the silent mode.
Is there such a thing? Is this impossible to do? Am I doing something wrong in settings?
Can you please advise? Thanking you in advance.
Google tasker block calls and text. It may work for you. Did a quick read and some had made profiles that of you weren't in contacts it would block them, or send to voice mail... hope that helps

I needed something to allow text and calls through not block them. I wanted a simple app that I could set a time to turn off all sounds at night and then turn them back on in the morning. In this time frame I wanted to allow a group of people to be able to either text or call me and it would ring, blocking all others contacts and notifications. There is a ton of apps that will allow calls to come through but not too many that will allow both calls and text to come through.
I just downloaded an app and I will give it a try. It's called. CritiCall Pro. This isn't an all inclusive app so I will use it with the "Blocking mode" that is installed in the Note 4.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Try the app Do Not Disturb from playstore. It lets you control messages and phone calls during quiet hours and any other time of the day that you choose. There is a trial version and paid version.
Try automateit. It's not specifically for this but you can set triggers to silent certain numbers or silent all numbers except the ones you want to go through.
Maybe blacklist is the one for you

Call blocker... native to the Note 4... will do what I think you want it to do. You can turn off sounds for a specified time, yet allow specified callers to call or text and have the notification sound work.

The Note 4 native app is great if I only wanted to allow/block calls, I want it to be able to allow text and calls from a group and in order to do that I have to a not block notifications and by doing that it allows all notifications to chime through email, calendar etc. If they would separate notifications and text alerts there would be no problem.
So far the "Do not Disturb" app is doing what I need it to. It allows both Text and Calls to come through from a group without all the other notifications that I don't want. I will continue to see if this works out without any hiccups.
