Hey guys, have a friends Galaxy tab 3 (7 inch, SM-T210) which simply won't power on.
Firstly, the device came to me because it was completely dead. He is using an Apple charger (5v 1A) which I believe isn't the right output.
After leaving it plugged into the Apple wall charger for more than a full day, it will power on the display and go into a boot loop (displays Samsung logo for about 10secs then reboots).
It never gets to a point where it shows the battery charging icon.
If I do anything to it (hold power button, power+home+volume up, power+home+volume down) while it is in this reboot loop, it simply dies again and needs the full (more than) a day charge again before powering on the display.
It won't go into recovery or download mode.
The longest I have left it charging thus far is about 2.5 days and still the same problems.
I have tried disconnecting the battery connector multiple times also (left disconnected for up to 5 minutes) - this just causes me to have to start the whole charging process again.
Any ideas? I'm currently leaving it plugged into my PC (rear powered USB port) in the hope that it will charge properly - or at least detect a connection to the PC when it enters the bootloop (maybe try ADB).

I know it is difficult.
A) Regards the Power Adapter.
Listen PC USB port should not be used as a charging station. You always run the chance to burn your PC!
In the other hand PC USB is designed to produce 5V but only 0.5 A.
We should always used the Power adapter that came as original accessory. I own a TAB3 10 wifi. Due to our 10" big screen our OEM adapter is 5V 2A. But in your case 5V 1A is fine. It just charges slower.
B) The most used solution is get in to Download Mode and Install Original Stock software. The other possible solution is to get into Recovery Mode and do a Wipe of Cache and Dalvik and if possible a Factory Reset.
I know you said: "It won't go into recovery or download mode." But there is no other way.
In my cases Tab3 10 Wifi I can not get the battery out. But since you are saying that you can, I will suggest you unplug the battery for a minute. Hoping that when you reconnect it it would not turn on by it self:
1) Turn your PC On.
2) Start Odin3.07 and prepare to install your Original Stock ROM.
3) Connect the USB Cable to PC but NOT to TAB. As you see we only want to be ready to install Stock Rom is everything goes OK.
4) Disconnect the Battery on Tab, (If not possible Press Power for 6-8seconds and release, If it reboots Press Power for 6-8seconds and release. Keep trying until you see it stop doing the loop with Samsung logo. We are trying to ensure is in OFF and that it does not reboot)
Note: Please understand that if you keep pressing [Power] or any other sequence of buttons longer that 8 seconds it just loop once and nothing happens. You need to release the [Power] button.
5) Wait a minute disconnected. (OFF)
6) Reconnect Battery. This is where I an hoping that the Tab will not Turn On by itself! I do not know I never disconnect my battery.
7) Be prepare to Hook the USB cable from PC. Now Press ONLY [Volume Down] and Hook USB cable at the same time. It is been said that when we press Just [Volume Down] from OFF the battery registers are reset and the Battery Icon comes up in your screen!! At least this behavior work in TAB3 10 Wifi. I am not sure in yours.
If you see I am just trying to get away from the "Loop on Reboot" situation. And I believe it your best chance to ensure is in charging state. If you like you can leave it charging for at least 1 hour with the battery logo. If the battery logo goes away and you want to check if it is still there DO NOT USE [Power] BUTTON. use the [Menu] instead. In fact in this mode you can unhook the PC USB cable and Plug your Power Adapter with I believe is twice as effective charging than the PC USB.
Now lets say that when you unplug and reconnect the battery, Tab3 instead Reboot (power on) Then what I will suggest you is to get help from some body else so that you have an extra pair of hands. The Idea is that if it power on by it self ,that you can be only in charge of Pressing Just [Volume Down] while hooking USB cable. The other person will be in charge on reconnecting the battery. I hope you get my point.
Lets continue
8) So now that you have a TAB charged you can ensure that PC is connected to USB cable and Odin is ready.
9) With the battery Icon on the screen, now you can Press [Power]+[Menu]+[Volume Down]. to get in to Download Mode. Note that In my case a TAB3 10 Wifi I do not need to press [Menu], Just Only [Power]+[Volume Down].
10) Follow any Tutorial in the use of Odin for your device. Just be sure NOT to mark "Re-Partition" unless you had received a packages that requires that. If you do not know that means it is NO repartition. Understand that re-partition without having a complete package will Brick your device. Most Odin packages have only the minimum packages so do not required re-partition. You been warned.

@r2d23cpo thanks for this information, though there is a problem. As soon as I unplug it from the wall charger it stops the reboot loop and just does nothing.
Also....why do I need to connect it to PC via USB with Oden if we are not yet going to flash it? Would the wall charger works just as well after I connect the battery? (disconnect battery, wait 1 minute, reconnect battery, Hold Vol Down + connect charger)

I've noticed this with the Apple charger. But only with this particular model. I experienced none with the SM-T217. Other Samsung devices also charge fine with the same charger. The tab wouldn't show the battery icon at all, and the screen kept flashing. I left it plugged in for 1/2 hour and it moved up 1%. I don't believe it's the amp, 'cause the tab charged fine with a 1A Samsung or LG. You should switch to another charger first lest it damages the battery somehow.

This Tab doesn't ever get to the point of showing the charging icon. I currently have the device plugged into USB port of my server as it's powered on 24hrs. I'm happy to leave it in there for a few days to see if it charges better.
My hope is that it will at least get to the boot loop stage, and maybe show up as a connection on my server so I can fastboot it or something.

Not to belabor the point, but mine wouldn't charge at all at 500mA, which is what my regular cell charger outputs. So unless your server delivers more punch than standard USB ports on PCs, looks like you're in for a long and futile wait. Just my guess.

I've been using CM10 + Tablet UI for about two weeks - Super Fast and Location Services worked!
But now for about the last four days, I've not been able to charge beyond the "Charging Low Battery" screen.
I'm booting with FFF v1.4. The latest version of TWRP is also installed,
I cannot get to TWRP. Only displays FFF's "Charging, Low Battery" screen then goes black. No boot options are enabled regardless of how long the button is pressed. Green button comes on when it displays the low battery screen. Orange button never comes on.
I've tried all of the press and hold for 5,10,15, and 30 seconds as well as switching cables and usb chargers without any luck. I've waited for hours before checking to give it time to recharge, but the KF always returns to the "Charging Low Battery" screen.
I have an extended warranty, but not sure I can send it back to Amazon with FFF as the boot loader.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

whoops you got a free thanks oh well at this point its obvious its modified so your warranty is void look here for info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623244 but just hold down the power button till its off and plug it to stock wall charger for an hour and leave it if this does not work hold the power button down till its off and charge it via usb on your computer for a few hours...
Update: Got it working using the below steps
Assumptions:
a. KF - rooted
b. Boot Loader is already installed. I use FFF.
c. Recovery Loader is already installed. I use TWRP.
Steps:
1. Remove USB cable.
2. Press power button and hold for 30 sec.
3. Give KF a time-out: Let it sit doing nothing for 1 hour.
4. Press power button for 2 sec ~ gave me the "Battery Needs Charging" screen then goes black.
5. Press power button and hold for 30 sec.
6. Using a wall USB charger, attach cable to KF.
7. Should Boot with available options ~ select TWRP and continue charging until KF is 100%.
8. Enjoy.
my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Maguro and it wouldn't power up.
Here's what happened:
1. I think it started when i was transferring files from my phone to pc, then a notification came up in the PC (Windows XP) over voltage detected.
2. Charged it through the outlet
3. Next morning, battery drained but i was still able to start it up and get to the home screen for a couple of seconds.
4. then i accidentally entered fastboot, (volume + power buttons down), didn't even know what it was till now, i just selected the "START" then pressed the power button.
Info that might help:
1. charger is working, tried on other phone
2. when i connect it to the PC i get a notification "OMAP 4400" detected then tries to search for a driver
3. When it is connected it shows the lightning bolt, then the battery animation for a couple of seconds then its gone.
4. Removed the battery (i read that, that's how you get out of the fastboot mode)
Update:
Still able to get to the home screen a while ago. I still do not know if its the USB hardware or just the battery. will try another battery when my friend gets back.
Solved the problem:
checked the cable, and its more of a connection problem. used another USB-microUSB cable (not provided w/ the phone).

This is the third new pixel C I've tried this week(!) and they've all had the identical problem.. It would be incredibly bad luck to have 3 defective devices so I'm wondering if this is a known problem and there's something I can do to fix it.
The device will never go further than flashing the google logo very briefly. The light bar shows all red for a fraction of a second, then nothing. After this point the display is blank and the light bar is dead and does not respond to tapping.
If I go into recovery and select 'turn off device', the light bar is responsive but just shows a single red segment.
I've also tried the usual 10-20 seconds power off and the volume up/down/power switch combinations.
Is there any way of getting the device to charge from recovery mode?
Wonder if it's reasonable to assume that recovery mode consumes less power so the problem is a deeply discharged battery and I think that is a significant issue with Lipo cells. I assume your " 10-20 seconds power off and the volume up/down/power switch combinations" are those recommended at https://support.google.com/nexus/troubleshooter/3337561?hl=en-GB&ref_topic=6023299
Is the Pixel C charger "intelligent" ? - try a basic charger or a PC if you have a usb A/C cable?
Booted to recovery, powered it down from recovery and left it 2 hours. After a couple of attempts it booted :victory:
I left my pixel c on charge for the night (usb charge hub, 5v/2a, way I've used to charge since I got it), pixel c keyboard attached in the laptop position.
This morning I got up and press the power button to check it is charged and it was sitting on 0% saying it was charging... Power it off, leave it plugged into the wall charger that came with it and 3hrs later still nothing.
Recovery, turn off, closed it up so the keyboard is in put in the bag move, now checked it is charging, 1 red segment flashes. See what happens next. Never had an issue in the previous 7 months of using this device. Very odd, hope it is ok soon... Best Android Tablet I've had, don't really want to buy a new one...
Edit: looks like it is all good. Phew!! Bit strange.

I have the same issue. I can't get the thing to turn on at all. How do I even get it into recovery?? All I get is the google logo for 1 second, then the bars turn red and everything turns off.
Power button does nothing. Power+Vol Down does nothing.
I have a similar issue! Welcome to 2021. I plug in to charge, lightbar goes to Google colors and then red. It'll do that back and forth without turning on. Any ideas?
Had same Problem. Press vol up and down and then Connect the charger. Then I coud boot in recovery mode. From there rebooted in Android and charge up

sorry if i had to ask this i think i'm out of options that i'm aware of.
i have a tab s t705 which has been on stock firmware for the longest time(5.02, country PH) and a week ago it just died.
the tablet charges but does not turn on. i can get to odin and recovery modes but it does not boot to system. also it does not turn on when i unplug the charger.
what i've done so far:
. pressed the power button for more than 30seconds, unplugged - nothing
. pressed the power, home, and -vol buttons for about the same time, unplugged - nothing
. pressed the power button for the same amount of time, plugged - only charging icon with batt level, nothing else
. pressed the power, home, nd -vol buttons for a few seconds while plugged, gets into pdin mode but restarting it just goes back to charging icon
. pressed power, home, and +vol for a few seconds while plugged, gets into recovery mode and after trying factory wipe and wipe cache, still goes back to charging icon when rebooted
. followed a guide to remove the back cover and disconnected battery for more than five minutes and did the same steps - same results
. tried plugging in to computer where it was installed before - not detected, not even odin(3.05 - 3.11 versions) does not detect it
this tablet is absolutely out of warranty already and i sort of like this tablet. any chance i can still revive this, or were there some steps that i have missed?

If you have an DMM check the voltage of the battery it should be 4.35v fully charged battery, If the battery is faulty maybe that is what is stopping the tablet fully booting, maybe somebody else knows.

unfortunately i dot have acces to such tool but i really am hoping that this could be just a dead battery.
i'll see if replacing the batt would fix this and reply back for the results. thanks!
Hello, Huawei gadget friends.
My watch started to go in to a "low power boot loop" a week ago so I left it alone hoping a full drain would restore it back to working condition, but alas not.
So now this is the situation:
1) press button, nothing happens
2) connect to power shows the charging icon (white battery with power sign) and then after a few mins commences a boot loop as follows
3) from the charging icon, then gives the "Device software can't be checked for corruption..." message
4) followed by the red Huawei logo, then a single vibrate and then back to step 3 above
5) removing the watch from the charger stops the boot loop but then shows the low battery icon (white battery with one bar).
In one or two occasions, I saw it boot up to the colorful spinning 4 android wear logo, but did not complete (did not show "Android Wear" before rebooting again.
I have tried getting it to recovery mode screen or fastboot but without success -- I keep getting the second buzz without fail.
When the beta of 1.5 came out, I tried it, but since then, have wiped my mac and don't have the adb/fastboot software anymore. From reading the forums, there is now some new software called TWRP. Please advise what I can do.
Would I be right to suspect that it is some battery problem? Is it beyond help? :crying:

Edit: I have also left it on for several hours charging (and rebooting constantly), thinking that perhaps it is just low battery -- but no success.
I'm experiencing the same problem, i turned it off yesterday at 17% and connected to the pc this morning to charge. I immediately noticed that it started looping with the white icon and it doesn't turn on, nor boots into download mode.
Have you found any way to restore it?
Mine doesn't show the red HW logo, charged for some hours and nothing.
I noticed that the pc see that there's something connected, but keeps saying "USB not recognized". I don't know what to do, i may open up and disconnect the battery
EDIT: SOLVED, it was just the cable that broke somehow. I soldered a new cable to the circular base but that didn't work, but as soon as i received this i connected to the pc and started pressing the button randomly till it showed the battery logo and started charging
I got this when I plugged it into my laptop. Plugging it into a dedicated USB charger solved my problem - I suspect the power rating on the USB socket wasn't high enough to charge effectively or that the USB socket is faulty in some other way. From what I understand, not all USB sockets are equal in that some are suitable for high-drain devices, some not so much. So trying another USB port on your computer may also help (Unfortunately at the time I was backing up to an external HDD on the other USB so that option wasn't open to me).
guyz, i have tried my method it actually worked on Xperia X Perfomance
When it goes to Bootloop for Drained battery, i just plug the cable and perform activity block method By pressing and holing power and both volume up and down and when it hits the 1st viberation i just simply release the key. (remember dont hold it too much long after 1st single viberation just release the keys ) and your phone will go to block activity mode. charging light will change it colors from red to blue.. after 2 minutes just press power button then you ll get another viberation and your phone will be seen as charged 2% and then it will be normal again...
i think it happens when battery drained and phone is unexpectedly trying to go boot in first place.
