Dear guys,
I've been trying to get my LGE975 international device to run on E97520a-EUR-XX, but I had no success on flashing. My device was running on E97510h-232-10, yesterday I updated to E97520a-232-10. If I flash back the E97510H_00.kdz via KDZ Updater in 3GQCT, CS_Emergency, but it says that my sw version is E97510h-232-10... My apps and settings are gone for some times, but my background image...
I think, that the "232-10" part is referring to an MCC-MNC code. It is saying that the referred carrier is the Austrian H3G. I checked the kdz file size, and it is matching with the referred download link on the following site http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20
What I really want is that make a full, clear flashing procedure to get the original E97510h-EUR-XX, and then update to E97520a-EUR-XX via the official LG support tool.
What lg firmware (kdz or zip) should I use, and
what is the proper method (software, and setting) to flash the file?
Thank you for your reply,
YS, Mate Palocska
You should use E97510H.kdz. I doubt it would work with the kdz updater, there is a better kdz flasher you can use. Flashing the E97520a.kdz will be exactly the same as updating via the support tool, so I'd recommend just flashing the 20a kdz.
Is that makink a full clear, deep software change? For me, it seems like that only the characters stated with underline "_" in the SW version "E975___-232-10" are changing.
Not clearing my apps, even my background image stays the same
Should I make a hard reset before flashing? Or should I install a CWM and format the entrie /system partition?

I'm a little confused here, if you flash a kdz it restores your phone to a factory fresh-like software state.

I'm gonna try out a french or some different kdz's to see if the last 2 tag changes. If so, I am using the wrong kdz.

So I tried to hard reset, and flash - SW version stayed [...]_232-10
Rooted, installed FreeGee, and flashed TWRP:
made a full wipe, including all caches, and system partition - no OS to boot.
put into download mode and flashed the kdz, same result
So it seems like that I'm using the wrong KDZ to install. (E97510H_00.kdz - 1 026 643 KB)
I really need the exact link to the KDZ to E97510H-EUR-XX

I have found the link to E97510D which is a little outdated yes but you can do a software update once you're installed. Here's the link http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW238386573210987654321/E97510D_00.kdz

It seems like that my SW version is changing well 10H, 20A, 10D. But my version postfix "232-10" stays the same. As I wrote previously, is it possible, that the postfix number is referring to a specific carrier's mcc-mnc? If so, is it possible, that my bootloader somehow locked to that carrier, and no matter what eur-xx version is being installed, the sw version postfix "232-10" is every time stays the same?

Have the same "problem' to 466-92 and I'm on Artmod that is v20A euro-xx based, flashed befor the euro KDZ and nothing, the same numbers.
I think is the flash method used, because I used the simple method that works with my windows 8.1.
I dont understand whats wrong with having 232-10 as the sw postfix. Seems fine to me.

Well, the 232-10 version is not containing any information about my carrier (21601). Therefore when I'm on 3G, there are a lot of wakelocks keeping my device awake (like 1hr awake vs 12min screen time). After some research, it seems liket that this is because my carrier does not provide fast dormacy, and my device is not receiving any confirmations so the 3g modem wont close the connection after the data transmit completed. That is caught in the huge amounts of wakelock "msm_hsic_host", and the com.android.internal.telephony.ACTION_CHECK_NETSTAT alarm.
I tried to modify telephony.db / dcm_settings table, but there is no record for 21601, just for 21630 - which is an another carrier here). I modified the row to 21601 and turned fastdormancy to 0. The result is that there are still a lot of wakelocks, but from another activities. This wakelock-killing chain leaded to the point, where I had to disable a lot of google service that I find useful and innovative, and I'm getting tired of this.
I also tried to flash a custom kernel, but with the stock firmware, I found it impossible
I hope I can fin a solution soon
Not sure about European OGs and carrier specifics. In the UK the only OGs are unlocked E975s.
for me i locked in gsm mode, any thing i flash it just keep in gsm, i dont know what to do now, restore to carrier stock and its the same , some one what can i do?

maybe it is because somehow flashed an other country's modem, and that modem is trying to use a different frequency for 3G/4G/LTE, than your carrier does. so your phone cannot access the network throught that bad freq.
flash the corresponding modem from here http://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3AKIYS66ogAOUVOa2VjVjl1Uk0, and you might be getting correct 3G or LTE
I've already tested and is not a problem with the modem, it is a problem with m9kefs1 file, which contains the information of the Radio, i can get signal, but only gsm, that is why i need to know if anyone can give me a copy of that file, ideally someone from South America, because that way I can replace it with the copy that i have of my efs folder that i made with freegee.

I was trying to install the Quantum Rom on my ATT Samsung Galaxy S3.
It failed a few times until someone posted that I need to update my bootloader to I747UCUEMJB. I was able to install the ROM after the update but now my phone won't recognize the SIM card that's worked flawlessly till I performed the bootloader update.
Is my phone done for good or is there something I can do here? Please help!!

Sorry not really sure what that means. Also, just went in to my settings and under Baseband version I am seeing Unknown.
I checked the size of the bootloader I downloaded and it's only at 1.1 mbs and I just found the same bootloader online but at 623 mbs. I am assuming the bootloader I installed might be corrupt/fake?
I am downloading the larger file now and am going to try and install that too see if that helps?
There is no way the bootloader would be 623 MB.

Yeah figured as much, especially after looking at the contents of the file, I decided not to use it.
Thanks for the link. Just downloaded modem_CWM_I747UCUEMJB.zip and I have my network signal back up now. I am hoping this means I am good. Will let you know soon. Thanks!!!

Your baseband/modem is indeed corrupt. Before downloading or flashing ROMs please research thoroughly to be sure you know what you are doing and understand the difference between all the different files. The file you saw at 623mb is most likely the system or ROM file itself. The bootloader file itself is a much smaller file - consistent with a 1MB+ download. If you succeed with the file you are trying to download, you most probably would be updating your ROM although I'd be very doubtful if it would work. I'm not too certain but the 623MB file looks like the 4.3 update zip which usually works only when you are doing a manual update from an earlier ROM especially the immediate predecessor 4.1.2.
To correct your modem, I would suggest you try downloading and flashing the 4.3 modem file.
You may also need to install custom recovery (e.g. TWRP or CWM) for an easier installation. I presume warranty is no longer an issue with your phone in view of the firmware history.
Edit;
Just saw the last post from Audit after sending mine. Glad to know all is OK now.

I completely understand what you're saying. Truth is I don't enough about all this to do what I did. Lesson learned for sure!
So. I was able to install the Modern bootloader and have my LTE signal back up and confirmed things are working given someone already called me and the call came through fine.
Now, the last thing I need to figure out is how to get WIFI to work. It's connecting to my router and has gone through authentication and has saved my network on the list of WIFI spots but I can't seem to connect and start downloading apps without eating my data.
Never mind, finally got wifi to work. Thanks again!!
Are you using any sort of encryption on your wifi network (i.e. WPA, WPA2, etc.)? Can it connect if you disable encryption?
hi there, I have no back up of stock, and flashed the viper rom with no luck, won't show imei or baseband even though fastboot getvar all shows that information.
1. phone is rooted and unlocked
2. used sunshine to get s off and unlock bootloader
3. supercid 11111111 activated
4 full wipe/clean several times , different roms with no luck
5 tried to flash the newest firmware maybe that will activate it with no luck, I get error stating name does not match in the android info file, tried to edit with notepad++ and entered correct information, re zipped, still giving me errors
6 tried downloading stock image files several times for my service provider, but because the file is so big, it somehow cancels when it reaches 90% network error, and dl won't restart, gotta start all over and same thing happend, cannot get a complete package to try that.
the phone works great with viper rom, its just that I can't use it because of no imei or baseband, I am guessing the previous owner erased the efs partition of the phone while trying new roms, and with backup on hand, I have no idea what to do - my guess IMEI repair or generating a new esf partition with the correct information will work, but how do I do that ?
I am not an expert, just did enough reading and spend some money to get this phone working.
If you have a better idea, or would like to help me I can compensate you for your time.
Thank you so much
it's actually not that easy to erase the efs partition (if it's there on htc devices) without much knowledge...
which operator do you have and which main_version is the original one? i noticed that superCID doesn't work with all firmware.zip don't know why, somehow i wasn't able to flash all and for some i needed to change t he cid to the one matching the firmware, even if it's x.xx.401.x firmware

I had problems flashing firmware as you stated, even though I am supercid , tried once more to flash the latest firmware by changing my id's to the file, almost crashing/bricking my phone, errors, I accidental unplugged phone and it stopped, there was a don't power off warning too, but that stopped once the phone was unplugged from pc, tried again, flashed a NO WIPE firmware M9_3.35* DEV edition and after that flashed the viper rom, worked smoothly the process didnt take as long like before , and it worked, had my imei and baseband. Now it might not be perfect, because I am not getting full reception (3-4 bars at all times) but it works which is great! I will leave it like that unless I can flash a radio that is suitable for this firmware/phone (rogers/canada)
My signal indoors is 3 bars in a high signal area so you probably fixed it.

I suddenly got a problem with voice call baseband.
It had been changed and I cannot send/receive any voicecall anymore..
I expected that the radio baseband has been corrupted or changed with some reasons.
So, I want to try re-flash radio firmware for my oneplus 5T. Is there files I can download ?
Unfortunately, I cannot find it except for Oneplus 5 firmwares..

I already did it.. ...
I've downloaded full stock OOS rom from https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-7-2-7-1-1-ota-t3709265. Unfortunately, flashing full stock rom couldn't solve the problem..
Problem solved(just in temporarily) with 'Network Signal Guru' Application..
The reason why I can't make a voicecall is that baseband limit had been erased with some reasons.
To be specific, when I make a call, it should have been using 'WCDMA 2100 band' or LTE B3, but it used other bands instead..
I don't know how to fix(or lock) useless bands from my Oneplus 5T, but I am trying to figure out how to do it.
Until then, I will use my phone by locking bands with 'Network Signal Guru' App temporarily.
I guess you could try flashing different versions of OOS and open beta versions if one would fix the problem.
Unfortunately, I tried to flash different versions of OOS.. but it didn't work. ..
I think I should wait for someone to upload their fastboot-flashable radio images for restoring EFS partition or firmware drivers. :/

Search EduSession techno on YouTube. I think that channel posted the solution for this issue. You don't have to reflash anything.
I also tried the method he is talking on Youtube. - Backup EFS and do 'fastboot erase modemst{1,2}' - but nothing happened.
I am figuring out how to set the baseband by using qualcomm qpst.
Ever since I updated my phone my signal is bad. Constantly dropping from LTE to 4G. Is it possible to flash the older modem?
Appreciate other suggestions to improve signal
Would love to be able to do this too. I completely messed up my entire modem somehow (+1 for stupidity) - only getting 'No Network' now, flashed the latest version of the software using Odin, no Knox issues on bootup etc. Took it back to the shop and got it back this morning saying 'Unauthorised rework' carried out - out of warrany, get a new phone
The modem is in the CSC file if I remember correclty, even though I reflashed that successfully, still no luck.
So I'm happy to try anything, not like I've got anything to lose!

Hello all,
-I bought a 'refurbished' LG G4 online (claimed to be H815), but when I got it & checked the motherboard inside, it's VS986 instead.
Currently it's on H815 v10h (Lollipop), with ARB v2, and Baseband is MPSS.BO.2.5.c3-00070-M8992FAAAANAZM-1.19025.1
-What's is the best option I have (which ROM to flash)? I'm from Malaysia & I need GSM for 2G/3G capability (AFAIK Verizon's VS986 uses CDMA)*.
Please advise, thank you.
*EDIT: I entered Service Menu & found that several GSM & WCDMA modes are supported, but none of LTE modes is available.

The problem with Frankensteins like this is nobody knows what EXACTLY they did to make it look like a h815.
First thing to try is checking the ARB (Antirollback, see my sig) and if you are one of the 1% of lucky users then you may see "nonfusing device" instead of an ARB level.
Assuming that you did that already (as u mentioned ARB2) u are screwed.
There is no valid way to get to a good result here.
Your main issue is that the modem partition must be a vs986 one - or at least a vs986 compatible one as the ARB also takes place in that partition.
Second, if you cannot change the modem partition u might not be able to get 2G/3G as you already found out.
unlocking the device won't help either as the main issue you have relies on the the modem (partition) and even when flashing a vs986 ROM or any other it might never work.
Last - but not least - whatever you do or plan to do: kee my first sentence in mind. Each step you do can easily hard brick your device.
Ofc you can use QFIL to likely bring it back to life (the G4's are really hard to brick until an unusable state) but for this you need the extra tools, knowledge and time to learn.
sorry but there is nothing much you can do other then request your money back as you were tricked.
if you can't I may would try getting another modem partition to work with but doing that requires also a lot of time to learn how to use SALT to extract KDZs, identify the ARB of the modem partition properly (so you do not increase the ARB level by flashing a wrong modem partition) and so on..

if you can't I may would try getting another modem partition to work with but doing that requires also a lot of time to learn how to use SALT to extract KDZs, identify the ARB of the modem partition properly (so you do not increase the ARB level by flashing a wrong modem partition) and so on..

-Thanks for your reply.
-About returning & requesting a refund, I think it'll be hard as I already damaged the warranty sticker over one of the screws while trying to check the board.
-If we ignore the modem issue for now (maybe use it as WiFi-only device), then what's the best ROM I could flash? I hope at least Marshmallow so it'll last longer as more & more apps are targetting higher Android API levels.
-BTW, I just tried flashing VS9862BA_00_0525_ARB02.kdz but LG UP says "KDZ file is invalid". On another note, while in download mode, I just noticed it says:
Code:
USER S0.0 AS0.0 B91 UHS
S U LG-H810 05.1 Hrev_10
H81010o
-So, now it also has AT&T's H810 pieces inside too?
-BTW, sorry for PM'ing you earlier; I didn't notice your signature (even though you put it in big, red fonts!).

-Okay, now I have successfully flashed VS9862BA_00_0525_ARB02.kdz by extracting the DZ file & flashing it directly! :good:
However, it seems Android FRP (Firmware Reset Protection) has been triggered; need to figure on how to bypass this while on 2BA firmware.....

Warranty or not i would return it as its not what you had paid for. But up to you and ofc as you flashed a kdz on it you would need to get it back to the state jt was before..
You could unlock and flash nougat, oreo, pie but as with flashing the vs986 kdz/dz nothing comes without a risk ofc. Especially on Frankensteins!
The good is that you likely can revert UsU if you ever want to as you have a fusing device.
